but I think we do need another hint. every rule i think of seems to have at least one word that should or shouldn't have scored a point do the opposite. just tell me if all letters are taken into account or just specific ones like first and last?

It has nothing to do with the letters of the words. It has to do with the properties/definitions of the words themselves.

Yes, that is correct!

Full solution: 1 point for every word that could either be a noun or a verb in American English.

Sorry if this one was too hard, it seemed that everyone lost interest so I kind of needed to hint.
