Acctually, I have a island editor for gta3 for pc... Havnt used it thought... If I find it would you want it?

I'm guessing I'm going to have to get a GTA3-specced PC first!  Got to love PS2s, none of this "My graphics Card doesn't like DirectX texture Compression, I need another 600Mb of hard drive space!!"

Thank's evil, I might take you up on that offer at some point.

Getting to the airport from gothenburg city  is supposed to be idiot proof; there's a couch leaving for each flight. The ride is for 50-60 kronor, equivalently 4-5 pounds.
You see, Ryan-air doesn't fly from the main city airport, but from (and to) a tiny little airport some twenty kilometers in the other direction. I think only Ryan-air and some private planes ever use that airport.

Thanks Andail,

So what you're saying is that if we were flying to the main airport we'd be laughing, but cheap flights mean we land at nowheresville!  Do you know what the transport is like?  How much would a cab be?  Are the local buses any good!

To put this in perspective people, good old advanced England  ;D last year left JetXl £50 light in the wallet for his cab fare (one way!) and the bus from Laleham to Staines was once(?) an hour!

Not that I'm trying to put people off or make excuses, but it's better to iron out these details now as much as possible than at the airport.

You here that Chris?  You're bringing the Car as excess luggage!  Better splash out on some new tape for the windscreen!

matt goble, you might consider reading the thread before you post?

m0ds

Which thread?  Where?  This One?   ;)

I knew months ago it had been discussed the pros and cons of the various flights - but it seemed Chris had suddenly gone against all he had been saying!  I just wondered what his secret was!

Brain is starting to hurt with two Mitten's threads - must be old age and whatnot...

Myself, AGA and scotch are going by car, so this won't be a problem for us.  However, as I say depending on how you're getting to/from the airport, some of you may well want to get the earlier return flight.

Bagsy I get the roof rack!

Seriously  how easy is it to get to the airport at Gothenberg?  Andail?

The most cheap/promising-looking one I've found is from www.ryanair.com and leaves London Stansted at 10:50(am) on Monday 28th July and leaves Gothenburg at 21:05(pm) on Friday 1st August. The cost is £19.99 both ways (without tax), which comes to £61.22 all included with tax and fees...

I'm concerned about getting transport from the airport on the way back. If it leaves Sweden at 21:05, then presumably it'll be about 23:00 before we leave Stansted airport. At that time, it won't be possible for me to get a train home.

We really need to be out of the airport by 21:00 at the latest, so an earlier flight home is essential IMO.

Chris,

What are you doing about this now, as this is the flight people are taking?

I still need to look into book this time off - already booked some time off on friday so I need to scope the land with my new boss about booking time again!

Saving as "room301.crm" will load in the game, but rooms >300 do not appear in the room list in the editor.

Would it be possible to have rooms above 300 appear in the list, so that people can keep track of which room is which view?  Perhaps they could be in italic which a note saying they are Non State Savable or something.

No, I will be the tender age of 25 at this year's Mittens - more worringly, I think Chris maybe a year or so younger  :-\

I'm just need to find out from work if I can get that week off.

I agree with Chris about the travel times, bearing in mind most of us may need to get connecting trains elsewhere (Who goes direct to Stanstead?)

Also, we don't want to aiming for the last train of the night, cos you just know they'll cancel it!

So THATS why that guy was screaming "SHUT THE FCUK UP!".

Seriously, AGA was the 'camp bitch / bike'  of 2002

Crikey.

You'll have to keep an eye on them Chris - they might just break the bank when it comes to QfG2VGA!!

This is why I suggested the stats option in AGS originally, I like to be stunned by numbers!

Erpy, as you oversaw the beta-testing side of things, how did you QC something of that size?  My day to day job involves testing, and we're never 100% certain we've tried everything.  I know a couple of years ago I did a weeks work experience testing for Bullfrog on Dungeon Keeper Deeper Dungeons and found a bug which the guys believe was probably in the original:  If you posses a chicken just before you get eaten (easiest method by a prisoner), then the screen goes red and the game completely locks up - I'm kind of sick that way!!!

What were some of the more unusual bugs you came across?

(cough cough)

Getting things back on subject, I've downloaded KQ2VGA at work and had a bit of a play with it.  Personally I prefer creating games than playing them, in paticular because I'm not very good at playing games!

I'm guessing that KQ2VGA is probably the biggest game yet created with AGS and was wondering if Erpy would mine dishing out a few facts (maybe this is better suited for Tierra's forums, but I've forgotten my ezboard password).

So how about it guys?  How many sprites, views, rooms etc did the game use in the end?

Even if I don't play games, I recognise quality when I see it - job well done boys and girls!
