*sigh* I don't know if I will be done by the Friday at midnight deadline. I do intend to finish, perhaps expand beyond a single room a little. My trouble is not life stuff, just getting my scripts to work properly.

I'll watch the auditions every season, but usually stop there. My favorite has
got to be Leroy Wells. His audition was spectacular, but he was sent home :'(.

I'll give it a whirl  :D

 ???

*edit*

I suppose I should elaborate (that frowny face might be taken the wrong way)- Hero6 is well known on these forums.

actually I've already beaten QFGV with at least one character but it was in like 95, so I don't really remember much of it  :P

So, you managed to get your hands on a super advance copy?

why sketch when i have the ideas in my head?

Well, I can thing of a couple reasons. For starters, I also have the ideas in my head, but without sketching first they will not look much like what I wanted. Take my company screen for instance:

This looks almost exactly like the image I saw in my head. How did I get it so close you ask?

Another reason to sketch first is
QuoteSketches usually serve to store ideas for later use.
Yep, you pretty much nailed it. How many times during  development do you come up with the greatest ideas ever, only to forget what it was days later? You are not always by a computer (well, hopefully). Sketching, though an extra step in creating screens, saves time in most cases

Quote from: Dan2552 on Fri 25/03/2005 22:26:46what i really mean is, i cant draw with a pencil and only sometimes (like this time) i can draw with a mouse
Unless you could mouse before you could write, I believe the opposite is true. You may not be happy with your drawing skill, but that's not so important. Look at my sketch for example. It's not DaVinci, but it got me a lot closer to my vision.

I don't think you have much to worry about Ozzie

'Ello,

I am seeking a co-writer for a game called "the Asinine Allstars". It is centered around a group of four high school kids that are also a pop rock band by the same name. I have a story outline, but it could use a little adding to.

I would at first like to discuss the game and see what kind of puzzle and situation ideas that we can come up with together. At this point, I am looking only for brainstorming as I am waiting for less-wintery weather to begin working on art (The game is set in the town i grew up in, and I still need to take pictures of the areas)

Here is a pic of the main characters. It is not final character art, but they will look something like this:

If this sounds like a winner to you, please contacted me via PM, Yahoo, or the email listed in my profile.

Aside from the neato upward-opening doors, the design of the  DeLorean did not appeal to me. It looks like the exhaust design was inspired by a space shuttle.

What I like most about BTTF are the bounties of memorable dialog. Almost every line from the movies, especially the first, is fun to quote at times. Which reminds me:

11. You frequently end sentences with the words: "Unless you have power!"

12. You think the future sports almanac scheme would work in theory, but begin to ponder if using it would effect the timeline, and when it will start to be inaccurate.

Okay, I'll try:

4. You build elaborate models of your entire town in a matter of hours, down to the last detail, and still apologize for it not being to scale.

5. At pizza hut, you give your compliments to the chef on how well he can hydrate a pizza

6. You spend hours online trying to procure a subscription to "Oh La La"

8 people with me so far, and I intend to drag at least butcher in this, if I can, so 9. Oh boy, hotel rooms.

* Disco assumes the possible Greek Mittens will be held in Athens
Hotel rooms? I found this Athenian campsite. It has a discotheque!

I can only read part of the site though, so I do not know how much it costs.

Good  to hear that Mittens is maybe moving to Europe. I'm from the US and was beginning to settle on Brittens.

As far as location, Sweden is preferable for me moneywise, but Greece intrigues me, so that could be cool. I have not yet announced my first game publicly though, hope that's not an issue.

The thing is, though I doubt it will be, what if the cartoon ended up being okay?

Hey, this is the WB we're talking about, of course it won't be okay. Ever since they cancelled Angel, that network hasn't produced a decent minute of good quality televion. Did anyone see "The Help"? Not awesome.

Anyways, I feel gyped by the WB. I donated a pint of blood twice to save Angel (It didn't work >:(), and I get this freaky Looney Tunes show instead. Grr Argh!

QuoteI'd also like to say that the owl in your logo, as it is, doesn't make me think of the "impressive" part of the "Impressive Owl" (no offense).

None taken and I was kind of thinking "Impressive" might be taken differently then how I intended. The name came first and the sketch soon followed. For a while, when I have been tossing around art and webpage ideas, it was for some reason important to me for the owl to look like that. I wanted the owl to show sort of a gentle expression.

I like your idea though Ozwalled, a scary looking screech owl would look neat as an "Impressive Owl", and it is something I will consider.

Scummbuddy- Thanks for the pointers! I hadn't really thought about it until now, but this image is meant for a company screen or intro to a game, like AGDI's spinning earth, and not as an actual logo. I always envisioned an intro with the owl soaring through the air and swooping into a wooded area and then landing on the branch of a tree, and the words "Impressive Owl Adventures (or Interactive)" So perhaps I was wrong to call it the company logo.

Thanks for the feedback guys!

Here's the new fixed version:

I made the eyes closer to the same size and took some of the blur off the moon and stars. The moon is also less concavey this time.

Yeah, I can see how the blurred stars and moon look odd with an otherwise clear image, thanks for pointing it out.

As far as eyes animating, I want to do that when I switch my avatar to the owl, when the images is further revised.

I'll work on it some and post it later. Thanks guys!

Critics' Lounge / Team Logo
Wed 09/03/2005 22:23:05
Alright, here goes my first post to the Critic's Lounge.

This is the logo for the team or "studio" I wish to release games under, named Impressive Owl.

Something I know I need to improve are my leaves, they just kind of bother me. I made it look better once by pixelizing the leaves layer, but that is something I want to stay away from where logos are concerned. Can anyone please suggest more ways to improve this?

The idea of an Amerittens sounds good for me at least this year, though any kind of "ittens" that is not Mittens sounds kind of watered down to me, however affordable.

I'm heading off to England this summer to check out some Universities and take in the scenery. I can do that any time really so I could probably schedule it alongside Brittens and perhaps a show or so of the looming Jamiroquai tour.

I wish Brittens lasted longer than 3-4 days though... or could it?

QuoteHave something to show for mittens 05? :

I hear that!! I've been saving plane ticket money, but I haven't made a game yet! Maybe by April 26th I'll have a small one made. Perhaps partially at least.

Mittens is alleged to be in Brisbane this year, but has it been decided precisely what dates it will be?

Oh, resolutions...umm... I'd like to start making my "Asinine Allstars" ags game (after lurking the forums for 2 1/2 years), watch a new Joss Whedon show, try at least a one year stint as a vegetarian (I tried this once but became sick of Doritos), and increase my grade point average.
