This time:
Draw a tilable pattern containing an adventure game character in a non-adventure game environment (eg. platform game, etc).

1. The Size must be 40 x 40 pixels
2. No limitation on colours

See an example here:

And see how it's tilable:

--EDIT--
Note the period had been extended, that's just because of the Easter holiday and my browser at home isn't really friendly with the boards here (or I'm just lazy...) :p

n3tgraph

must it be an EXISTING adventure character?
* N3TGraph airguitars!

Gilbert

Or at least some upcoming adventure game characters well known to us AGSers, otherwise it's difficult to judge whether the character is a adventure game character or not.

Flippy_D

That's, er, pretty tough. I can think of tiles for AGS chars, but in another game situation? hm. Tricksy.

Gonzo

Here's my attempt - Super Monkey Kart! (that's supposed to be Guybrush, MI2-era)

This is my first ever sprite jam entry...took about ten minutes, 19 colours. I didn't make a tile image, but it tiles horizontally, although not vertically (as you can probably see).

Not a bad idea for a game actually, if anyone from LucasArts is reading this. Would probably be a huge hit on the consoles...

Can you tile in one direction? ah well, it's his first (to be said in the least patronizing manner possible).

Damn, that is small. Hang on.

Gonzo

Is that Hoagie? Pretty cool sprite.

I realise mine isn't really within the rules but I started it then realised I couldn't really make it work vertically, but decided to submit it anyway as I'd spent 10 minutes on it. They're pretty tough rules to stick to though.

Rincewind

Okeydokey, here comes the sprite:

It's Rincewind, if that's unclear(Who else? ;D ) standing all alone in wrestling ring... (Ok, I'm a fan of Wrestlemania on SNES...) I think there's a tiled pattern there, somewhere...

Flippy_D

That matches your signature, RW lol.

Gonzo, yeah, it is a toughie this time. That is indeed Hoagie in

Hoagie Mier's Theme Park Tycoon.

Flippy_D

Heh, that depends if it's worth the time. I was gonna animate hoagie there but that would have been a very... annoying task.

BOYD1981

you know, i think i'm obsessed with Rode Kill

it's MarioRode!

Mikko

Boyd, that's fabulous! :)

My entry (double sized):

Yeah, it's Larry and he's in trouble with his cousins...

...in a flight simulator!

Flippy_D

* Flippy_D gives up and goes home

Rincewind

Flippy:
Hehe - Yeah, I suppose it does... ;D It wasn't intentional, though...

Boyd & Mikko:
Wow, I really dig both of them! Worthy winners.

I don't really know about that rince,

I think Flippy's TILE is very good, and very tileable :)

see what I mean??
* N3TGraph airguitars!

Gilbert

Yes of course. Actually in some sense, ALL entries can be tiled, but if you can make it looks more interesting after tiling it, you're of course get extra score. ;D

Rincewind

Aye, I suppose it didn't look that good...
Oh well... Guess I don't win this time either, then... ;D
Hehe...

Well, after seeing mikko's entry, I decided to make this:

Note that I'm too lazy to make a big one so, depending on your browser, the small images can be misaligned and/or out of sync in frames. I know the speed is a bit fast but I won't go into all the troubles of modifying it anymore.

This is NOT an entry of course.

My opinion is that animation is not madatory, but if you can make good use of the tiling property to make an animation, you may get more scores. ;)

Dmitri

woah gil, you really out did yourself on this one, supreme work dude! I love it  ;D
Pretzels :B
