I'm looking forward to this. Regarding the name change, I still think it's easy to misread "Rue" as "Rule" and with "Gemini" being a more familiar word its just easier. But I do like the name, even if it's not as unique as the old name.

Perhaps registering "Gemini Rule" just so searches will redirect to this game is a good idea...

THanks for the compliments, everyone!

Backgrounds look great, but the artist seems to have this thing for exceedingly bright white light-sources :)
A bit too cheap an effect in my eyes but I guess it works on a casual audience...

Can you further explain what you mean by "too cheap an effect"? I can understand if it's not your thing, I'm just curious what makes it cheap.

Cool, thanks!

Also, out of curiosity, why is that save games from games played with the Mac player and save games from the normal Windows versions aren't compatible?

I'm just wondering why that would be, as I would've figured the save games to contain info just relevent to the game (ie, inventory, screen, points, what-have-you) and not info regarding if it was played on a Mac or PC.

Any chance there's a Mac player for games made with AGS v2.72 in the works?

I tried using VirtualPC but the save games won't work since I had been playing with the Mac interpreter. I tried starting from the beginning but it runs incredibly slow on VirtualPC.

Oh well, maybe some day I'll see how it ends...

Gah!

Apprentice 2 works fine on the Mac AGS player but it crashes right near the end when giving the silver to Master.

Does anyone have screen caps or a description of the end of the game from that point on?

I have those same problems, Apprentice 1 deluxe skips and crashes when speech starts, and in the regular version I get stuck because I can't go back into the tower once I leave.

Awesome. I hate for you to go through the trouble for such a minority of game players, but I guess it's just your fault for making such a great game.  ;D

Might there still be a version in the works that runs with the Mac AGS player? Past the part where it crashes as he's digging up the treasure, that is. I really look forward to playing the rest of the game.

Drat ! The game was going great until I got this error while the digging for the treasure cut scene was playing:

-----
An error has occured. Please contact the game author for support, as this
is likely to be a scripting error and not a bug in AGS.
(ACI version 2.71.872)

in Room 7 script (line 46)

Error: MergeObject: unable to merge object due to color depth differences

I'm playing with the Mac AGS player if that makes a difference.

Here's a question: most of the AGS games I've come across are compiled into a single .EXE installer file. Is there any way to open or extract these on a Mac, so I can get to the actual game .EXE file?
#13
No, unfortunately.

Was there a way to get the King's Quest VGA remake (1 or 2) to work? After the "this game should only run in 320 x 200 resolution" screen it just quits.

Just to add to my note, Jessica Plunkenstein has dialogue and that's not crashing AGS, so I don't know why the dialogue in the Deluxe Apprentice does.

I just downloaded this and am having a problem with the Deluxe version of Apprentice. It seems to crash just as the dialogue starts. I've skipped the opening cutscenes, and again the game plays fine until someone says something.

I'm running 10.4.3 on a 1.67 GHz PowerPC G4 with 2 gigs ram.
