Arg , even though I shouldn't be posting too much due to the fact that I haven't finished a game or anything  , I hope this is ok ...anyway :

I wanna play Lassi Quest , but the links no worky!
Please send me the series! Thankies!

Oh , yeah , sorry to bring up an old thread , it's just that I've been reacquainting myself with the RON series and Lassi of Lassi Quest is in one of them ,
so I wanted to play the actual Lassi Quest series after that.

I think Bedazzled is hilarious and Ringu is exciting and scary.

Ringu, yes. The Ring, no.
Whoops , I think I made a mistake. I haven't actually seen "Ringu" yet but because "The Ring" is based on it and I've seen it , I did consider it exciting and scary. Then again it's been a while since I've seen it , but the stuff I remember from it is pretty freaky.

Sorry if you consider yourself a purist when it comes to Anime , I'm not talking about anybody here since that would be stupid ...I barely know anybody here but I'm just saying that people who don't consider me a real Anime fan and act like they know more than me ...people like that tick me off. I realize that I may come off with the purist type attitude myself sometimes but I try not to , sorry if you feel I have a "I know sooo much more than you so I don't consider you an Anime fan" sort of attitude. I do not mean to come off that way since that is the sort of thing that ticks me off.  I'm just telling you all that right now because I wanted to make sure people understood that I'm not judging anybody here...but if you make it personal and insult me about things ( I know there's still alot I don't know about Anime and Japan but I shouldn't have to know every little thing but I know alot and just because I love the mainstream stuff ...it does not mean I'm not a real Anime fan if I like mainstream stuff because I also like the not so well known Anime )  then I feel I would have every right to consider you the bad type of purist if you know what I mean.  Sorry this is so long and if I left anything out. I keep feeling like I might be forgetting something...

I'd get back on topic if I could think of some other movies to complain about but I can't , sorry.

Most people I've met irl or online that have taken drugs or smoked ( I don't really know anybody who's taken drugs unless they've never told me about it but then again it's something I haven't really asked about...and would feel weird about asking...*shrugs* ) ...they are a pain.  I thought some drugs were supposed to make you hyper happy but most people I met seem to only care about themselves and smoking. One guy I met was really strict. I'm a follower of "girls just wanna have fun" , ( arg stupid missing text ) , so he was a bummer to me and I ended up spending less and less time with him until contact dropped off altogether. *sighs*
There was this one girl I met who was really nice but one day was surprised to see her smoking with some other girl I hated and they were hiding behind this huge heater or something when we were all outside. I somehow stopped having anything to do with her after that , now when I look back on it I feel kinda bad that we lost touch since she was a nice person but just being around smokers makes me ill.
Some of my current adult friends that I met thanks to my parents , they smoke but they're nice people.
I've heard horror stories about alcoholics too so I'm glad I don't know anybody like that either.  ( or if they do drink..that'd be a surprise to me... )
Oh , and even though I've never tried drugs...I had considered smoking before but the whole "it makes your lungs Black and you could get cancer...ect." thing scared me off the idea. The reason why I even considered it was to lose weight.
I have tried alcoholic drinks a few times but nothing big , even a small sip makes me ill , so it's amazing to me that people can become alcoholics but I guess it's an acquired (sp.?) taste.  One time I asked about peyote and wanted to go on a spirit quest but somebody had a friend who did that once and his friend was never the same afterward , it had really messed up his brain "he thought he was an orange" so I wisely changed my mind about taking peyote just to go on a spirit quest after that.  :-[
I don't know if it really counts since the pills were not illegal , but one time I tried to take a whole bottle of pills and was sick for a while after that.   :(

