New "Black Stories" Crime Riddles
« on: 23 May 2020, 12:44 »
I thought I'd try to revive one of my favorite forum games, introduced by Kumpel in this thread. The aim of the game is to solve a crime riddle:
  • The narrator gives a short description of the case they have in mind and the problem that must be solved
  • Each case only has one correct solution, determined in advance
  • To help you solve the case, you can ask any yes/no question; the narrator will only answer "Yes", "No" or "Maybe/Irrelevant"
  • Each of you may only ask 5 questions between each update by the narrator
  • Whenever you think you have solved it, you can propose your solution, and win the game if you are correct!
OK?
Let's start with an easy one:

Case #59
The murder was carried out using two pills.

How was the murder done? Who were the murderer and victim? And what was the motive?

My second question: did the murderer and the victim each take a pill?

Was it the ingredients of the pills that caused the victim’s death?

(Just to clarify, Ali, you can ask more than 5 questions for the whole case. Just not between each time I update with answers to the questions so far.)

Maybe the murder wasn't intentional.

Did the victim choke?

Were both pills taken?
Did the murderer take a pill?
Were the pills designed to ameliorate the effects of something else (e.g. anaphylaxis)?

Could the same crime have been committed with only 1 pill?

I KNOW!!!

A man took a sleeping pill and a laxative before going to bed and died from embarrassment at the outcome.

(I know this doesn't fit the case but I couldn't resist reusing this old Dave Barry joke)
