Gabriel Knight 3 in 2d (like Gk1). Seriously those old 3d graphics where really ugly plus an improved interface.
As a bonus the cat moustache puzzle (idiotic puzzle that adventure games are mοcked to this day) could be removed/replaced  ;)

Quest for Glory 5 in Qfg 4 2d style with no world map!

PQ 4 Open Season need to fix that terrible ending. It started when you use rope on dog at griffith park that takes you the alley. How is this proper police procedure and why didn't you call for back up.

Do you remember in PQ2 when you make the drug bust at that dope house and a huge tank roles in and out to bust the door down? I’m sure that’s procedure but even as a kid I remember thinking “what, Sonny Bonds can’t kick a door in?” (laugh) Also, remember Keith the chain-smoking partner?

Back to topic - one of my favourite games is Little Big Adventure. Not sure if it could be remade because a lot of the charm was in the clunky 3D world (which it actually did quite well for its time), but the whole exploring and confronting a planet under totalitarian rule where you didn’t always know who your friend were gave a lot of great suspense, plus the mix of a handful of species throughout the world was a cool dynamic.

If you could breathe new life into Maddog Williams, that would be really cool. I guess part of its charm is its dated indie spirit, but it had a cool premise and pacing and the puzzles were pretty good.
+1  (nod)
I remember playing that game years ago, and barely being able to get anywhere in it.
I could probably complete it now, considering I have the internet and walkthroughs.

I'd love to see a remake of Quest for Glory 1.  The VGA version of that game had a lot of things look completely different from the original.  I'd like to see a VGA remake that simply updates the existing EGA graphics rather than reimagine them.

The only fix possible for PQ 4 is complete removal from the series. I cannot still believe that the same company that made PQ1-3 made this!
Full of tasteless violence (for violence sake!) and a scenario that really didn't make sense! You can't fix that with a remake!

Cyrus

I'd love to see the old ZX Spectrum games by Fergus McNeill, such as Robin of Sherlock, Quest for the Holy Joystick, the Big Sleaze, etc. remade in the style of 1990s point & clicks:

Sinusoid

Recently played (and completed with walkthrough) Starship Titanic and found it nearly unsolvable.
I think it needs a remake without dead ends, with normal dialogue system (not parser) and more hints.

There were some games that got demakes, which were new versions of them but remade like if it were retrogames. I think some, like DarkVoid the demake was more known than the original game.

Did not know that there is a proper term for that. Recently I've stumbled upon PICOHOT, a PICO-8 version of SUPERHOT, and been wondering how to call it... (unless it falls under yet another category)

I tried again "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" some months ago and I found its gameplay a little cumbersome. I remember that it was a very good adventure and I would like to see it remastered.
I should have listened to my mother---I should have practised.

Good shout, this would be such an awesome remake project!

A VGA or high resolution of the Hobbit text adventure would be cool, especially if it keeps the parser, but then also adds point and click functionality as well.

I would definitely love to see a proper text adventure made with today's technology. And by that I mean the text parser input but with all the computing power, deep learning, neural networks and all that googly jazz...
I'm constantly frustrated by people bashing parser input as outdated, while millions use google search parser on daily basis. It's the '80s parser *technology and implementation* that got outdated, not the actual input method.

I would like Zak McKraken remade with no dead-ends and full voice acting and original orchestral music score.

I can dream can't I?!?!

...and Maniac Mansion. Preferably with visuals matching DOTT.

In fact, there is a Maniac Mansion version with the style of DOTT, being developed in AGS by *insert user here*, and retitled as "The night of the meteor". There is an old trailer in youtube about it, but theorically it still under development, as I see in his Facebook's official page.

Wow, this is ridiculously cool... tried it a few times and got some nice results out of it... it reminds me of a vastly improved version of Facade.

Future Wars would be cool too.

Yeah, that would be really cool. And Cruise for a Corpse. :)
