Are you sure he wasn't talking about Henry VIII's little-known seventh "wife" ?

Has this game been finished? When I played it it was just the first part - though I think I might have worked out the ending.

I like them, they have retro charm. You've chosen the colours very well.

The only suggestions I'd make would be for the store room exterior.  I think it would look better if, to the left of the building, we could see a fence in the distance, and perhaps colour the hills slightly differently. This would break up the flat ground that the store room is on, and the hills in the distance. As it is, the grass looks a little like a carpet that curls up behind the building if you see what I mean.

The only thing I might suggest is that you change the sign above the door, because I'm not sure it makes sense.

'No Entry Beyond This Point' sort of means that you can go through that door, but no more. Unless this is the meaning you want I'd recommend:
'No Entry', 'No Access' or 'No Unauthorised Personnel Beyond This Point'.

Apart from that, nice work.

I had a shot at fixing the perspective. I tried to make the temple look like it narrowed at the top but didn't lean backwards. I tried to make it so that the widows did not get smaller the higher up on the temple they were, though this meant making the temple bigger.

This is very rough:

I split the temple into two parts as this image shows:

The yellow lines show what parts i selected, and the red lines show how they were stretched. I left the bottom corners in place and pulled the top corners up and out. (I don't know precisely how this is done in photoshop, but it must be relatively simple). I'm not sure I stretched it quite far enough... but I'm sure you could make it look much better than I did with a little experimenting.

Okay, I like them all, but I'm going to choose Redwall because I think the podium worked really well.

Thanks for entering everyone else. It's up to Redwall to post the next Photoshop Phriday... which won't be on friday because it's friday now... I shoukld have finished this yesterday....... didn't realise that until just now.....

....maybe it should just be called Photoshop Contest? Photoshop Jam? Supermazing Photogame? UberPhoto Battle?

Good luck Redwall.

who can possibly hate a game with John Cleese in it?

I don't think it was really John Cleese doing the bomb's voice (yes I sat through the whole credits looking), but Terry Jones was in it, and Adams thanked the whole cast of Friends for some reason.

I agree with the sentiment though, Starship Titanic was a game with a great story.

O Brobostigon and Scraliontis - how could you!?

I like VWG because he sneakily posted twice to get 2 x The Love.

Also, though his sig animation looks like a guy on fire, if it wasn't sliding right to left it would look like a guy rolling on coloured crepe paper.

I can only think of 3:

Liath - terrible translation and a poor interface.
Return to Zork - Nice atmosphere, bad gameplay.
Chronicles of the Sword - awful plot.

Also... I LOVE MYST. I don't get bored because I play Myst games with my girlfriend. Apart from the occasional argument about navigation, it's great.

Photoshopping isn't drawing a completely new image -- It's editing images to create a new image, such as editing one image or combining several images.

Also, you don't have to specifically use Photoshop -- Paint Shop Pro, MSPaint, or any other programs can be used.

Let us try and put out of our minds the excesses of the reign of DG (thanks for choosing me by the way Mr Macphee). I think Photoshop Phriday should be run as a contest like sprite jams, with the winner setting the next topic and so on.

This week's topic is After they were adventure game characters, I want to see the career path chosen by ex-adventure game star/s.

Olivia for example starred in the hit movie Pulp Fandango:

But maybe some other characters did less well for themselves... what do you think?

After I took that game, I swiped some Barnfilmer. You've gotta love it's barny-goodness.

Still... any help?

I hope this is the right forum, I need some help.

I've just bought Alone in the Dark 2 on floppy disks but it doesn't have the manual so I can't solve the copy protection puzzles.

I have some playing cards that help me work out the password/symbol, but I don't have the manual that should tell me which function keys correspond with which symbols.

I'm not trying to do anything illegal - it's not a copied game - I just wondered if anyone could help me... please?

Some of you seemed interested, so here's what the meshes look like:

As you can see it becomes a lot more complex around the top - though I haven't yet managed to make it rough-looking enough.

Also, I din't explain very well what I meant by a compilation background. There are some screenshots from blue ice here which might show what I mean:

Edit: Isegrim, I modelled the tree mainly by hand, I used extrude tools for the roots and a sort of magnet pull thing for the ground. I use a free limited edition version of a japanese modelling program called Metasequoia. Despite the fact that it's named ater a tree, it isn't specifically designed for trees, it's just an ordinary modelling program. I believe Metaseqoia is geared for making low-poly characters to be put into games like Quake, but I find it quite easy to use for this sort of thing (even though the translation from Japanese is tricky at times).

Rap4Life, every time you post an image people (and a colourful sign) tell you not to post bitmaps. Furthermore I'm sure I've heard a moderator ask you to change your signature to something less offensive.

When you ignore this kind of advice, how can you expect help with your work?

EDIT: It seems I dreampt that a moderator asked Rap4life to change his signature, though I believe it has caused some offence. Please don't change your signature on account of me Rap, the point I hoped to make was that by listening to suggestions, especially about posting as a .gif or a .jpg, you could get more helpful feedback.

Gifs and jpegs can mess up the picture, but there are a lot of skilled artists here who post excellent compressed images.

I hope Eric doesn't mind me showing this to illustrate my point:

Also, I think the girl should be called Sandy.

And isn't it an omen of death?

I have a trained lion cub that says I should run photoshop phriday.

Look what happens to those who cross me.

They recently carried out a survey among british school kids. A significant number placed 'gay' as a synonym for 'broken', as in: "My computer is being gay".

The adults of the future are going to have an interesting take on sexual politics - and electrical repair.

It would be dishonest of me to edit my previous post sooo...

I'm stealing the C from your name aptain Mostly...

And perhaps I should read over my posts more thoroughly  :-[.

I'm always correcting people when it comes to the use of words.

So:

Minimi, unless the outcome of a game of poker is can be determined before it is played, then to put money on a hand is gambling. There is skill involved in football, but if I bet on a match I'm still gambling.

I just don't know how someone could make such a maleficious argument.

Perhaps there could be a greater bond than we realise in the relationship between puzzles, background, and meaning in games?

Ain't that the truth?

One of the best things in a game is when you realise the purpose of the places you're visiting. I'm a myst lover, and in playing the games just by observing the backgrounds, If you look carefully enough, you can work out so much of the story (and solve one of the puzzles in Riven).

One of the worst things is an out of place puzzle or obstacle, I mean how many ancient temples and bank vaults are locked with slide-picture-puzzles?

Edit: Oh and, I don't think Barcik's shot of Johnny Depp and Benicio Del Toro is an extreme zoom. The distorted perspective comes from having the camera very close to the subject. If it were an extreme zoom, then Toro's head would be about the same size as Depp's and would be further out of focus.

See, I can be both boring and irrelevant.
