The user heltenjon writes me:
I'm glad to see some crossovers in this game as well! In my mind, this it what happened after The Pixel Has You, when Guybrush and the others return to the timelines.

I've played through the game, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This game, and Daniele's other games, for that matter, must be taken for what they are: fan games. That basically means that if you for some reason haven't played the original Monkey Island yet, you ought to do so first. This is not a remake, and is not aimed at purists who want the same game in polished form. The game will be best enjoyed by the people who have played the original and can appreciate the in-jokes, references and variations put into play. The game doesn't try to meet Lucasarts standards of having responses to every possible interaction, in fact, most possible interactions aren't implemented. (But there are more interactions in this one than in earlier games of his I've played.) Graphics and music are "borrowed" and look and sound good, as expected.

The game offers the same basic structure as the original game, but the solutions to the tasks given are new. The difficulty level is just right, I think. By some trial and error, you should be able to make progress. The characters are still the funny people we know from the original games, and the game had me smiling throughout. I quite like the humour of Daniele's crossovers and guest appearances from other games - I guess that could be a drawback for some players, but not me. Recommended if nothing of what I've written puts you off.  (nod)

I finished playing last night. I overall agree with Jon's assessment BUT my perspective is different because I did not play the original (I did play a fan game in 2014 and some game with 3D animation on PlayStation probably around the same time, so I entered the game with some idea as to what's going on and who's who).

Overall, a LOT of fun and great remake. I really enjoyed the puzzles and agree with Jon that they were just about right. I had a little trouble because I think the player was expected to know certain hotspots that I didn't realize existed and sometimes it didn't dawn on me

. Other than that, good puzzle design and my comment is that the game is well worth playing.

Finished it, was big fun. Even though a lot has been borrowed from Monkey Island, the puzzles were fresh and gave the whole thing a new twist. Well done.

Thank you guys! I am really pleased!  (roll)
What interests me is that the spirit of the child is reborn within you, so that you can immerse yourself in a new adventure reliving the nostalgia of the 80s and 90s.   ;)
It seems that my intent has succeeded.  (laugh)
I hope to give you other emotions in the future.  (nod)

I'm really enjoying this game so far!  I love the new interface, and I like that you show a different perspective on Guybrush first arriving to Melee Island.  I am putting up a post in hints/tips for you though because I am already stupidly stuck, and unless there's some kind of bug, your game does not seem to exactly follow the original MI walkthrough (so Googling that can't help me, obviously)...

Overall the puzzles are solveable but I did get stuck a few times!

soooooo cool!!!
Just 2 questions:
- is there any way to skip the initial intro (from the fake code protection with no checking to the proper game start) and immediately load a saved game?
- I just played the first few minutes and I enjoyed a lot the new additions (the vulture in the Scumm bar, etc) I noticed the dialogues are without choices, and characters keep talking without user interaction; I'm just curious to know if all dialogues are that direct or there will be user choices somewhere.

really enjoying this!

Have you tried pressing F7? I'm not 100% certain, but I think you can do that to skip to your saved game.

Almost all dialogues are like that. I can remember two with player choices in this game, at least there aren't many.

F7 doesn't seem to work during intro..
