Hello! After some time of patient observation I just noticed that in my town there are a lot of italian restaurants, and a couple of american restaurants, but not a single "italoamerican restaurant" or a classical "greasy spoon" dinner... That gave me the idea of, probably, starting a business of serving pizzas, pasta, but also hamburgers, hot dogs and pretzels in a never seen before environment... I came up with this logo idea... which do you like? Feel free to download the image and attempt new colour schemes, or new ideas for the logo.



P.S. Damn! Photobucket resized my image, and the logo elements are not on 2 bits anymore... Don't worry, just edit that images, I will fix the colours with my own painting program.
P.S.S. I've updated the image to Neole's space... It's huge! My apologies... If a moderator thinks that I should resize the image, I will do it asap!

Hello guys!

I am probably moving to the UK in the following weeks... It's a bit like a "hippy trip", in the sense that I don't know where I will work. I have been told that "Inditex jobs" (A Spanish enterprise which owns Zara, Berska, Stradivarius, etc...) accepts Spanish workers with some level of English, and I know a girl who works there in human resources who told me that I will be hired, for sure. So, in a couple of weks I could be there.

Why do I do it? Well... After passing from the teen age to 30 without any major change I want to start living, London seems like a good start. The problem is that I don't know where will I live, how to move there, how to rent a house, etc...

I need help!

When I know more I would really appreciate information from people living in London... hey! Some of you might be there, willing to share the expenses of the rental with someone!

People from London, Chris, Nikolas, etc: Be sure I will try to make a visit to you!

Any other people from the Capital? Any important info I can use?

Here comes a long post about feelings, so, if you don't feel in the mood of saying something positive, please, please, stop reading because I have a feeling of complete sorrow and the last thing I need is someone making jokes of my situation. I will post it in hidden, so, only those who are really interested in the topic or those who know me can read it...

Here's the thing: After 9 years of relation with my beloved friend Lorena yesterday we finished. Some of you, those who have seen us together might say "What? How? You seemed to be so in love!". Yes, it's true. Lore is the person I know I will love more than anybody else in my life. Period. But one thing is to love, and the other thing is to be enamoured. I am not... And it hurts. I would really like to be in love with her, and save her the two terrible days I made her pass this weekend, when I realised of my real feelings (or, to be honest, when I decided that my real feelings were too strong to go on living this lie).

She is kind, polite, she makes me smile, I am happy when I am around... Same as some of my friends do.

But I don't want a friend... I want a girlfriend, it' s different.

I felt like that for a long time ago, maybe 3 or 4 years, but I felt quite comfortable in that situation: I consciently decided to go on with her, even not being in love. She was my little baby, and I was his "dad". To the few people I explained this situation told me that I was not acting correctly, even seeming for me the best option at that moment. Now I see they were right, but if I did what I did, it was by some reasons... let me post them:

I started with her when she was 16... She was quite mature for her age! She had two working parents, and she was taking care of the home almost alone, with not even a little attempt of help of his bother.

His brother is quite intelligent at manipulating his parents. He does not help at home, or even try to get good grades for them to be proud of him, but he is diplomatic with them, he is a good "buddy" of his dad and the "right eye" for mom. It doesn't matter he brings lots of fails in the last grades; He told his dad "Dad, I want to go biking with you!" and the home is full of joy for some hours (He never finally go biking with his dad). Lorena is just the opposite. Worker, studient, selfless... But she is not good at getting along with her parents. She brings good grades, and she receives a short "congratulations". Some minutes after she gets a ruction because the table hasn't set up propperly. Totally unfair.

As an example, once, the "kid" decided to do the Island-Benidorm swimming journey (A local 4 kms. swimming journey) When Lore saw how proud her parents was of doing the journey, she said "I want to do it!". Her face was a face of total illussion... Her mom's reply was "How dare you to want to do it, you are too lazy". Her expression changed to a total illusion to total sorrow... Even not being "in love" with Lore I wanted to be there for those moments... I really wanted to support that girl I love.

As an example. when I started dating Lore, I went to swim a whole summer with Lore and her bro. After two weeks we lost the bus to come home ALL THE DAYS because his brother was too lazy to shower quicky (He was like 40 minutes having a shower) I told his dad, before knowing how he was: "Toni, if he does not have quickliest showers I am going to pick up the bus without him". I thought he was going to support me, his son needed a lesson and needed to be educated.
His reply? "You will do what you want, but her older sister will be with his brother, no matter how he lasts, because she is older and he is a kid (He was a 1,75 m and 85 kilos 14-year old teenager...). But don't worry... I will talk with him and you have my word he won't be late again". We went to swim 90 days. We arrived to the bus on time 2. From that moment I knew the value of my "father's in law's word".

