Wow, it does look awesome. I'm not a manic fan of brawlers, but I do have fond memories of good ol' 90's classics. The MK and SF franchises, of course -- but even more so the more obscure titles like Warriors or Brutal: Paws of Fury. Samurai Shodown was my favorite, though, hands down. Are you going to have such a varied cast like those games, where some characters were of average build, some were really tiny and fast, and some were huge and slow? Or is it going to be more in the vein of, say, Skullgirls?

Wouldn't count on in the upcoming episode, either. Given the recent premiere of A Golden Wake, they're pretty much bound to invite Grundislav.

Oh, wait...

;)

Good episode, indeed. I'm having a hard time taking up big projects these days. Gray took me 2 years and 3 months -- and while it didn't feel that long in retrospect, it is a crazy amount of time to plan into the future. So I've only done little things since -- both of them for MAGS. I do enjoy the process, though. Still doing all the things by myself, so when I'm bored with animating, I just skip to writing dialogue or scripting. Same with comics. The one thing I somehow lost passion for is writing prose -- the ideas are there, oh so many ideas, but I'm paralyzed by the thought of just sitting there STARING AT THE SCREEN for hours, tapping away. I wish there were a way to make it feel more organic. Not pen and paper, I'm too chaotic and I want to be able to rewrite things without making too much of a mess. So I'm sitting and waiting for an e-ink typewriter.

Quote from: Ghost on Fri 10/10/2014 03:20:31I heard rumours once but it seems it really was just a rumour.

It looks like more than just a rumor -- they have an actual website -- and even quite a lengthy trailer. The latter is actually two and a half years old, so can't tell how the project is progressing -- or if it's still alive -- but it's out there, and it does look good.

And so does your remake, Feenyx -- so good luck to you, as well :)

A niech mnie kule bijÃ,,…! Elum's finally done it -- and is also currently working on a Polish translation of Sam & Max! I've already contacted him and I'm currently drinking rum and eating raw fish in preparation for a role in a fully voiced Polish version of Nelly (and then both Sam AND Max, obviously).

Grajta, ludziska! Bo usiekÃ,,â,,¢! (laugh)

Ah, there it is! I thought our suggestions of who to invite next made you realize it's time to axe the podcast! (laugh) But your silence on the matter speaks volumes :P

I meant more like 1999-2000 retro :-D -- because I knew a few from that time, mostly thanks to Game One, the French game channel that we got on our cable back in the day (roll).

Oh man... Aside from games, I dabble in prose and comics -- and the amount of things I started and dropped, or abandoned halfway through, is INSANE. Not to mention these one-sentence ideas and lenghty notes that I never gave up on, it's just that I never gave them more than a minute of my time.

Aaaanyway, back to games. There's one idea that popped up in my head when I was barely starting to work on Gray -- must've been 2011 at the latest. I had a dark idea that'd really profit from the three color palette -- and lo-res graphics similar to Monkey Island 1, with lo-res characters and realistic dialog portraits. But it had to wait till I finish Gray. And then I did -- and I was too worn out to jump right onto the next project. But I kept thinking -- and rethinking the whole thing. Eventually -- inspired by this kinda creepy, kinda goofy story of a dude making a deal with a woman claiming to be a vampire to turn him into one, too (which ended in them meeting and him getting robbed by the woman and her b/f) -- I went for a more comedic approach, and sketched this:

and then decided on this hi-res, gradient-based graphic style (still using the four basic colors)

The basic idea was to draw characters with simple, possibly straight lines and geometric figures. Notice the lack of noses in all characters.

I had a fun idea for gameplay mechanics (and a few plot twists that'd change the gameplay totally), I had funny/silly puzzles... But I had no real story. All it was was just the goofy vampire fella walking around, using inventory items, etc. So I left it and focused on other things. Then I made Monty, now I'm making Magenta -- which is going to take a while. Not to mention I'd like to make sequels for Monty and Gray, got TOO many ideas for thise.

And thus we brought our chances of ever being invited to the show down to zero! (laugh)

Or didn't we?

Screw the interview, all I want is an hour of Deliverants -- with me, Billy Mac, alongside Bubba and Cletus (laugh)

But first, an episode with Ponch's -- a video podcast special, just so that we could see him gettin' jiggy with it in a cow costume.

Do you remember the ancient times when there was no dropbox, no flash drives, no CD-R's? I think I still have a few stories and graphics saved on good ol' 3,5 floppies, buried somewhere in the depths of the bottom shelf. I back up since my teenage, pre-internet days, as often as I can (be bothered to). I've lost sensible data to disk failures, short circuits, viruses, rootkits even (oh, the things that can happen while browsing for refernce on how to draw human eye-lashes up close!), all that. With game folders, I tend to keep copies of at least five pre-release backups, just to be safe. And I'm still kicking myself for throwing out most of the vast collection of my 1991-1999 doodlings back in 2005 -- thinking "Oh, I don't care for these! I will never draw in my life again! NEVARRR!" (laugh)

And you should invite Ponch. He's your number one fan. And then, next week, the next obvious, natural and logical step would be to invite your Biggest Fan No 2!

YES!!! :cheesy: Just when I lost all hope -- and was, again, ready to declar myself a certified thread killer -- you come in and save the day!

OK, your turn! Give us some obscure, retro French game, will ya?

Looks great: the huge pixels, the limited color palette... That screenshot from the intro itself had me nodding in approval (nod) I'm not an RPG guy, nor a manical fan of post-apo -- but I like the aesthetic, and I'm definitely looking forward to it!

Nope, nope and nope. Also: said edible plants are clearly visible in that picture.

There's plenty of somewhat disturbed birds in there, too. But Selmiak's closer -- the title contains edible plants.

Yeah, it was a fun game. I liked the art style and how well it went with the setting -- and I'd recognize those chubby guys everywhere.

Have fun with this one:

Could it be? Kingpin? :cheesy:

Nope, in an ancient 2000 version of Photoshop that I use to this day (only because my 1996 Macromedia xRes won't even install on Win7, even in Win XP compatibility mode). This the regular paintbrush set to Diffuse, set to 10-30% opacity depending on what I need at the moment. I think this'd be much harder to achieve in MS Paint - but not impossible. Most of the graphics in Gray was done in WinXP Paint. I don't like the Win7 one, though.

Dude, you are ON FIRE! At that speed you're gonna have the game out by the first week of November -- and then a sequel by the 15th
