If you want to switch to the ghost character, interact with the fireplace.
Vice versa to establish communication, but then the ghost sometimes has to interact several times with the fireplace and dragon and also make sure that the main character is aware of the reaction. Blowing into the fireplace while the main character stands in front of the book shelf is useless.
