You could just lower the image down and draw more stuff at the top, so you don't have loads of floor space. How about that?

EDIT: I'll do a mock up if you don't follow me.

I am not wearing any pants

This guy always cracks me up!

By pants, in the american or british sense? I'm REALLY interested in knowing!
#3023
Will do, cheers!  :D

Thanks! No I'm not because it didn't seem reccomended.

Will using 2.71 screw up my current game I'm making?

EDIT: Oh! Is 2.71 no longer BETA?

Okay, this is really ticking me off now!

Why is it sometimes, (and especially right now) that when I drag the hotspot's walk-to point to where I want it, and click off the screen onto another, or test the game.. I often find the walk-to point marker has moved somewhere else on the screen? I've had to move two hotspots to the right place just now, three times! They won't stick! (I know not to have them overlaying each other exactly)

This is more annoying than the me wanting two hotspots on top of each other without the other one being wiped!

(Not to sound ungrateful for such a wonderful program!)

General Discussion / Re: Dvorak Keyboard
Mon 02/01/2006 22:50:27
If learnt properly the dvorak keyboard shaves off time trying to get your fingers to the most used letters. Seriously.

But I don't think I could ever use that, not after years of instintively knowing the keyboard layout!

I'm not so sure about adding bass, because it's quite an enlightening track with... etheral qualities?

but the drum beat, for me, doesn't gel well with the music and loops to quickly.

EDIT: by looping too quickly, I mean it's repetitive.

the guitars remind me a bit of the Cure! :)

Overall though I can't wait to hear this whilst solving puzzles!

Welcome to the AGS Community!

Just some simple advice:

1) Do not mention anything concerning religion! (People here tend to jump all over anyone that expresses their beliefs.)

Well... they kind of ignored their own advice by mentioning religion. Although it did prove a point!

Okay lets all label oursleves woohoo! I'm agnostic!
#3030
That's exactly what I would have tried, but it's best to leave it to the pro's like you strazer! I must be learning something!  :D
#3031
well, there must be a way to have it say paw instead! Don't give up yet!
#3032
I prefer the one on the right, just outta personal preference.

by the way is this character actually russian and german? Does it not take away some of the mystery?
#3033
Ah I see! Thanks Strazer! Why are they inforced in such a manner, do you know?

Your pixel thing works, but it makes the window unevenly shaped, and it seems that the object shift by one pixel in paint seems to work anyway...

Thanks for trying to help dkh! I'm guessing you use the smaller resolution then?

*Pauses Our Lady Peace to listen*

Yeah I dig this! it's cool!

I think the main guitar is a bit too much louder than the rest of the music. I think it needs lowering in volume just slightly.
#3035
That's really strange!Ã,  :o

It's just not possible for me to drag it on to the exact spot. It just skips a pixel even when moving the cursor as slow as possible! I even tried dragging it with my graphics tablet, but to no avail!

Are you using 2.7?
#3036
Nah, thanks but that didn't work either.

Neither of your ideas.

Are you telling me no one else suffers from this problem? I've never noticed anyone else's games having misaligned objects. :(
#3037
Yeah, it's through that method that it is inaccurate!
#3038
Okay, either it's a limitation of the program, or there is an alternate way of doing it so it is precise.

most often I will create a new object, and place it on my background. Lets say it is an open window that will be on top of the closed one on the background. I place it there, but it is either two pixels too much to the left, or two pixels too much to the right. The only solution I know of is to keep going into paint and pasting the object one pixel to the left or right.

Am I missing something here? It's driving me nuts!
#3039
Sorry, refresh my mind, which game is Jonny from?
