I'm just curious.
For me it would be great if we could have this topic where we could speak scandinavian to eachother.

I understand norwegian, english, swedish, danish, and a little german.

det ville vært greit å kanskje møte noen norske her som kanskje kunne fortelle meg litt om deres prosjekt, og jeg om mitt til dem.

Firstly, yes, there are many scandinavians here.
Secondly, no, we don't need to speak scandinavian to eachother.
Why? Because it would exclude far more people than it would include, making it impossible for the rest of the forum to read something that to us is just somewhat more comfortable than plain English.

Remember what happened to the tower of Babel.
They all tried to speak in one single language, and....and...hm...
well, forget about the tower of Babel. Read the rules instead

There are many Americans here (I being one of them) and we refuse to learn other languages, sometimes we pretend they don't exist.  Humor us by speaking English in this fourm.  You can speak German in the German fourm (pardon my obviousness) if you need to talk to the large ammount of German users.  It's found on the fourm page.

The boards are mostly run by Brits. :)

It's just that Englsih is understood by the greatest number of community members.

And Communities are built on communication. There's no real reason to prevent talking in other languages, but it'd be stupid to do so, since you'd be missing out on interaction with alot of people.

What the **** does that mean? I thaught I knew swedish since I'd lived here for 23 years, But I can't even guess what that means...  ;)

And the pickup-line is far to long. its enought to just say 'My place or yours?' or 'What a beautyfull dress, it would look so good on the floor of my bedroom'

An Internet-site said it was "I think blue is beautiful"

And how do I say that in Swedish?  :)

AndersM

I think blue is beautyfull: Jag tycker blått är vackert.

What a beautyfull dress...: 'Vilken vacker klänning, den skulle passa på mitt sovrumsgolv'

AndersM

Isn't it hard to write an 'Ã¥' with an english keyboard?

Ufke

Ff you want to use that pick-up line in Holland you'll have to say:

Wat een mooie jurk, die past erg goed bij de vloer van m'n slaapkamer.

Or a more simple question, the dress-question is maybe too much information for Dutch girls:

Hallo, neuken?

(Hi, wanna f*ck?)

I am from Denmark.... And frankly, I think it's time the Brits and Americans learn all of our languages, since we all learned theirs.

Quick Danish course for Americans and British People:

we = vi
us = os
ice = is
see = se
they = de
them = dem
that = at

one = en
two = to
three = tre
.
.
.

and, perhaps the most important sentence to learn, it can be used for nearly anything:

"JEG HAR TISSET I DEN"

(but you'll probably not want to use it as a pick-up line, not even in sweden)

/Scarpia - danish is very easy

AndersM

Danska är iallafall nästan lika lätt som svenska, eller hur Scarpia?

Pumaman

Yes, forum policy is to speak English.

This is because it is a language that everybody here understands (since AGS is only available in English, you wouldn't be here if you couldn't understand it).

This has nothing to do with lazy Americans/Brits/whatever, this is simply a rule so that everybody can understand everybody else, and I would hope it goes without saying.

There is an unofficial German forum linked from the Forums page on the AGS website if you really have a burning need not to speak English.

AJA

But what harm could it do if there were just one thread where you could post in any language (with translation of course)? But on the other hand then some would probably think that it's okay to post in any language anywhere on these forums...  :-\