I realised of this and I decided to give Lore the love she does no find at home. She was living a hell at home. I wanted to be a good samaritan and rescue her.

She has not real friends... she is not so kind with people as she is with me, or with Jeremy (She needs to feel totally confident to show how loving and kind she is...), and I don't like that. Some months ago I realised that I was being too protective with her, and I decided to give her some "homeworks". "Meet the old friends again, make a "best freind" apart from me. Show to my parents how lovely you are, talk to my mom, come here to cook once a week, come here to sleep with me from time to time!". She said yes to all, she recognised she needed to do that for being a better person. She did nothing... all excuses:

She cooked once (I assisted her, actually... Which was great, I am happy being with her at the kitchen...) but she forgot to do it the following week.
She only came once to sleep... Because "her parents look her weirdly" the following day. Man, she is 25!!! She has the perfect right to come to sleep with his bf if she wants! She can leave home, if she wants!.
She did not help at my home, (And when I say she did not help I mean that she was leaving the pijama in the same place she took it off, at the floor, or never sat up the table... I am not meaning that she did not clean, or made the ironing... I was demmanding something very reasonable). She was "too tired" of helping at "her home" to help at mine. Okay... She was deciding she preffered to be a slave at her home than being sheltered, secure, at mine. It's a symptom.
And her idea of "getting new friends" was to chat with people at the internet... Sorry, I do it as well, and I appreciate to all of those who hear the problems of people when a friend open your chatbox... But "getting out of the eggshell" is not chatting with a friend when I am at the same room... I had a problem of space too.

So, I realised that she didn't really loves me. She wants me as her support, but nothing else. She can't see it now... But I think it's the best option. Then I met a girl. She was the girl I was with before I started with Lore, 9 years ago... She still loves me, and she wants to do everything for me, even renouncing to her dreams of getting off the country to go on studying... In the balance I have a girl who wants to give everything for me... In the other a girl who does nothing to get away from a situation she hates for me... I am sorry... I tried for some months to go on with Lore, but the weight of one plate of the balance is too high.

Nobody already started a topic about this yet? I've searched and apparently not... I just came from cinema. I think it's fantastic, when I get out of the cinema after seeing a Pixar' s movie I always think: "The next one will be worse... They simply can't keep this level". And they do... I think they are one or two steps in front of the competitors, probably "Happy feet" is the only one that got close.

What do you think? I am a Pixar zealot, or do you think the same?

Ok, sorry of this has been asked before (I am quite sure it' s been, but the "search" feature brings million of results) but...

Is there an easy 3-d program? I have tried with google Sketchup, and it' s great! The first minute you get it, you are doing something, it's great for doing sketches to trace over and make 2-d backgrounds... But it's too limited for making "cool looking" 3d backgrounds. I've tried some others, such as blender (I was not able to do a simple line) and true space (easier than blender, but still too difficult...). Is there something as easy as google sketchup... but better? There must be! Any silly 3-d game brings a "good" 3-d program, for example world builder with Company of heroes or the "whatever" (Creature, vehicles, buildings) creator in spore. I think it' s time to bring easy 3-d painting programs to silly people like me.

Well... It' s not really on fire... It' s most significative landscape (along with the Island) is... Some of you who have been here (and with Mittens and private visits you have been quite a lot...) might remember a big mountain with a big hole in the top... Well...

It' s very sad.. many people lives there, 14,000 people evacuated, houses in danger... And some information says the fire reached a zoo... They have released the birds, but I am not sure if they will be able to evacuate all the animals... Tigers, Hippos, monkeys...

Sorry for the stupid thread, but I needed to vent. :/ At least this is ONLY sad, and doesn't make me anger. It's been an accident, we have some kind of hurricane and it put down a high voltage tower. Hope it finishes soon...

Trully amazing, IMO. X10 better than expected, specially considering it was directed by the director of "the incredibles", pixar' s weakest work for me.

I think it deserves an oscar... a "big one", not just the "best animation movie".

Inspired by TerranRich' s work, and how posting the layout here in CL, I decided to give my future website a go... Here it is.

It is a skeptic page debunking the most classical "misteries" in history... Why a submarine? Well... one of the most famous Spanish websites about skepticism is called "Yamato".

I want to give a marine enviroment to everything.

Oh... I have stretched the submarine's height 60%, for avoiding having so much useless space at the top, so, no need to critic that aspect.

