I'm pretty sure it was in the EZboards days, or they wouldn't have bothered to register to post here.

I really like it. I think the colours are great. However, I think the contrast between the mountains and the sky makes the horizon look a bit too jagged.

A quick edit I did:

You maybe weren't going for a "soft" look, but as it's way back in the background, I think it looks better when the horizon isn't as strongly defined as in your original pic.

My 0.02$. Opinions may vary.

I kind of like the first part, but the other parts were pretty rushed. Atleast I managed to finish it! Enjoy.

Spacing shouldn't make any difference at all, so that can't be it.

I have no idea what the problem could be. I think it's one Pumaman himself would have to take a look at.

Red Flagg

It is most excellent.

This is not an entry.
I made this one many months ago, just for fun.
I am just posting it to get things rolling, baby!

Ah, you meant . , and ! then?

Dave went back to Chicago 1930 to visit his uncle Al. Don't believe me? I have photographic proof!

Critics' Lounge / Re:Tips on voice recording?

I just want to point out that a wind screen like Ionias mentioned can be something as simple as a sock put over the microphone.
Take your time, and make sure the voices are consistent when it comes to volume and quality.

Right! This contest is officially over! This is becoming a cliché saying, but I really had a tough time deciding on a winner this time. I enjoyed all four tunes.

First a quick review for every tune:

Geoffkhan
Really nice. Really nice indeed. It has the ambient, mellow atmosphere I was looking for, and the sound is really good. If I had to find a fault, I'd probably say that it's maybe a bit too generic. Slightly more innovation and this would have been... well, even better! :)

BOYD1981
Also a very nice sounding tune. It's kind of old-skoolish, and for some reason it reminds me of the (excellent) AGI game Enclosure. As with Geoffkhan's tune, the only thing I'd ask for is more variation and innovation. It's nice as it is and would fit just great in a sci-fi game, but some more chords and other changes would make it more memorable.

MillsJROSS
Our only midi submission! And it is also a good one! There's nothing to dislike here, I think it fits the theme just right, and it never gets repetitive. Nice one.

Peter Thomas
The most experimental tune of the bunch! I like it a lot. I especially like the sound of the first high pitched strings that bend down. Very atmospheric. Perhaps not ideal for exploration background music, but as you said you did it quickly, and you have indeed every right to think it is nice! :)

So there you have it. Out of these four, I am supposed to choose a winner. I'll just get it over with and choose one quickly:

MillsJROSS!

You win! All the other tunes recieve a very honourable tied 2nd place.
Go ahead and start the next one whenever you're ready.

Ooooh, how mixed feelings I have about new Family Guy episodes.

One part of me is screaming "YES YES about bloody time!"
One part is saying "It could suck."

Here's for hoping the new episodes will be as good as the first three seasons! *drinks tap water*

Hello. It's time again for one of these contest thingies! We've had a lot of rules dealing with odd time signatures and re-defining of the word "music", so this time I thought we'd do something simpler, and adventure game related.

Newbie McNoob has asked you to make a song for his game. The game is a serious science fiction game, where the hero is all alone on a space station where something has gone horribly wrong. Our Hero has seemingly no way of escaping as he wanders through the dark and cramped hallways of what used to be the most prestigious Orbital Laboratory ever launched. And what are those footsteps coming from the vents? Maybe Our Hero isn't alone after all.

McNoob would like some ambient, subtle music to fit this supsenseful theme.

No restrictions.

Woop, thank you, thank you.

I'll start the new one as soon as I can think of something good.

I experience it too, but not really the way you are describing it.

From your description it sounds like you're sure that you've already fallen asleep and started dreaming when you experience these falls. It's not that way for me. I can be lying in bed, eyes closed, just thinking about things, trying to sleep... and then BAM it feels as if the bed has disappeared! I guess it means I've already fallen asleep when that happens, but it certainly doesn't feel that way.

Piano Concerto nr RAAAH!!!!!

Time signatures?! I know that part of it is in 3/4, but the rest is pretty random.

Writing down your dreams is fun. I normally remember my dreams vividly when I wake up, but if I later in the day try to think about what I dreamt, I usually don't remember a thing. But if I write down a just a little about the dreams, it is enough for me to trigger my brain to remember the whole thing.

Here's an example of what I wrote down this morning when I woke up:

"I was participating in some kind of therapy theatre play at the stage of my old elementary school, and my old religion/psychology teacher was the director. When I got home, I had recieved 2 new text messages on my phone. One of them had a carton of apple juice attached. The carton was leaking, so I had to start drinking from it so nothing would spill. I drank until I woke up."

Because I wrote this down, I remember the dream very well. I know exactly what I mean by "therapy theatre play", but I don't have the faintest idea how I would explain it to anybody.

I assume every localized versions have their own street names. The Swedish version I have uses street names from Stockholm, for instance.
