I've invented some more.

A T-shirt with text that says "I [love] this game". (Anyone who puts it on gets instantly killed by an angry mob)

Remote control with just one big red button. (Makes the game crash to desktop)

A big red cup (Any liquid becomes extremely poisonous in it)

Any of the TVshop items (Used as throwing stones in RPG game)

Hobbit leg hair (used in creating the potion of Invisibility)

Multiusable thingamabob (Weights 8 kg (yes, that's the only use))

Yahtzee (used on parties for clearing crowds (I mean the "game" Yahtzee, I find it pretty boring))

A couple of GunZ (contains 10000 zillion of differant species of bugs (understandable for GunZ the Duel players))

Something has occured to me: Have there ever been an anvil in a adventure game before? You know, the ones they usually throw or drop in cartoons.

I'm sure I've played a few games with anvils in, but I can't remember if I've ever played one where it was an inventory item.

More:
* Second-hand toilet roll (available from Oxfam's Skull Island branch)
* A panty-liner (with wings for gliding over a magma filled crater)
* A mother-in-law (incase a real shield is unavailable)

Dictionary written entirely in "lete speak"

Small character (or object capable of mobility) with full conversation who you carry around in your inventory, the character makes witty comments and occasionaly escapes so you have to chase him down and capture him again.

Bunch of pieces that can be assembled (in 3D) to create various other onjects.

My last three suggestions were kinda boring.
Fortunately, I came up with two much better ideas:

Hair in a can.  They used to advertise this stuff on infomercials, but it was really just spray paint that stuck to your head.  What if you could really spray actual hair (or fur) out of a can and onto any object in a room.

Thought bubble.  Use this on a puzzle you're having difficulty with, and a "Daydream" minigame opens up, with the problem and its solution represented in some abstract, surreal way.  Win the minigame, and you'll figure out how to solve the puzzle.

A magic wand, which when waved over a numeric lock, or a computer that requests you to input a password, tells you what the password is.

- George W. Bush's moustache

President Bush doesn't even have a moustache so it doesn't really count. If he ever had one then maybe...

The fact that, Bush hasn't got a moustache is the point.

Not entirely true. The shrinking ray is something Old Purple Tentacle used, it was never an inventory item, so it doesn't count.
About Zak: It's not an amulet but a crystal and besides, it just switches bodies with animals, Zak never turns into them.
Monkey Island: That depends on what TYPE of lips you refer to. MI had WAX lips but not the real thing.
