Hello!

I wrote a little tutorial on my blog giving some quick pointers on how to animate walk cycles by rotoscoping them. It's an update to some tutorials I did a few years ago which can also be found on there.

Nice tutorial. I noticed you are wearing similar clothing as the character. Do you feel like this is essential to getting good results?

The end resulting sprites are amazing and I want to try your method out at some point if I ever actually make a game with a traditional main character sprite...

It certainly helps, especially if the character is wearing a coat or something that will react to movement. It doesn't always have to be the same color, though.
