House of Horror

I realize it's a long shot, but I'm stuck in a 2009 ags game/demo called House of Horror.

In story mode, I need the combination to the safe. Spoiler: ShowHideHave found a shelf with numbers that may or may not correspond to colours. There are colour patterns on shelves, paintings and inside a tv, yet it's not clear to me how I'm supposed to think to be able to even determine how many digits the code is.

In arcade mode, I run out of bullets before I manage to kill the boss, and I wonder if there is some trick to it that I haven't discovered.
