Recently found out Blender can do everything Sculptris can, so what's the point?  (laugh)

Always wanted to make an isometric strategy game, here's a biodome sprite!

Nice :)
I am considering creating an isometric strategy too. Byzantine-themed ^_^

Here is an aztec city set i made with Blender (in-game pic from CivilizationIII)

Do you have a specific setup with materials, shadows, lighting, or rendering settings when you make your isometric sprites? Obviously I already know about the orthographic camera.

I have, yet i won't be sharing it. Took a lot of time to arrive at it  :=

Which should not at all deter you, though. You should fiddle around with the lighting setting and the res setting (i use 800-1000 render samples, but even 500 will do in most cases for isometric).
For lighting i use a simple lamp, set to contrast/brightness, with brightness=0, contrast (usually) 18.0 and strength at around 4.0.
Obviously always use Cycles render!

Your first building already looks very stylish, i am sure if you keep at it you will be awesome in blender at no time

I got a bit of a cartoony feel from my sprites in Fists of Murder by using a generous plain environment light with a sharp (small) sun lamp. The environment light lights most of the model and then the sun lamp provides simplified and clear shadows. Not sure if this is what you're after but I think it will work for this and look good. I think the sprites kyrkiros posted in critics lounge would look better with this method (but I won't be sharing it).

I'll give it a try next time, cheers Jack.

I was waiting for MAGS to start, so I indulged in my favourite activity.

I thought I'd share my newest animation. It is in low poly and rendered with eevee. music by the great edwin montgomery.

Some really good stuff in here!

I just finished (well almost finished) this model and figured I'd share.

I'm pretty happy with it. I used 2k textures which kill it when you get too close but you have to get pretty close.

I had a lot of fun with this... next I'm going to work on an AT-AT to practice some rigging.

Jack

Very nice, especially the carbon scoring.