General Discussion / Re: Seeking approval
Thu 06/05/2004 09:03:12
Even though I try my best to be polite and be friendly to people ,  I feel like I'm not very good at dealing with people , sometimes I even have this problem online , but I think it's because I mostly keep to myself and due to my past ( alot of times it's been hard to get along with people ....when I was a kid ...since we moved around a lot because my father was in the army...I never felt like I really had any friends so I never really felt accepted and that saying "everyone's a critic" is very true...I rarely get comments on my work and when I do..it's usually to point out what's wrong with it...that along with my own feelings about my art...I consider myself a perfectionist but I also can be very lazy about things...blah blah...anyway all those feelings bunched up together gets me depressed / discouraged about my work so then I start being unmotivated to finish anything. I guess that's a big part of why I have such a hard time finishing things I start.  )
I do have some friends though , the somewhat sad thing is that most of them are online I haven't chatted with them as much as I used to. And it's always scary trying to meet new people.
And like others , it's hard when your parents , the very two people that are supposed to make you feel good about yourself , sometimes say insensitive things and give you a hard time about grades and such.
Hmmm..I used to ( and sometimes still feel this way ) often feel like even my own parents didn't really support me in anything even though they'd say things like "that's a nice drawing" but that'd be it ...sure they would buy me stuff sometimes like art supplies but I don't consider that "true" encouragement. I like being told that I've done a good job but it's not something I remember hearing often.   It's always a pleasant surprise when somebody chooses me , of all people , to help on a project or ask me to do something for them , or tell me that they like my work , ect. I'm so used to hearing that my stuff is crap that I wanna cry tears of joy whenever people say that they actually like my work.  Also , sometimes my dad seems to think that I am not serious about things like taking up sewing so it's kinda like "yeah ok ...if you really are interested I'll buy material for you but I don't believe that you are going to do this so why are you bringing it up?" or something. *shrugs and sighs*
Oh , and because of the fact that I've had alot of problems getting along with people ,  I've grown to hate people so I guess that's a big part of why I have trouble getting along too. *laughs*
When I was growing up I often felt like I was "brother's shadow" and to this day I'm still a bit jealous that he was so popular in school and then after he graduated and stuff , even though he was a pain , I missed him because I had such a hard time in school. So , now you know why I hated school.  I know I haven't really talked about school before but just saying. *laughs again*
Oh , and I've been told before that I care way too much about what people think of me and my work but at the same time I definately let people know that I'm not always a pushover either...and I hate it when people lay guilt trips on others.

I think the "what's your favorite appliance" one is great.
It's cute and funny without being stupid.
I can't think of any that are too silly to bother with , but then again I haven't seen that many to begin with so maybe I'm just confused because I'm new and there don't seem to be too many to me. *shrugs*
But yeah , I agree that if this continues too much , it'll be getting old real fast and apparently it's already getting on some people's nerves.  :o

" Kara, why did you dig this up? This is last weeks news." Sorry! I'm still new here , remember?  :-[  Plus , the thread seemed pretty new and I wanted to show what I thought about it. That's all. Sorry again.

It always annoys me when people post bitmaps when , if they would have bothered to pay close attention to the graphics on other people's sites , they'd probably finally "get it" by seeing that most people use .jpg or .gif ...sometimes there are are .png but the most accepted file extensions for graphics are .jpg and .gif  , even when I was crappy at making sites ( yes..there once was a time when I didn't put up copyright info about pics and such. ) , I knew that it's not ok to put bitmaps up .

"Do you honestly think that makes any difference at all?"
Well , I was just stating that part to show that I didn't know back then that I should put up copyrights.
To a certain extent , yes , it does make a difference.
I didn't put copyrights about my stuff and I didn't put copyrights about others stuff , unfortunately there's alot of stupid people out there who assume that anything without copyright blurbs are public domain and therefore free to use for anything , because of my earlier stupidity about copyrights not only did I get in trouble a bit for doing stuff with other's graphics and not crediting people , but somebody stole a poem from me and when I emailed them about it they were like "well you should've made it clear that it belonged to you then!" . *sighs* Another unfortunate thing are the people that _do_ know about copyrights but choose to ignore them and stuff , like the way I used to be back when I was still learning things about the internet.
So , yeah , and I had to learn the hard way.

I love Disney , but they do some dumb things sometimes.

Darn it , Squinky!  >:(  ;)
You beat me to making a space pirate related game!
*sob*
I guess I'll have to
abandon the idea of turning
Cassia's life story into a game now....

*hugs*
Rock on!

Man, I wonder if they ever realized how naughty it can sound or if they just never thought it could be taken that way before doing the show.  8)

I think it would be naive to think that it was all some kind of accident.
*shrugs* I wouldn't be surprised , surely there must be something else out there like that...Oh yeah , I don't know it's a stupid "joke" or not , but there's this thing somewhere online that claims The Cat In The Hat is about the kids first sexual "awakening" or some thing and supposedly , according to that stupid article , the story is about them being in an incestuous relationship with each other and the cat acts as a sex teacher or something and that's what the story means by "tricks" . The fish is still considered the voice of reason in that article though.
Plus if you read up on self-proclaimed christians' beliefs , alot of them seem to think that anything like Harry Potter , Magic The Gathering , and Jar Jar Binks is the work of the devil.
So , in my opinion it's not really that big a leap to think that maybe they released it without realising how it might sound.

