The Construction is the fourth episode of Tales From The Outer Zone.
It was made in a couple of weeks for Adventure X Jam 2021.
The theme was "Contact" and we chose the genre "Wild West".

You are a Mind Scanner.
You analyze and treat patients in The Structure - a retro-futuristic metropolis and regime.


Being a skilled psychiatrist, The Structure has hired you to normalize the "abnormal".
You will be faced with ethical dilemmas and will soon start to question your own beliefs and sanity






The game features point-and-click exploration,
but is more of a visual novel mixed with simulation/boardgame/management.

While being inspired by the absurd treatments and methods throughout the history of psychiatry,
the game is purely fictional, set in a surreal world outside time and place.

The game is in beginning of production, and I am currently looking for a publisher to help me fund the game.
I made a prototype in AGS, but the game might be moved into Unity - we'll see.

Mind Scanners is set in the same universe as CYBORG SEPPUKU - a game made in AGS for MAGS AUG 2018.

Hi

Apparently the Linux version of my game won't launch.
I don't know Linux and I'm not the best coder so I can't really do anything to fix this.

I got this message from a user for my game "Cyborg Seppuku":

"I had some trouble running on Linux. The Itch client fails to launch (here's the error trace); it looks like it might be having trouble reading $SCRIPTPATH as defined in Linux/CyborgSeppuku? But it is defined and called correctly with quotes, it is a single string with whitespace in it. Also ags64 is exactly where it's looking for it, no idea why it can't find it. But tbh I'm not really sure how that script works, since all it supposedly does is define a couple env variables but if you run it by hand it executes AGS and the game somehow (and completely scrambles your randr configuration if launched fullscreen as by default, but details). Might be the problem is just with the Itch client."

A cyberpunk tale of marriage and selfdestruction.


You're a cyborg and your wife has left you. To find her you must leave "The Structure" - a dystopian city in which you are imprisoned.
The only way of escaping The Structure is to rid yourself of your implants and become a plain-skin.

The game was made for MAGS August 2018.
It has been great working on my first AGS game!
Feedback is more than welcome. I will probably make a version 2.0.

Greetings people of the blue cup!

I want my npc characters to play a loop animation. And I want to control when they go from one frame to the next etc.
This seems straightforward when I make my frames and set the delay in their views.

But when I play the scene, the animation only plays every 15+ seconds.

Hope someone knows why.
