Probably.

They'd hate ANYONE who could see what the whole product was like. I know I would.

That website's gone to a lot of trouble to appear convincing. And it certainly does the trick. It's not the sort of site that I'd expect to pull an April Fool's, so normally I'd buy into it....

What I think is stupid is you have music celebs jumping on the anti-Napster/anti-Kazaa bandwagon because they're looking for a scapegoat to blame for poor album sales.

That is about the most pleasing statement I have heard all day.

It drives me absolutely NUTS to hear those talentless singers being interviewed, and being reduced to tears because "stupid youngin's are downloading their music instead of buying it!" If I found half those songs on my comp, I'd probably pay someone to take them OFF!

Someone clarify for me why you would fill your bathtub and sinks?!

Forgive me for not knowing all there is to know about the un-dead...

Perhaps I shall pay more attention when they come door-knocking...

I love a happy ending.

I'm still confused.

Was this an april fools, or a post to try and get people to convince you to start again to renew motivation or what??!!

That is great! Haha! It should go national.

"STREBLO!"

cool. I was going to do an mp3 by default, but then realised that a lot of people make games intentionally suited for midi's. Just double checking  ;D 8)

I shall get stared soon. (Hopefully :D)
#769
Do you want old-school sounds, like in God of Thunder, and all those sort of 'harpsichord' sort of pieces? Or are you after more orchestral sort of things?! Also - do you want midi (generally associated with rpg's, using 'plastic' sounds (that's just what I call them, coz they sound fake)) or mp3's with 'realistic' intstruments (like most modern games).

*sigh* You must just generally be nasty!! :D

When you say a setting in America, does it have to contain relevant information? Because, living in Australia, I wouldn't have a clue about what happens in which city. So can I just say "yup - it's in New York" and then continue the story so that it could really be set in 'any' big city?
#772
I was actually thinking about this for a theme should I have won sooner or later. I think it's great.

I shall start on it right away.

(Just so you know, that last sentence is purely for personal motivation. Chances are 9:1 that I won't do it until the last day, but by saying that I'll do it now makes me feel guilty when I don't. But that will probably make little difference either :D)

I believe this was the most popular internet prank of 2004. It originated in 1994, and was so widely used that it became 'common knowledge'.  So it wasn't touched again until know, and suddenly it's like the whole world falling for it again. 2 million copies of this email were forwarded in about 5 hours.... ( I think)

It's actually quite funny if you think about what it would be like if it were true...
#774
Hmm..... I remember playing this a long long long time ago ('bout a month back  ;D), but I can't remember exactly what my score was. I think after about 45 minutes I managed to get around 1200. And by then I was like "argh! I hate penguins!"

And then I had to look at lots of photos of penguins to remember that I actually did like them...

EDIT: Why were you at yonkis.com??  ;D It's not perhaps the most.... family friendly site... Or did you get it off Albinoblacksheep like me?
#775
Yeah... the fact that you've given us a whole month to do it in as opposed to a week is sort of a give away. As is the fact that it's in Gen. Discussion (although that could've been the mods...)

I'll whip something up for you to listen to, but should you use it I demand to be on the credits  8) ;D

Cheers.

(P.S - as Migs said, you'd probably get more responses if you just came out and said you wanted music. Most musicians are just glad to hear their music put to a game, so they'll do anything  ;))
#776
You go to that much trouble to avoid subtitles?

Most of the time they're funnier than the movie itself...

I think digital piracy should be made legal. In fact, it should be ENDORSED! It would save a lot of work for the people who have to chase you up, and it saves you having to work behind the government's back and (possibly, maybe) feeling bad about it. So everyone wins, really.

Why didn't they think of this before?
#778
I don't by it.

You telling me Donald Trump doesn't have anything to do with your game?

BAH! HUMBUG!
#779
This thread is completely weird.

And Donald Trump is ugly.

And this looks set to be one of the worst reality TV series of alltime...

But then again that doesn't really matter, because he's REAL job is obviously voice-acting for Geoff. Naturally...

That's a pretty devastating story.

I can see where Farl is coming from (saying that it's better to learn your lesson young), but I sort of disagree in some respects. I think kids who learn to be drunk as kids are learning to be drunk as adults.

There aren't that many drinkers I know who have undergone a radical transformation and realised that they're screwing up a lot of (possible) things in their life. They just learn to 'cope' with being pissed, and think that they can get away with it.

Which is stupid.

Damn.... I seem to be posting in all these 'kids are dumb' topics.... I think I need a councillor... 8)