But I really should've thought what kingsized thinks too.  :-[ :D

"To even think otherwise would be silly" I disagree.
Please see above post again for reasons why I think it's not silly to think something like that.

Thanks though , everyone , for making it clear to me that it _was_ done on purpose.
Again , I just hadn't thought of it from
another standpoint or whatever when I first saw it.
Sorry.  :-[ :P

Spoiler
"hur hur hur internally" hehe

"You'll find that most christians don't really have an opinion on H.P (or Magic or Jar Jar), other than that it's silly and for kids."
Sorry , I don't know alot of Christians offline myself and I do know that not all of them are silly like that , but most seem to live up to the "bible thumping magic-hating" , ect. stereotype.
Again , when I state words like most , I know that not all are like that...
Even though it's true that they seem to only show the extreme ones on tv and the extreme ones can be found online too, I speak from experiance (sp.) when I state that alot of them are like that.  At least one exp. was "irl" and the others were online.  Just look at  Harry Potter fan sites' guestbook entries / hatemail section and you'll find that , ( unless they're lying about their religion...but why would somebody do that? ) , many make a big deal about it.
I could understand calling it unfair if I had said "all" instead of "a lot" but I didn't.
I've even got some family that are Christian but they're nice people ...I don't know how some of them feel about things like Harry Potter...except for Brenda.  She seems pretty open minded about things like Pokemon...but I haven't asked her opinion on things like Harry Potter...yet.  More precisely , she didn't seem as interested as I was in chatting about Pokemon , but she didn't start going "omg you're evil!" and crap either. *laughs*
I'm sorry if I upset anybody.  :(

Aww. I thought that was cute. Then again I often tend to fit into the stereotypical "girly girl" label and I'm attracted to cute and girly things along even though I also like horror.

""They don't babble you with science or whatever". " *laughs* That reminds me of this commercial that looks good right up until the guy says "This isn't rocket surgery!" ...I'm pretty sure the line was supposed to be "This isn't rocket science!" and some nutbar decided to release the commercial anyway even though it had a mistake or just was lazy and didn't make sure everybody got their lines right or something.

Oh , and I forgot to mention earlier but the "rich chocolate Ovaltine" commercial ticks me off too , not only does it not have truth in advertising ( Gatorade and Ovaltine have a foul taste ) ,  but it's really boring too.

Another "oh ..and" : I'm not too thrilled about tampon commercials either ( they count as hygene  / health related right? ) I don't know if I mentioned that already but stuff like that ticks me off since it's sick ( if I wanted to watch a tampon commercial I'd a couple of friends to do one for me and tape it or something but then again whey would anyone actually want to watch such a thing? lol ) ...especially since  they seem to be on whenever people are trying to eat.

I hate Gap and Old Navy too. The only time I was ever interested in an Old Navy brand name clothing was those cute t-shirts with the American flag on it , but then I thought "I don't want one if I can't the get the brandname off." *laughs*

Not about a commercial , but still sick and stupid , but a bit funny : It was a school day and these girls were talking about periods and I was like "I can't believe you're talking about that in public!" and this one girl says something like "It's a part of life, honey." Nowadays , when I look back...I wonder why she called me honey and that part makes me laugh but I still am amazed that somebody , especially a girl , would talk about something like that in public.  I've joked about it once or twice but I usually don't talk about it.

I've never seen that before. *laughs*

Wow! Thanks to this thread I will be able to find more games to look forward to. I didn't recognise alot of titles so I'm going to do research and have checked out the provided links.
Like another , I look forward to all the games but here's a list of the ones I'm most excited about :