Any ideas?

Inspired by my own victory in the last SJ, I introduce you this week' s topic!

SPRITE RUN

-You must paint a character and its vehicle. 2 sprites.

-I want them tiny! Maximum size for the character is 50(tall)X20(wide). Maximum size for the vehicle has to be 140 X 75. No matter if 140 is tall or wide, so you have room to design weird vehicles.

-You must use 16 colours per sprite. That makes 32 as a maximum. No probs if you use a simillar pallete for vehicle and character and you repeat, having less than 32. Background colour won't be had into consideration, so, don' t worry.

-You can post both (vehicle and character) in the same image, being the resultant image bigger than the sizes specificated, but I will download the images to see if the sprites, per sepparated, fit in the restrictions. You can also paint the character "using" the vehicle, but remember that you must not exceed the 140X75 restriction, and post the pallete of both for me to realise you haven't used more than 16 colours per sprite.

-If the character is not inside the vehicle, or riding it, then it has to be in a 3/4 pose (Like my gang thug). The vehicle has to be allways in platform view (lateral, like my motorbike)

-Remember to post both palletes you used. 16 for the vehicle, 16 for the character. You can repeat colours, but post both palletes complete, anyway.

Hello! I am not very friend of publishing hardware/software problems here in gen gen, but there is something that it' s turning me mad. I have an optical mouse, it worked great for years, and still does, but... Sometimes, every 2 or 3 minutes, the cursor moves violently to a corner of the screen, in just an instant, and that movement has nothing to do with something I do with my hand. No parkinson here. Sometimes the cursor dissapears in the upper left side of the screen, sometimes down right... I don' t know how to do. It wouldn' t really be a big problem if that happens only when I aiming with my AA in silent hunter 4 or something, it's just a game, you can aim again propperly the following second after the "bug", but it has spoiled some work in good sprites. it' s really annoying.

I've cleaned my mouse and the "carpet" where it is. Any ideas on how to fix it? Thanks.

Ollie Johnson, the last of the magnificent group of 9 Disney's animators, died on April 14th, aged 95. His death is a great failure for the world of the cartoon and also the end of an era.

Some of you won't probably care, but I liked the guy... the relation he kept with Frank Thomas till his death in 2004 was funny... A good person and a great artist leaves us. At least he had a long and productive live!

Hello! I think this is quite good, but I want some crits before I go on... Any major flaws? I am not looking for a paintover/change of style, move a pixel here and there, but crits about the general motion.

Anyone have ripped graphics from Conrad in Flashback? I did not ripp, or even used his jumping animations as a reference (only the standing up looking to the right for size references) but it might save a lot of work to me to take a look of one of his sprite sheets.

My first question is: Somebody knows what I am talking about? I want to do a little experiment about the coverage of the news around the world... It should be cool if you post something like "Yes, I know what I is this all about, and I am from..." or "No... I am from ... and I have no idea what is all this about"

Hint: In Spain it's the hit parade of the moment, with full coverage, politones downloadable for your cellphone and all that stuff coming in when a new fever starts.

Oh, and just to clarify... I don' t want to start a fight with the Venezuelans. I know some of them, and, as far as I know they might be closer to my King than his Prime Minister ^_^

Kimmi Räikkönen is the new F-1 champion, after bieng second two times before, and after the most dirty years I can remember since, probably, 1991. Congratulations to the Finnish who like him (Since we have Alonso here I can' t simply pressume that having the same nationality as someone is going to mean that you are automatically his fan  ), and specially, those who, like me, tiffo la Scuderia Ferrari.

And deeeep thanks for overtaking in the classification that asshole that I am embarrased to recognise that has the same nationality like me. I' d liked to see the yellow helmet raising the cup again, but... He! Next year Lewis. Thank you as well for winning Fernando.

The curious thing is that, in the two races I have been this year, Kimmi did 0 and only 6 points (Catalunya and Monza), but well... I' t been emotionant, at the end.

George Remi (Better known as Hergé) was born 100 years ago. Many institutions are making tributes to him and his characters, specially Tintin. As an example, the exposition at Pompidour Centre.

I really liked Tintin, the humour, the adventure, and the tecnique... Clear ink line and plain colours. I loved the details and the character developement. I learned a bit of graphic art when I was a child copying my Tintin favourites vignettes.

Here goes my little homage! 

Did you like Tintin? Do you think it' s over rated? And the graphic gurus... Discuss about the style! Discuss about the rumours about new films by Spielberg and about Tintin' s future. Discuss!
