General Discussion / Re:Ancestors

like all good mormons, I have done my family history pretty far back. here's the highlights

My mother is from brasil, where her family had lived for hundreds and hundreds of years, since her grandparents I think  are native brazilian indians. along some branch we get the portuguese explorers. the fartherest we have there are some links to french royality in the 1300's I think.

My dad is from southern california. His parents were born in mexico, along with his parents. I guess that when the mormons went west to utah, a few of them fled america in fear of more mobs coming and killing them. I guess my grandparents were buddy buddy with panco villa? we have a picture of them together. farther back, my dad's ancestors were amoung the first mormons, starting all the way back when the church hq was in northen ohio. before that, they lived in England. we have them traced...to...french royalaty in the 1300's I think. prehaps my parents knew each other 700 years before hand?

forgive my stupididy, but I read this entire thread, and still dont know the answer.
is the only way to get this game by using a program caleld e-mule? e-donkey? eh? never heard of them) or kazaa? or is it actually hosted somewhere? cause kazaa is virus filled, and the RIAA lives there...lying in wait.

can I use winmx?

I hardly think that whoever owns Doug, (which I thought was taken off the air when they sold it to Disney or whatver when i was 11), is really going to care too much about a little amutuer adventure gamer making a freeware game about them. We've had people do MI fangames, Zak Fangames, and make enough pop culture references to fill a large book...no lawsuits.

that being said...dont do a game based on a tv show. Invent your idea. its more fun that way

General Discussion / Re:Send Shitar to Germany

I think GAAP stands for Global American Ambasadors Program or something. We have something similar in ohio called ASF I think...Basically, it sends kids arcoss the world so they can get a better understanding about other cultures, make them more mature, and have the other people see that not all americans are dicks. My school currently has students visting from brasil, (interestingly enough, she lives about 20 min from where my family grew up at, and claims to have heard of my uncle from his playing days of Brasilian club soccer...althought I doubt that), and we also have a studnet from japan and germany.

I would do it, but as lgm and shithead...shitar have shown, its very expensive. Good idea tho.

Indiana Jones(Played by Harrison Ford) - The greatest action hero, i may like him more because of the games though :O I just love the action, and theme :-*

Dark Helmet(Played by Rick Moranis) (Space Balls) - A hilarious parody of Darth Vadar and the giant helmet :D

Darth Vader(Played by David Prowse, Voice by James Earl Jones) - The ultimate baddie, with the use of his force powers, he can squeeze your balls from across the room!

Lester Burnham(Played by Kevin Spacey) (American Beauty) - "My job requires mostly masking my contempt for the assholes in charge, and, at least once a day, retiring to the men's room so I can jerk off while I fantasize about a life that less closely resembles Hell."

Terminator(Played by The Govenor Of California) - Childhood (I was about 6 when i saw the first movie) Hero! :D

Atticus Finch)Played by Gregory Peck) (To kill a Mocking Bird) - Excellent job of bringing the character to the big screen.

Peter Pan(Played by Robin Williams) (from HOOK) - Another child hood favourite i guess :)

That'll do for now

great list. I'd the Blues Brothers, James Bond, and tom cruise's character in The Last Samurai, which is rapidly becoming my new favorite, non-funny movie.

pfft, US attack Russia? is this kid nuts?

no way america attacks the only country with a nuke arsenal almost as great as ours.
This isnt the cold war anymore. I actually think that america looks to be out of the war bussiness for a while..although I woulnt be surprised to see troops in less combantant roles in other nations
