Is the pill an abortion pill?

I'm REALLY hoping it's not that, otherwise we gotta a controversy ova here.

Stupot

Did the victim die as a result of one or more stings or bites?

Was the victim tricked into a bogus suicide pact?

Was money involved in the motive?

Snarky

No fear, Ali.
And nice one, Mandle. With your experience in this game, I expect you've already solved the case?

I wish I'd given you another detail or two about the case, since I'm now realizing that by mentioning only the pills, you have nothing else to go on and few other avenues to explore. As a hint: I would try to figure out the nature of the pills before guessing at how they were used in the murder. The relationship between victim and murderer could also be a useful piece of the puzzle.

Spoiler
Case #59
The murder was carried out using two pills.

How was the murder done? Who were the murderer and victim? And what was the motive?
[close]
Yes (nod)
Are both pills the same?
Are the victim and murderer related?
Were both pills taken?
Did the murderer take a pill?
Were the pills designed to ameliorate the effects of something else (e.g. anaphylaxis)?
Are all involved human?
Were both pills taken at the same time?
Could the same crime have been committed with only 1 pill?
Was money involved in the motive?

No (wrong)
Was the murderer a medical practitioner?
did the murderer and the victim each take a pill?
Was it the ingredients of the pills that caused the victim’s death?
Was Hydroxychloroquine taken on the advice of Donald J. Trump?  :-D
Were the pills ingested by the victim?
Did the victim choke? [But I had to consider this one carefully]
Did more than one person die? [Hmm, let's say no]
Was the death quick?
Are the murderer and the victim siamese twins?
Is the pill an abortion pill?
Did the victim die as a result of one or more stings or bites?
Was the victim tricked into a bogus suicide pact?

Unanswerable or Ambiguous :-\
Did the pills contain some kind of technology? [What is "technology"? But no, not in the way I assume you mean.]
Did the victim know beforehand they would die? [Before what? The answer is probably no, though]

Did the victim die from an allergic reaction?

I'm going to assume "Yes" and try a solution:

The murderer stood to profit from the death of their relative (e.g: A child gaining the parent's inheritance).
They both shared the same genetic allergy to something (let's say peanuts).
The child prepared dinner for both of them and sprinkled peanut powder on the parent's dinner.
The child then took a dose of the medicine to prevent the allergic reaction before eating the dinner. Perhaps the child took two pills so it would look like they BOTH took the pills AFTER the allergic reaction began.
They both ate the dinner and the parent suffered the allergic reaction and died but the child was saved by the medicine.

(I see a few flaws in my theory but what the heck)

Stupot

I was thinking along similar lines but with bee stings, but we now know stings weren’t the cause, so it could be peanuts.

I need clarity on something, knowing that one pill would have been enough to carry out the crime:

Is the fact that there were two pills relevant?

Hmm, that comment caught my attention.   :sealed:
We're assuming that 2 people are involved here.  BUT...

Are the victim and the murderer, one and the same person?

I'm thinking that maybe 1 person took the pill\s, not realising it would kill them.

See, I'm thinking this response from Snarky might mean that the crime could have been committed with only one pill but  the killer might not have gotten away with it without taking two pills.

Hence my theory that he/she took two pills from a previously unopened bottle to make it look like both of them didn't know the food was contaminated and had both taken pills after the symptoms began. Of course that would be revealed as false in an autopsy but if the story fools the police enough there won't be an autopsy as the death was not considered suspicious.

Maybe they were worried that a pill washed down the sink or thrown away in the trash might be discovered?

Hmmmm, so many holes in my theory but maybe Snarky might give a nudge if it's even slightly on track.

Mandle

Are the "pills" actually drolly amusing people?

Snarky

A lot of cool theories, but sadly the truth is much less clever than that.

Are you word-playing on the meaning of "taken"?

Stupot

Were there more than two people at the scene at the time of the murder?

Mandle

Could this murder take place in the real world?
Is this murder an actual case that happened in the real world?

Stupot

Were the pills of a kind usually available over the counter in drugstores?
Were the pills of a kind that usually require a prescription?

I guess Ali also asked the same question, but I'll make the question more clear...

Does "take a pill" equals "ingest  a pill"?
Is the victim the wife of the murderer?
Is the victim the husband of the murderer?  ;)
Is the murder a child of the victim?

EDIT:
Did the murder took the pill to stop the victim from curing himself from an allergic reaction?

(also it would be nice if you also carried the original thread question along with the answers, maybe under hide tags as well)
There are those who believe that life here began out there...

CaptainD

Was some kind of insurance scam involved?
Were the pills deliberately mislabelled?
Did the pill treat the opposite condition to what it was supposed to?  (ie treatment for hypothyroidism when it should have been for hyperthyroidism)

Riaise

Did the victim give the murderer the pills?
Was the murderer incapacitated in some way before they took the pills?
Did the pills contain a hallucinogenic?

Yes, if only Snarky had thought of doing exactly that...  (laugh) (laugh) (laugh)

Evil you  :P ... for some odd reason I didn't noticed it  :-[

EDIT:
Spoiler
Just checked the thread, now I think why I didn't noticed it... Cause the 1st few didn't had it, and my brain just ignored anything about the answers afterwards as "off topic" chat...  (roll) )

EDIT 2: Uhm, seems like the new forum can't auto close the tags either, like it did before.

Are the pills against diving sickness?

Would the victim have survived if he/she had taken a pill?

Did they find treasure?

Oh well...connect the dots to see what my theory is...

Hehehe... oh by the way, just because I'm an English teacher currently out of work I'll just mention an easy hint about a grammar point I don't think you are aware of because I've seen the same slight issue in your posts over the years:

Spoiler
If you use a previous past-tense term in a sentence then you don't usually use another past-tense term within that same sentence. There are exceptions in a complex sentence, but as a general rule in simple sentences it should be "I didn't notice it" and not "I didn't noticed it".

i wouldn't usually try to correct a European's English as you guys are usually much better at English than actually native speakers spelling and grammar-wise, but in this case it's such an "easy" rule i thought I would mention it.
