I wanted to use mind mapping for a game I'm making but it proved easier to just write words on paper. If you are working on a big project where several (groups of) people are involved I think mind mapping would prove itself very usefull though.

General Discussion / Re: XBOX360 or PS3?
Tue 26/10/2010 11:42:18
It really all depends on what you want to do with it and which games you want to play. Here are some facts that might help:

  • PS3 has a Blue ray drive while Xbox360 can only play DVDs.
  • xbox live (gold) costs money while Playstayion network is free.
  • Xbox games have achievements, always! PS3 has trophies but not all games have them and not as many.
  • Xbox has a more RAM and video RAM but PS3 has a better processor.

Also look at these list of games. Check out the exclusive parts and see if it matter much to you:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_PlayStation_3_games
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Xbox_360_games

Also it's cheaper to buy an xbox360 but it might cost more in the long run. PS3 games seem to drop in price less then xbox games.
Oh and Xbox360 can also play older xbox games, in case you were wondering. But actually I'm not sure if the newest version of PS3 can even play PS2 games anymore.

Good luck!

I have very little knownledge in 3d programming but it would be great fun to team up with someone who can. I do know how to model in 3d and how realtime shaders work.

That video greatly reminds me of BlackThorn.  :)

I dislike how the site logo is still overshadowed by the big ad above it. I don't mind a few ads to get around but your site logo is so small in comparison.

Not sure if anyone mentioned it, but I would like to suggest:

The room

It's just such a parade of laughter...

And it's not even a comedy!  ;D

Maybe you could put a watermark on each document with the customers name. But that is probably going to be alot of work.

In the options you can set the difficulty to peachfull. That way you won't be attacked at all.

I like peaches.  ;D

oh right ...

But it would actually be great fun if you could have the world full of peaches!  :=

You can also put the button on top as an extra gui but in this case your solution is probably better.

Can I join the AGS server in classic mode? If so... how?

Everyone who is familiar with hidden object games must know what I mean. The objects are hidden but when you click the hint button it shows the first object you are looking for. Usually by placing some kind of halo around where the object is.

I'm having trouble with making this and I've ran out of ideas on how to accomplish it.

the main problem is that every hidden object room has a different number of objects. Plus the hint button is on a GUI and the objects obviously don't work together with the global script.

I've tried using dynamic variables
Arrays And Custom properties.

But I'm running from one problem into another.

Some help please  :)

I tried the free classic version online and had fun building a house under the ground. However it was kind of anoing when I got back on the server and someone had dug a hole in the ground which flood my house. Anyway I'm thinking about buying the full version as it seems alot more fun.

btw, the rollercoaster mine cart video on the homepage sold it for me!  ;D

To be honest. I can't really pretend like this is awesome just because Duke Nukem has a cult status and it was been in development for 12 years. But it's pretty sweet that it is still coming out!  :)
