This is going to seem very silly, but I really can't work out how to create a character- I know I have to draw in all his frames of animation, but how exactly do you piece them together in the right way? And are there any sample characters (apart from the demo game) I can use in the meantime to test my game with that anybody could let me use?

Thanks.

You have to draw every single sprite, import them via the sprite-editor and then give "views" to your character, for example a walking view. IN the view editor you can decide which of your importet sprites together make one animation.
Also read the beginners-tutorial for more useful information and enjoy using AGS  :)
