The fairy (I must change the spelling in my game <g>) gives you one sphere that gives you the power to stun and freeze some creatues (have you seen any you can use it on). When you have used it maybe you have time to admire the nature around you... And make sure you look at your items in the inventory list

Spoiler
Well, the entrance to where the light source can be found is a couple of screens south of the stairs. But you'll need some magical power to get in there. How many magical spheres have you found? Have you talked to the Ferry of the Heart?

Igor:

I think the main reason it looks much like SNES RPG games is because I've created all the backgrounds using bitmap tiles, however I'm not sure that I want to change the GUI though...

FenderQ:
Spoiler
It's fully possible to escape from the monster even if he has started chasing you simply by leaving the screen (or the room to use AGS terms, but it's not really a room, is it  :)). But the thing is that you should not always try to escape from him...

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Spoiler
I'm sorry that I keep on asking but I'm still stuck...
I've been to the museum, and I've got the message from the statue. I know from reading an earlier post in this thread that I'm supposed to enter the numbers from this note in the console. The only console I've found is the one in the lab but that doesn't allow me to enter anything so I must have missed something else...

Please give me a new hint...

Ratracer:
Spoiler
Yes I've been to the administration meeting room and I think I've got everything from there. I've also talked to Phil and read the paper, I've found the way to the dock but I can't enter it since it's locked. I've also got Peters address and i've rescued the editor. A strange thing is that when I searched Peter I found two keys, but after I've opened the second door and was moved back to the office I lost both of them...

I'm totally stucked and would appreciate a hint...
Spoiler
I've made a copy of the key found in the museum but I don't know what to do with it yet.
I know I'm supposed to visit the museum somehow but currently I've only been able to go to the staff room.
Please give me some hint on what to do next...

I've also noticed some strange behaviour in the game. Nothing serious but I though I should mention them...
Spoiler
After I had opened the post-box and returned the key to the man outside I tried to put back the suit in the hole but got a message that I still need it. I then tried to leave the screen and instantly got the message that the suit should be returned first.
Also the butler keeps saying "The vice-consul is not at the moment" which makes me think "is not what?"...

Apart from that I think it's a great game, I really enjoy playing it.

Hi gang,
[ *OLD STUFF * ]
I've just completed part one of the first game I've ever made with AGS. It's called Melrin: The Desciple Ordeal, and I can't really tell you to much about it because the game starts with that our hero Melrin is in a strange land and he has no idea how he camed there, or why. Actually he doesn't remember anything, beside his name. So your job is first to find out how he camed there and why?

That's the first mission in the game, and because of that I can't tell you anything more about it.
[/ * OLD STUFF * ]
This is now the full 4 part game. I've changed the GUI a bit and also the resolution to 640x480 so you wont be confused by all the scrolling rooms.

You can download it from here:
http://www.brixoft.net/Melrin.zip (3.xx MB)

Please let me know what you think of it, just keep in mind that this is my very first game... Ã, :)

Cheers,

Joacim
