Hi Surdy, yes- we have plenty of ideas- but they don't really belong in this thread!;) I'll send you an email soon;)

I'm glad more members of the community have picked up TCL recently on Steam- Tabata, Chicky, Babar, DKH- I hope you like it;)

haha I have to say I'm really loving it so far! It's great to have a room window and script open at the same time, really useful.

It would be great to see the full list of new features and an updated manual, though. (I had a dream last night that there's a object.Rotate function there... ;) )

I personally like what Andail suggested, although maybe being introduced next year, when there are more commercial games? (can't think of a single one to be honest... but I'm sure there were some. Conspirocracy?)

One thing everyone should remember, is that commercial AGS games are still often made by one person or a very small group at most, and in most cases on no budget. The scope, the length, the graphics- that's down to the creator's effort and dedication, not shady deals with EA paying for robots to make the high res art for the game. They often start their life as free test-games only to grow bigger and bigger and eventually become commercial. And there's nothing dirty or unfair about it. Look at Cart Life- phenomenal idea followed by a phenomenal success! (and there's nothing expensive or shiny about this one)

At the same time, it's a thing of beauty that so many wonderful free games are being made by the community- the Unfolding Spider, Time Stone, Eternally Us... and many many more. AGS would not be the same without them. I understand they NEED recognition for what they achieve in their own way, as short stories that inspire with creativity and prove that you can make AGS a hobby, and don't necessarily have to say goodbye to your family and job to make them.

Sorry for ranting... ;)

And to add to Primordia issue (although it has been withdrawn, I know) as far as I understand it, it was released in 2012 (one day after me, how could I forget that!;))so... no. I personally don't think it's eligible.

I'm in, officially using this version now...

Scary, but exciting! :)

So far, no bugs.

Kinda reminds me of Morrowind... But I don't think there were palm trees in Morrowind?

Maybe my mistake was downloading L4D2 BETA? I'm updating L4D2 (not BETA) right now, maybe there's more people playing there. For some reason I thought that the party moved over to beta... Anyway, 53% updated, shouldn't take long now;)

EDIT: It was bloody 18GB. Took ages to download...

Quick info- Left4Dead 2 is now free on Steam- if you install it until tomorrow 10 pm, it's yours forever, for 0 moneys.

There are 20 people currently online... Can we assume L4D is dead? Maybe that's why they're giving it away for free... I'm disappointed. Anyone fancy a game?;)

Wait... does not Cat Lady have this kind of interface? :)

Yes and no. I think it would be good to add some things to it (like the cool way dialogue options are displayed on the sides of the screen in console version and you choose them by directional keys + timed dialogue).

Back when I got the idea for it The Walking Dead didn't exist yet. It was more based on Quantic Dreams' interface from Fahrenheit and Heavy Rain to be honest. James scripted it and put it together, and between us we made some changes seeing what worked and what didn't (as always some ideas looked good on paper but didn't play well in game).

But I just thought it would be nice to have a template for the AGS people that would work with different resolutions and could be easily customised.

Maybe it's time to create a template for such game?;) A lot of younger adventure game fans will come here looking for this sort of experience.

Anyone brave enough?;)

The only thing that could be "better" about AdventureX is if it was happening earlier in the year, not in December. That time of the year, aside from very cold weather and rain, is also notoriously hard for getting time off at work... ( I did get it though)

But I guess there must be a good reason to have it in December and I shall just stop grumbling now, since I really loved it;) I will try to go next year and attend both days that time, not just Saturday.

Completed Game Announcements / Re: Time Stone

I was looking for a game to play with my son, and this one was perfect- I enjoyed reading the lines out loud to him, and it was just the right lenght. Cool stuff;) He didn't understand everything, but that's ok, because I could then explain and teach him some new things.

Good graphics and animation, very funny writing, and I like how it all came together in the end.

Also, I noticed mOds did the music;) Awesome!:)

Okay, the object visibility issue seems to be caused by the smooth scrolling & parallax module (setting PxPos>0 leads to always visible objects, unless you script it), and does not have to do anything with 3.3.0 beta.
I apologize.

And if you really need to make them invisible just go for object.Transparency=100; That's the only way to "switch off" objects with parallax.

Also damn, I love that
Spoiler
you can tell Dr. X that both your parents committed suicide when you were little :'D

Which creates the best sub-story somehow... ;)

This is probably the best game I've played so far. The reason I liked this game so much is probably because I also did try suiciding before. Anyway, I am sorry but I had to stop at the start of Chapter Six. My HDD died out all of a sudden. I madly need a save file of the beginning of Chapter Six. If my decisions change the ending, I refused The Queen of Maggots. Any help with save file will be much appreciated.

If you like to help me, location of your save files is;
WinXP: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\<name of game>
Win7: C:\Users\<username>\Saved Games\<name of game>\

Thanks in advance, I also thank you Harvester Games for such an increadible game and I strongly demand another gloomy, dark and obscure game in 2014! :)

Try Steam's community hub- I noticed a lot of people there exchange savegames. I'm sure someone will help you there. I'm sorry I can't provide that- there's been so many different versions of the game my savegames would not work anymore... Also- thanks for kind comments;)

I'll gladly give The Cat Lady steam key to someone who PMs me first!;) All I'd like in return is a good name for a game character;)

It was great chatting with you grim, wished you stayed a day or so more.
hey, maybe you can join mods in a few months when he's visiting my town, that would be great :)

I would love that!

Let me know in advance so I can arrange some time off at work.
#256
I had a lot of fun. Thanks to everyone involved!;)

Meeting mOds and Arjon was the best part for me (even better than shaking hands with Charles Cecil and giving my first ever autograph to Astrid from AdventureGamers!;) ). You guys are awesome. I wish you lived down the road so I could see you every day.... ;)

Oh yeah, and the coffee was great;)
#257
It was nice meeting you at AdvX. I wish you good luck with your project! Really liked it. The flying fish is awesome;)

Don't forget to go crazy with those dreams the protagonist is having- that is by far my favorite thing about the game and there's a lot of potential there.

#258
It looks better though!;)

Hey Mods,

What are the new things in the Steam Edition?

I finally fixed the "deer" bug!!!;)

And I like the look of the new fonts and improved save system.

#260
And I'm coming too;)

Still can't believe they have a place called "Dirty Dicks" there... but that's where I'll be heading straight off the Exeter to London coach;)
