IT GRINDS MY GEARS WHEN:

I go back to try and complete an AGS project from months ago and I fix all the problems, only to break everything, and then I have to revert to an earlier version where things worked pretty much, and then have to remember how I "fixed" everything, and then I break several things, and then...

I realise that all my gear grinding is totally my own fault for not being more organised in the first place...
Wow, I've definitely been there.
Thankfully I've got a good memory, and can usually recall what I fixed and how I fixed everything. But there's always that niggling doubt in the back of my mind that I've forgotten something, and there's a rare bug just lurking about.

Two words: VERSION CONTROL.
I mean, come on, people are using these for decades now.

An example of my AGS module's demo game under the source control: https://bitbucket.org/ivan-mogilko/ags-script-demos/commits/all

An example of how your script changes look under source control: https://bitbucket.org/ivan-mogilko/ags-script-demos/commits/a53ee0fbdb827c7380a61af82cb9cf4d0141477e
(yes, it would certainly benefit from comments too, but I was too lazy that day :))

Cheers for that as well CW...I'll check it out...

When a game you looked forward to for a long time ends up sucking. Money spent on crap. That really grinds my gears. :-D
mass genocide is the most exhausting activity one can engage in, next to soccer

When you finally think it's time to try and make another game, sit at your computer, open your paint program, stare at the screen for 5 minutes and then say "I must be out of my mind" shut everything off and wonder how in the world I did it the last time.

Repeat this process every 2 weeks.

Not getting released...yeah that is a serious offense! And nicky i know exactly how you feel...i have 3 different projects and none will probably get finished. I hope my iso rpg will make it to the finishing line though but somehow I doubt it. I started a Jimmy the troublemaker sequel 3 times...so...yeah.. :-D

It grinds my gears knowing that there are countless unemployed but talented artists out there, yet Rob Liefield somehow got rich and famous drawing things like this:

While I'll admit that some of that stuff is pretty horrible (I cannot at all parse how that Captain America picture is supposed to even...) : The dude probably delivers the material on time to meet the schedule(s) of the comic(s) he is working on and might not even be liking a lot of his finished works...

But in a fast commercial market like comics: An artist who can meet deadlines is more valuable than one who MUST correct their work to perfection before submitting it...

Sure...he will never be a legendary artist (Da Vinci couldn't work on anything to completion to meet his own satisfaction for shit)...But he is a working artist who gets his stuff out there...That deserves a bit of respect...

That being said: Yeah, it grinds my gears also that a lot of more talented artists can probably do the same, but just don't have the same connections...

They just have to work on getting them...It's a painful fact of the world we live in...

There are comic artists out there that are much worse.
I can't remember his name, but there's one guy who traces all of his work. He constantly traces his own work, which was usually traced from porn films. No joke.
I can't for the life of me remember his name though. ???

Based on those images, it looks like it. (nod)

I remember reading a huge argument between two people, about how one thought it was acceptable and the other didn't.
It was an entertaining read.

It grinds my gears that in Chrome, I cannot go to the last page with backspace anymore. It was so convenient, and ALT + left cursor isn't.

What grinds my gears is crap like this CNN article.

Seriously?! What's with all the unwanted and unfunny "humour" in this "science" piece?!

Is CNN accepting articles from high 16-year-olds now?!

(And, yeah, I know CNN is a crap news channel. I only go there for news because they have the resources to get breaking news stories up fast.)

How about spending a ton of money taking your family to the theme park, 60% of the time queuing for rides, then find out you have to pay for parking to escape the place!

I now hate CNN. They are lying pieces of crap that edit and cut videos to tell their own stories. They promote hate and violence and for some reason love to hate on law enforcement. To hell with CNN!

This one really takes the cake. Instead of saying shame on this girl for the things she's saying, they make her out to be some promoter of peace.

You are SO right...Damn, the dude must have been off his game that day! :-D

He was probably shoved hot pizza in his mouth (I mean...WTF even was that joke?! And why did he think it worthy to become a running gag?! I suspect he actually had just burnt his mouth with hot pizza and pulled a Brick ("I love lamp") on us...More to the point I suppose is why are there even any gags, bad or good, running or otherwise...In a friggin' science piece that is not even about a slightly humourous topic?!)

And NickyNyce: I watched the relevant parts of that video and that is just simply despicable of CNN. I know their agenda to paint the police in a bad light and incite riots, because obviously riots sell news...But I thought it was just more slanted and not outright "Wag The Dog" type BS...

Anyways: I go to CNN only for the straight up facts, like a volcano errupted somewhere, and skip all the slanted political commentary. And that's because, like I mentioned before: CNN is fastest to break stories and show footage.

According to his profile he "has been a writer, producer, field reporter and blogger for CNN since 2005." It doesn't say "failed stand-up" which I guess he edited out using his editing prowess.
