Well, crap, it seems I'm too late. I made this sprite before seeing Mr Suit's entry. Does my entry still count?

Indeed, many bands today are only heavy for the sake of being heavy. Based on the stuff you already like, I can't recommend anything for you. I didn't see you mentioning anything progressive, however. If you still want to try something new, here are some quick suggestions:

Adagio: Progressive Metal
Veni Domine: One of my favourite bands of all time. The clips on myspace are from their more recent stuff, which are nothing compared to their older stuff. I suggest you try and find songs from Material Sanctuary or Fall Babylon Fall somewhere.
Spiral Architect: Progressive metal with crazy weird structures and bass lines. (their myspace seems to have disappeared)
Orphaned Land: A Progressive Metal band with middle-eastern influences
Dryad's Tree: More progressive stuff...
Winds: Progressive...
Sanctifica: First album is pure Black Metal, second album is experimental Progressive Metal
Essence of Sorrow: Progressive Metal

I'm a Christian and I don't care whether evolution is fake or not. I just don't. That's not at all what Christianity is about.

That's all I'm going to say, I don't wish to get into a religious debate again.

I believe it's also a very flexible engine, though a bit harder to use. If you plan to make a modern looking game (high-res, sprites with an alpha channel) then I think Wintermute would be faster and more stable.

Christmas was initially a Pagan celebration, but the early Christians adapted it to the Christian religion. There was nothing wrong with that, just like there is nothing wrong with people today celebrating Christmas as they see fit.

But thanks for the link anyway, I will show that to a few people I know who went on a war against Xmas and Christmas trees and see how they react.

I don't have a favourite book, but I enjoy fantasy most of all.

Currently I'm reading the books based on the Realm of the Elderlings. In particular, I'm on the third book of the first trilogy, the Assassin's Quest.

I'm really enjoying it so far, there's some great use of language, believable and unexpected plot development (no, I'm not speaking of cheesy "twists"), with interesting characters. I'd recommend it to more than just fantasy fans.

yeah, well, a friend of mine uploaded a video with herself pretending to be another friend of mine, in a mocking sort of way. I was mentioned, with my full name (which is fairly unique, I doubt there's anyone else with the same name), as the boyfriend she loves "very very very much".

It was embarrassing enough for me, now if I was included in one of those other videos, where people are really insulted and diminished... That'd be extremely painful for me.

I agree to what Scraseface said, but I also think that you must add the bounce in this animation as well.

Other than that, there is something weird going on with the left hand when it is further forward, to me it looks like it's shaking or something.

Mozesh's idea of a less static head is good, but his edit was a bit extreme, I think, it should move about less.

I haven't taken a pic of me in a long while...

So here's me at home.

And here's me at the army, trying to fake an emo pose...

I only drink canned chocolate milk. There's some kind of manufactured goodness in it that you will never accomplish by mixing in the powder yourself.

I made a small edit of the original, it's just an idea. I think it's easier to read this way.

Well I already know about Slayer, but I still don't like its sound. But thank you anyway, I might find something else.

This sounds good, but it's expensive http://www.soundsonline.com/Quantum-Leap-Ministry-Of-Rock-pr-EW-173.html

Is this the same as the Game Boy version? What are the differences?

I used to be playing that on the Game Boy when I was much younger, but because I had no grasp of English at that time I got stuck somewhere and had no idea of what to do.

Thanks for the comments :)

I do like the drums, so I don't know. I won't change the midi, but I'll certainly keep the cymbals in mind when I make a high quality version (which won't be any time soon).

I've been working on this midi for a while, and I think I now consider it finished - it's a song with non-existent lyrics, but I might decide to add them one of these days.

Well, it's not like my usual stuff, because I've been experimenting. The style is something like symphonic metal, I assume. It doesn't have any complex guitar riffs, but at least it's not repetitive.

It's 4:53 long... link: http://www.2dadventure.com/ags/herguardian.mid

It tried to make it sound as good as possible for a midi. I don't know when I'll be able to escape the midi phase, but I find it difficult mostly for two reasons:
a) I can't find and/or afford good software for it - cubase is like 400 euros...FL Studio is horrible, and trackers are just not my thing.
b) I can't find anything that emulates an electric guitar with any close resemblance to reality and/or with a bearable sound.

I also love the character portraits. Andail's edit does clean it up a bit, but it loses the charm of the original portrait.

And I totally agree with voh, you do have a lot of talent and it's a shame to let it go to waste.
