So I recently released my first game on itch.io and looking at the analytics, most views (apart from itch itself) are from a Russian website I've never heard of. Which got me thinking - are there non-English adventure-related websites/forums in your countries where posting a link to one's game would be appreciated? And if there are, would you be willing to translate a short post into your language and post it there (or help the author with posting)? Especially big countries like China could be interesting, although if the Vatican has its own adventure gaming website, I'm all for it :).

Hope this doesn't come off as sleazy, I'm not looking to spam anyone and don't even really need to push this particular game (it's free anyway), but I thought I could use it to learn a little bit about promoting games, and it could be useful for others too.

Thanks!

I don't know if this will help, but I know that this Russian board has a section dedicated to AGS: https://vk.com/board17976818
(I'm not Russian, I just know about it because of this forum.)
Also, there are other language versions of the AGS forums. And let's not forget that Italian forum that's been translating the Maniac Mansion Mania games.

There are two Polish forum dedicated to adventure games I know of, https://forum.przygodomania.pl and http://www.przygodoskop.pl/forum/. I have never really participated in them, nor even read the discussions people have over there. However, from what I have seen, new posts are still being added, so I am assuming the forums are still alive. There might be others but these are the only ones I heard of.

If you go to the AGS Community page here: https://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/community/
you will see links to German and French AGS forums. I have no idea how much active these are though.

I remember seeing a Russian forum dedicated to adventures somewhere, but I keep forgetting the address. I've seen people doing unofficial translations to AGS games there a while ago.

TBH I was getting an impression that today you post on Twitter with proper tags for maximal advertisment :).
