The paint program you use has never really mattered as long as you stick to the basics but photoshopping in items is definitely discouraged (that's what photoshop phriday was for).

Of course including a photo from wikipedia isn't exactly what the paint game is all about. But making the cut-out with a white paintbrush is still quite paint-esque.
