Hi all,

I am currently working on a new horror game that can be assumed as the sequel of Lost in the Nightmare (not a real sequel, as their plots are independent).





I had used pre-rendered backgrounds (actually just screenshots) from the maps I made for the Half-Life 1 engine for Lost in the Nightmare; my intention is to use the Source engine with the same technique (so I think we can consider this game as half mod-half game, like LitN), but with much more animations and a new graphic style.





I am using the Chalk & Charcoal filter first and duplicate the original screenshot onto the filtered image overlaying in order to color it.

The problem is that I think the Chalk & Charcoal filter looks ugly in animations; it creates something like noise on the background. I am sure I am using the same filter settings for the whole frames, but I can't prevent it to look strange when it comes to different frames.

Did you like the new graphic style for the new game?

And do you think I should change the filter I am using? I want to give something like a comics ambience.

Any advice and critique is welcome.

Plug off your modem
Unless you have to talk with your teammates or find resources/help from net, plug your modem off. Stay offline.
Because Internet has a big potential to prevent you from working. You can waste your hours that you should had spent on your game's workings in chat rooms, forums, messengers, etc.

I have played the demo and really liked the style.
My some critiques are;

*Is it really a maze in the end of the demo? At first I thought the whole maze was an illusion and something (except death) would happen after random moves in this illusional maze (and this would be cool idea; our enemies wanted to confuse us), but it seems like it was a real maze that we have to find a certain exit way. If so, I must say that most adventure players hate it.
*I know you will probably do it in the full version, but it would be nice if the story was told us in game, instead of the document of the game (even if it was a demo).

of graphics;
*Some animations look weird (especially the buses, they just ruin the atmosphere). Characters are appearing/disappearing on the screen without walking, at least I would expect the robot to move outside the screen.
*Some items looked weird on the rooms (like the ID card), you could have used a different sprite that's perspective fits to the background.

Whatever happens, it was already predicted by someone.

Let's say that the world will end on 2016. Someone must have already predicted this; while others were predecting it to be earlier than 2016 or later than 2016. And when the world ends in 2016, he can say "Look! I had predicted this, I was right. LOL!".

This applies for the whole predictions; an event happens and someone will say he knew this.

My adviced songs/albums that you probably have already been listening:
Dream Theater/ "Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes from a Memory" album
Opeth/ "Damnation" album, some light tracks like "Face of Melinda","Benighted" from "Still Life" and "The Patterns In The Ivy I/II", "Harvest" from "The Blackwater Park".  (actually my favourite albums are "Morningrise" and "Orchid"; they are so touching, but it is hard to concider them as "light music").

I would love to suggest Şebnem Ferah, my favourite Turkish rock musician, but I don't know how you could supply tracks of her.

@Pixelia: A pain in the ass? I don't think so. You are just asking our opinions about something that was never done before (I don't know if such an adventure game existed before).

If you are afraid of what this game could bring, then just hide your name. It would be hard for the fanatics to find the house address of someone whose nickname is Pixelia. (Maybe they would threaten the owners of the AGS website for holding this game inside the Games database and the game would be removed?) 

I still advise you to be brave and do whatever you want. Violation of women rights in these countries is a serious issue.

I would play it and recommend you to go for it as long as there is something you want to express.

The ingringement of women rights in some Muslim countries is a serious problem (and unfortunately, my own country, Turkey, gradually turns into one of those theocratic nations.). 

I say go for it and be brave.

Yes, it seems the game is still too buggy, many other things I didn't realise (but I couldn't see and wasn't informed about the bug that happens after Saban telling Lost One's story).

The extra level is the events after

trying to shoot Lost One with gun while he is lying on the floor.

The original game used to end when we pulled the trigger; the gun wasn't empty and we would manage to kill Lost One in that scene. What I have added is the events after L.O. escapes from Room 205.

@Everyone:
I am ashamed to say that I have realized a major bug in LitN:SOS.
I had added a GiveScore(6); line to the AGS room where the ending of the game would change (Spoiler: http://dosya.coolbluegames.com/513.jpg ) during the debugging (!) process of the game. I should had removed that line, but I have missed it. For this reason; even if the players didn't collect any points, they can still have the best ending if they manage to get into Room 513.  I have fixed that bug on the Turkish release, though.

I am so sorry for all of these :(

And about meeting a girl in a bar/café; I always find it rude to talk with strangers for sexual purposes. Once I heard a couple of girls talking about me (in a good way) when I was sitting in a cafe alone, maybe I could meet them but it could be rude.

Strange... The inventory screen should be accessable everywhere when Tab button is pressed or mouse cursor is moved to the left corner of the screen. I hadn't received a complain about it not working.
