I really like the zombie who's pulling the man's cheek from inside it. Funny.

Hey. That zombie who's biting the man's shoulder isn't a zombie at all, but a disembodied head that one zombie ate that has now broken through the stomach wall. Funny.

It'd be cool if you called it the AGS Library. Or has that already been used?

The eating guy reminds me of that Lilo & Stitch show... (which is pretty awesome, by the way).

Well, actually, the whole repetetive thing is just supposed to be annoying, and it's probably only going to be in the first chapter.

OK, I've gotten past room 1, I've got the bed, the tap, the toilet, the TV, the ID card, and the axe. What do I do next? I presume it's something on floor 3, but I don't know what!

Critics' Lounge / First Chapter of Book

OK. I'm making this book called Soulstealer. It'll be all Tim Burton-esque.
Here's the first chapter:

1____________________________

It was night. Dark night. Not a night that was called Dark Night, but a dark night nonetheless. The streetlights flickered on. A hooded figure hid in the shadows. He was The Menace. The Menace was menacing. Evilly menacing. Maniacally menacing. Menacingly menacing. And quite menacingly and maniacally evil, and menacingly and evilly maniacal. And as a menacingly (e.g. maniacally) evil and menacingly (e.g. evilly)* menace, The Menace almost never did anything. He did practically nothing. Menacingly. But still, he did one thing. He specialized in soul-stealing.
Well, it was more like soul-trading than stealing, as The Menace always gives something to the person in turn for their soul. And his friend did the rest. Like he always said, “I have friends in low places.” Only The Menace understood his phrase, as its answer laid in the pits of Hell, sitting on an evil throne.
If you asked me, The Menace was a truly menacingly menacing, evilly evil, maniacally maniacal menace.
He’d go up to a stranger and read his or her thoughts. Read his/her mind. Read all of his or her wants. And grant it to them, for a small fee: their soul. Though most don’t believe him and take their wants happily, their minds and souls slop away.
         PLOP
The Menace looked up. Just a drop of water.
                    PLOP
It was beginning to annoy the demonic soul-stealer.
                              PLOP
The Menace frantically looked around, trying to find the source of the sound. He found a drooling homeless man in an alley to be the cause.
                                             PLOP
With a raise of The Menace’s hand, the man’s sleeping head spontaneously combusted.
                 The Menace smiled.
And with a swish of his cape, darkness wrapped around him and he disappeared.

*and vice-versa, of course.

'I'll Follow The Sun'

I LOVE this song. Not the first time I've heard it actually. I'm only allowed to listen to the Oldies station on my stereo.

See, what happened was, it was all an innocent prank to scare someone out of their wits so they would leave their house, me, and a geek named Geek break in to  this girls house. She finds us and gives us a lecture on moose. But we kill her. So she comes back from the undead and she's all like, "You've been bad boys." And she goes off to her daddy, the President. And I'm like "Geek you idiot this is the President's house!". And he says "Hop on Pop". And he falls in love with the undead daughter of the President and they become girlfriend and boyfriend. The President (Who is Henry Winkler) gets sad and says "My girl's died and gone off with some geek named Geek!" So he gets the army and air force and such and bring them into a space ship and chop the world in half and the reversed polarity makes everyone except me and my friends and family magnetized freaks with big hair. And the zombie daughter dumps Geek and Arnold Shwartzennegger eats my head. Then I woke up. I read all my Dr. Seuss books before I went to bed, so I presume that's where this nonsense came from.

And next up: Draw my dream from last night (don't use my drawing)

My horrible entry:

man... I don't even know who Commander Keen is. He's that arcade game character, right? He was in a RON game, I think.

Next: Bogus before and after advertisement pictures... of a pig.

A real pig, not a really fat guy.

And since I know most of you can't see that very well, here it is zoomed in:

Note: the zoomed in picture is not my entry. If it was, it'd have too many pixels. The incredibly small one is the entry.

Happenings

It was midnight. I was up later than usual. Looking up research for social studies homework. Deciding the books weren't helping, I flipped on the computer. I logged onto the internet as GeorgeP, just like I always did. Clip clap, I heard the sound of my fingers hitting the keys. Mooooo.
What the... I thought. But it was just one of my AIM buddies, Kork97. What was he doing up so late?

Kork97:sup
GeorgeP:not much doing homework
Kork97:check this out

I looked at the next reply. It was a link. www.agsforums.com.
I didn't bother to look at it.

GeorgeP:no thanx
Kork97:youre missing out
GeorgeP:who cares
Kork97 has logged off at 12:14:56.

I looked at the chatroom. I reluctantly selected the link. Klik.

Soon, I was sent to the world of geekdom, I began to finish homework easily and was making games in days. My first game was small, bad graphics, but fairly good gameplay and storyline. It was called Dragon's Wrath, in which you play a fire-breathing dragon. I burnt it on a CD and  gave it to a friend. He said it was too hard, and he gave it back the next day. Soon realizing I'm better at drawing by hand than by MSPaint, I scanned a few images, and created my second game, Time Out, in which you create a time machine and go back in time, and on accident bring back a few friends--- dinosaurs, knights, and even a robot from the future. I also created Snowburg, The Accidental Superhero, and Killer. Soon I put them on the web.

That's when things got weird. I turned on the news one day. Killings had been reported across America. They showed a map, and noted the times of the happenings. 22 killings. And they showed them linked up by lines. It spelled out AGS. Except for the AGS part, it was exactly like Killer.  I changed the channel. It was more news. In Tokyo, there had been a snow wave--- in the middle of spring. Just like Snowburg. And I turned the TV off when I heard about the time machine.

Yes, a time machine. Russian experts had created an official time machine --- And I knew what was going to happen next. In the newspaper, there was the world's first ever super hero, The Accidental Superhero. I ripped it up. I locked myself in my room, awaiting the terror that would come. Dragons. Dinosaurs. Knights. Robots. It all came so fast. I slowly walked up to the computer and ficked it on. Mooooo. I had left the computer logged on. It was Kork97. I immediately closed the chatroom, and deleted him from my buddy list. I deleted AGS, my games, and my account. GeorgeP was no more. The TV flickered on ominously. The news was on. The snow wave had died down. The time machine broke before the first trip. The killer had been found. The Accidental Superhero had fallen into the Mississippi River. All was well. I got up and unlocked the door, pondering what my next screenname would be.

My turn:

Unskippable text

I don't really care about this one. I mean, hey, with the time it takes you to finish reading it, you could do tons of things awaiting the next small line of text that probably just says "What?". Example, do algebra homework, eat pizza, etc.

Move player as slow as a slug

Heh, this reminds me of the Snail Quest games. But seriously, if it takes the player character 5 minutes to walk to one side of the room to the other, the game's trash.

Crappy GUI with lots of menus

I hate this kind of stuff. But, of course, I only encountered it in "5 Days A Stranger". I don't get around much in the adventure game industry.

Timed puzzles

I only like these when it's like, get a hot dog, and you have 10-40 minutes to find it, but it's not hidden or anything.

Illogical puzzles

I don't care about these. Besides, I usually mess up 5 seconds after I realize it's a puzzle I have to solve. So I always use everything I have with everything I have.

Cool music

Awesome.

No map

I strongly disagree. Maps are cool. Besides, if you want to have every room useful and look awesome, the less rooms, the less work.

Hey, cool, I'm ten too.A few months ago, when I was nine, I posted something here about my age, and I got about seven replies. I think.

Did you misspell Yahtzee (In the 5 Days A Stranger review) on purpose?
