Well I put a bit more thought into it, now that there is more to put thought into, and I'm thinking...

"fashionable" is a short synonym like "hip", "cool", "chic" or "in", while "welcome you can count on" refers to a way that we greet people with an appendage that we literally count on: our hands. Thus I'm thinking "wave", or "shake", or maybe a more fashionable method like "five" or "bump". The "mixed up" bit of the clue means to scramble it all up. So doing a bit of math to get exactly seven letters I get an answer like in+shake -> hankies!

This is actually a myth. The Coriolis Effect only affects bodies of water at least several miles wide, and only over substantial periods of time. And I don't even want to hear about how big their toilets are down in Texas...

Hahaha yeah I remember the episode. One thing they did get right was that they had a toilet which spun a certain way because it was designed to spin that way. This is actually why toilets spin different ways (well, the water in them): Because they are designed to spin in that direction. Maybe it's like driving on the left/right side of the road. Some countries prefer it one way, others the other way...?

I'm not sure about thread, but toilet paper rolls in Australia the same direction as everywhere else: downhill, and, as far as I know, wet willies turn both ways before removing the digit from the aural cavity...

Not exactly. It's actually the word "bad", only in oppositeland code. I'm laying it all out there because I think I might have made it too hard, kinda like the Rumplestiltskin puzzle in the original KQ2. Has anyone peed yet, by the way?
