Completed Game Announcements / Re: Gemini Rue

I just finished the game myself and I am blown away. The narrative is simply and truly stunning. It makes a game that is exciting and thrilling to play and more or less satisfying. That is a true achievement considering many triple A games out there these days are simply not satisfying to play or finish. The mood is perfect and I caught onto the whole Cowboy Bebop and Portal thing as well. To think that one man can design a game to this standard is quite astonishing. I can't wait for my CD copy with the soundtrack to arrive now now!

I have one question though, it may sound a bit daft but what was the underlying inspiration behind the philosophy in Sayuri's speech at the end?

Congratulations and I do hope you do extremely well out of this game.

Hi everybody! I am looking for a composer who is willing to write and create some jazz type music (mp3, midi etc...) or something similar for a non-profit (freeware) game.

I and a friend of mine are working on a game called My Neighbour is a Serial Killer. It's a somewhat mental, crazy, wacky etc... little production. The protagonist empathizes with the "serial killer" and decides to help him out. Sam and Max springs to mind (Hit the Road). It is that sort of style of gameplay/atmosphere/mood.

We are thinking of some snazzy, jazzy, wacky type music. Something similar to... Sam and Max: Hit the Road music

The game itself we think will last about an hour and a half. So if you are interested, please PM me or send me an email to sam.storey93@googlemail.com

Wow, that is great! Been looking forward to this for a long time.

I am just writing to congratulate you on making a brilliant atmosphere at the beginning of the game. I felt very nervous and turning round the corner or opening doors.

I am only ten minutes in, but I felt the need to do this before continuing    ;D

Or chatzilla, or XChat... there's plenty of free IRC clients to go around.

How do I join through ChatZilla?

Anyways, how is the cat lady going?  ;D

More importantly, is her cat (still) alright at this point?

Quite!

Edit: Actually I can't talk. Look at the cat on my avatar  :o

It is a shame it didn't make it onto the awards... I voted for it too...

In fact, I find this game not "usual" horror. No silly trash monsters around.. well, except for that axeman shown in demo, heh, but that's rather an exception.

I like to think of it as a psychological horror. For example somebody on the forums had experienced nightmares because of the basement and the sheets.

I feel that's the real way to terrify people. And that's why I loved Downfall  ;D

Just played through it, and 'tis brilliant!

Love the water, reflection effects. The story is quite chilling, some moments were quite unnerving, voice acting is superb (nice to hear British accents  ;D).

The cliff hanger is grinding on me... Must have episode 2! *Gnaws own arm*

Wow!...
I finally downloaded it and played it to the end today. Have been looking forward to it for a while but never got to it until now.

This is a brilliant game! The atmosphere, the story, the characters etc...
I am really impressed with the whole thing in general. Made me feel rather uncomfortable at times and that I highly praise. Not many games these days have managed to do that for me. A thought provoking experience.

Also, Ben and Dan kind of remind me of cruder versions of Dick and Dom, BBC's anarchic (children's :-[) television presenters. Admittedly, I haven't seen or heard of them for near 5 years now, but the memory remains.

Jesus Christ! I just remembered about them! Wow... Ridiculous that they were banned.

Well done you! To get one's game on Steam is like winning the national lottery. First AGS game on Steam?
