Critics' Lounge / Background Sketch
Sat 20/08/2005 19:39:09
This is a sketch for a background (outskirts of a small town), I want to use in the game I'm working on. I'm not really sure whether this works or not though, as BGs really aren't quite my forte.

As for something else, I originally intended this to be a scrolling screen. As it turned out however, the format I chose can be shrunk down to exactly 320x200.Ã,  ::)
Though it isn't hard to make a scrolling screen by pulling one half of the pic to the right, I'm currently pretty clueless on how to fill out the gap then.

If someone had an idea, I'd really appreciate it!
As well as any comment & critique of course! ;D

In my game, there is a cupboard with a flowerpot on it. You'll have to move the cupboard to the right, then the flowerpot falls off it and crashes.
Each is an individual object.

However, for any reason I can't make those two object move at the same time, not to mention make the pot fall down to the floor after the cupboard stops. It always gets stuck and after the cupboard has finished moving.

When I f.ex. insert a "while" command before the MovingObject line (followed by a Wait) the game freezes.

Another problem is that I can't have the flower pot to be on top of the cupboard. It always turns up behind it.  >:(

Please help, it's driving me nuts!  :P

Okay, legal stuff first:

the rules are:
Ã,  Ã,  *Ã,  Participants will draw a comicstrip following the given theme and rules.Ã,  Ã,
Ã,  Ã,  * You are allowed to use any technique in your drawing. But if you use computer you are not allowed to copy and paste ready pictures.Ã,  Ã,

Ã,  Ã,  * Each competition will last 15 days.Ã,  Ã,
Ã,  Ã,  * The starter of each competition will decide the winner.
Ã,  Ã,  * The winner will decide the theme for the next competition.

So, and before I change my mind again, here's the theme for this contest:

"Something I have learned today"

Remember those little morals tuck to the end of about any cartoon from the 80's till the early 90's? Like, Captain Planet telling us how to be nice to our environment? Or the Care Bears teaching us that by bragging you won't make any friends (or you'll make friends, you don't want)?

As a matter of fact, life is full of precious lessons to be learned every day!
And it's up to you, to teach the kids a lesson, they will never forget!Ã,  ;)

There are no restrictions, just make sure your lesson is obviously told.
Otherwise, let your imagination run wild!Ã,  ;D
(And as any adventure gamer knows, sometimes morals are merely a matter of opinionÃ,  :P)

Critics' Lounge / C&C on walk cycles
Thu 21/07/2005 19:43:19
These are two walk cycles of the main character from the game I'm currently working on. Or rather, I'm continuing to work on it after a quite long break.

I was wondering, what you think of it and if I there are any mistakes, I didn't notice.
Any C&C on the animation or the character itself is appreciated! :)

Looks like my convertor seriously screwed up with some of the colors... :P

Hints & Tips / Apprentice Please Help!
Sat 16/07/2005 21:06:36
Hi to all!

I'm seriously stuck in "Apprentice" and just don't know what to do.
I've searched the forum, but most commonly the link to the walkthrough is given, which doesn't work.  >:(

I currently have the scroll, the sandwich book, the blanket, the plant id book, the bucket of milk and the coffee grinder (cleaned). I also put the stool under the saddle.

But I have no idea what's next.  :-\

Any help is greatly appreciated!
