Haha, that's brilliant, Grundislav. I love the news readers' comments in the end of the video.

(mainly because it suggested he had english classes).

Believe it or not, they teach English in Finnish schools (atleast I believe Rolf was supposed to be a Finn, what with his personal text being "Suomi4life!").

Dude, just let it be. If he was someone's alter ego, he managed to be funny for a moment. If he was some newbie trying a memoriable entrance, it didn't really work. Everyone can make their own speculations in their own minds. planktonman, on the other hand, is clearly someone's alter ego and fails at being funny.

Besides, Rolf's comic rocked.

If you're too lazy, you can also watch the video on this page: http://bisqwit.iki.fi/nesvideos/movies.cgi?systemid=2 It's listed as "SNES Contra 3".

It's pretty good, Contra hack, more or less.

Hehe. The European version was called Probotector and featured robots instead of shirtless hunks. I have always preferred Probotector over Contra! And yeah, it's pretty good. The original is one of my favourite Nes games. I still haven't managed to beat it without the notorious Konami code.

There was also a Nes port. The final boss looks a bit different in it: http://www.mobygames.com/game/nes/super-c/screenshots/gameShotId,48067/

I just ran this.

My computer didn't even meet the minimum requirements! I didn't realize that the games nowadays need so powerful computer, when did that happen? So no, I don't think I will be buying it anytime soon.

On the other hand, I haven't even played the full version of TLJ yet. I saw it in bargain bin the other day, though...

Very interesting.

The introduction reminded me of Fallout but the game itself is nothing like that. I was kinda disappointed when I first heard the protagonist's goofy voice, but the acting is good, didn't make me want to turn the voices off.

Cutscenes, graphics, music, awesome.

The interface is great! I'm loving it, very refreshing choice (I don't think I have ever played an adventure game with this kind of interface before) and easy to use. Though I was hoping there would be some way to examine inventory items.

Also yeah, not being able to save over existing saved games is baaaad, and the game could have used some spell checking, too.

But very interesting game you've got here, I haven't played much yet but I'll surely will!

Double post, sue me if you want.

I have this old project file which is a mess, however, there is this neat sequence which I'd like to use in the new project. I tried to delete all the imported video clips from the old project file (I was planning to import them again and organize them better so that I could just use the old project file to create the new project), but Premiere also deleted everything from the timeline so that didn't work. I also tried to simply copy the neat sequence from the timeline to the new project file, but no, that didn't work either.

Now what? I could simply export the sequence in AVI and then import it to the new project, but I'd rather if the sequence wasn't in one piece in case I need to tweak it later on.

(I was hoping I would get this project nicely started tonight, but Premiere has managed to amaze me so many times already. I could have spend the little of spare time I have to something way more productive. Shame on you, Adobe.)

E D I T :
This is getting ridiculous. I went for the export to AVI -route after all... but now the exporting process stops when it's about halfway through, crashing Premiere. What does Adobe have against me?

Wheeeeeee, it works now. Thanks a bunch, GG! I actually did Google, but found some random forum thread where someone only said that XviD won't work in Premiere, period.

Hello, I'm editing a video.

Except that I haven't got started yet because Adobe Premiere Pro doesn't behave. I have a bunch of videos that I converted to XviD-format because otherwise I would have ran out of harddrive space. Premiere doesn't seem to like XviDs though. Everything else works fine except the preview image and just imagine how hard it is to try and edit a video if the preview doesn't work. Even sound works ok.

I would use uncompressed AVIs, but my harddrive space is limited. I tried some other formats too, but encountered the same problem. And converting to some formats took way too long even if the file size would have been okay (I'm using VirtualDub to convert, by the way).

So I'm stumped now. Converting ~300 video clips to XviD took a while and that was the fastest format to convert to. Video and sound quality were fine and would have suited my needs very well, but damn Premiere just had to mess it all up.

Please help me, my life may depend on it.

Take a look at your favourites or whereever is your most-used link. Where *does* it link?

Spoiler

The forums.

Wrong!

Because, ok.

I must say that was quite an experience (not in bad way though). :P

I have bookeded too now, so I guess I'm really officially in. I'll be arriving in Alicante at 13:25 on 16th and I'll be leaving Alicante behind ( :( ) at 14:50 on 23rd. The flight back to Finland has two stops and I'm back in Helsinki the next day! Talk about madness, I'll be dead when I get back home.

See you all there! Is anyone else arriving around that time? We could catch up and travel to Benidorm together!

"Bad news, everyone. My harddrive crashed and with it went the AGS source code."

I don't know if you know about Fallout 1 & 2 (released in the late 90s though) but they are both some of the awesomest games out there. I'd also second Diablo II: Lord of Destruction, Beyond Good & Evil and Psychonauts.

Uhh, I'm battling with my flight plan. I found a lowfare airline (the cheapest option I've found so far) that would get me to Barcelona, but they fly only on Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday. So I would get to Barcelona on Tuesday the 15th, which would be good timing, but I would have wait until Saturday the 26th to get back home. So, unless you Brits would be up for staying in Spain until 26th (I'm not planning to stay there alone) I'm just going to fly to Alicante and that's it.

And so raises the same question again. Any idea when you people are arriving in Alicante?
#216
Okay, I'll be booking as soon as I know when some of the other people are arriving. Anyone booked yet? When are you arriving in Alicante? I'll be flying from Helsinki to Alicante after all, less hassle and the prices would be pretty much the same no matter how I travelled. I'm looking into arriving early in the morning of 16th, though if someone is arriving a day early in ALC, I could look into that as well.

So yeah, post here when you know at what time you're arriving ok.

EDIT: I had a brief chat with Pessi and he said he'd like to come but as he can't confirm if he is able to go or not until in May, it looks like a sticky situation. Maybe you could put him into the list of maybies? Maybe I should persuade him into posting here in this very thread by himself?

AGA, scotch and myself are planning to get a flight to Barcelona and then train/bus/hire car it down to Benidorm, since that would work out cheaper than the rather expensive direct flights to Alicante; and perhaps go down a day early or come back a day late, to have some time to explore Barcelona.

Anyone else interested in doing this?

I am. I'll check the prices of flights to see whether I'll fly to London first or straight to Barcelona from Helsinki. I'll get back to you later.

E D I T
It seems flying straight to Barcelona would be only few tens of euros cheaper than flying straight to Alicante. We'll see what I'm going to do.

Sorry for this off-topicness madness.

He-Man, that's a fantastic track. The scratching is also very good, did you do it by yourself? I can imagine the juggling show bspeers could pull out with this track!

1) when they stop charging $15 for a 3 cent piece of plastic I might start buying CDs again

$15 for music cds? That is ~12â,¬, which is half of what we pay for them here. I can't believe you're bickering over how expensive they are.

Should I move to the US now or later?