Shadowplay ( one minor point : Why is it called "Shadowplay" instead of "Shadow Play"? )
"Sunset Boulevard meets Gabriel Knight" I love GK and when I saw the screenshot of the GK-like conversation , my heart danced.  The screenshots are great , looks like the graphics are going to be awesome. I haven't seeen Sunset Boulevard but I love that song. "Sunset Boulevard , twisted boulevard , ...but in those dreams were hidden dragons. She had a dream and I had hope , it seemed an elegant solution..." *sighs dreamily*
Jon Stickman : I love stickmen , and the graphics are different from alot of games...especially the characters themselves since they _are_ stickpeople , after all. Heh. Oh , and I love romantic comedies.  ( there's this other stickgame I played that I enjoyed but I can't remember the name of it...the gaphics were monochrome though so its' not like either is a rip off of the other ...which is very nice / cool.)
The Tablet of Altheria : Great plot and nice graphics.
QUEST FOR INFAMY: So You Want To Be A Villain? : Great idea.
And if it gets made , the idea of playing as a female hero instead.
I know it's unlikely but I would like to see something like Royal Quest worked on again someday.
Fan remakes of older Sierra games that haven't been remade yet or are being worked on but just not finished yet.
The Legend of Leitor's Edge : Great plot.
Paparazzi Prince : Cute graphics, funny plot.
Minor -  "Paparazzi Prince" , how about something like "Royal Woes" or "Headline Prince"?
Time Out : Great graphics , interesting plot.
Donna , avenger of blood : I usually hate anything in monochrome but this looks interesting.
Jimmy Jam : Great looking graphics and funny plot.
Minor gripe - Jimmy Jam? Why not call it something like "Jimmy : King of The Problem Children" ( ack....on second thought that looks worse because it's too long. ) , "Crazy Jimmy" , or "That Darn Jimmy!"?
Bestowers of Eternity 2  : I love this game , the art , the story , the characters. *sniff*
Devco Quest : Looks cool! The plot sounds good too.
Buccaneer 2  : I didn't understand some of the art in the first one but things look improved in the screenshots for the second one ( ie : Why was the picture of his dead wife in Red?
It made me wonder if his wife was Red because she was alien or was it a visual reminder of the fact that she died or just a coloring mistake? )  , but otherwise I loved this game the way I love BOE.
More pirate games. ( Yes, I'm sorry , I'm addicted to pirate stuff. Yes, I'm ashamed. Oh...but I usually hate monkeys. Except for maybe Black Spider monkeys and Lemurs...I hate spiders so it's kinda funny. )
More horror games.
Anime like games , especially "child raising" or romance sims.
Spoiler
..and hentai  :-[  :D ;D
[close]
( I might try my hand at one but I am not very good at Anime style so it'd be cool if somebody else would do one )
More stickmen games.
Stan and Sancho and Pirate Provencher's Gold : Again , darn Squinky , beating me to the whole space pirate thing! *laughs* Seriously though , I can't wait to play this game.
I look forward the Indiana Jones and Monkey Island fangame(s) too.
The Star Wars fangame.
Mystery of the Sphinx or whatever. ( interesting conversation system and menu , nice graphics , semi-fun demo , ect. )
Apprentice 2 ( poor guy..when is he going to get his real first spell? )
More games like Apprentice and Wizardhood.
Ok....more everything. *laughs*
Anything else that might have not been done before and looks cool or has a good plot.
and like others I look forward to finishing at least one or two games of my own. Especially Centaur Mania , because it'd either be a long game or a series , ( Whichever works out better. ) , and comedy...surreal...hopefully it will teach people a thing or two about Mythology and so on.

I don't get it. The title is nice and the graphics are different from what one usually sees  , but what is this game about?
Sorry.
#134
I love Anime but I agree with that guy who hated Akira : "WTF?!" .

I have a love-hate thing for "Being John Malkovich" . I love the basic idea "hey let's make a movie about what it would be like if you could get inside someone else's head and see things through their eyes and take over their body ...ect. !" ...and although JM is a great actor....why , oh why , JM? He's not very attractive and since there was a shower scene and love making scenes...*shudder*  I'm surprised I didn't have nightmares about the part where they showed him as every person but then again that part was also funny.  Hmmm...I just checked up to see what films he was in because I realized that I didn't know why I stated "he's a great actor" earlier and turns out he's in "Shadow of the Vampire" ,  I've seen that and he did a great job in that so I guess that's why I stated that...I haven't seen those other films he's been in....yet.

I love Magnolia , it was so sad what happened to that child actor and Aimee Mann is a great singer , but I also love it when the actors seem to be singing it instead of AM in that part of the movie.

I love movies like Dune ....I haven't read the book...yet...but I'm usually not the type to go "I like the book better" anyway.
Even though I can see how things like the movie "IT" can be called worse than the book , I think it's a cool movie and does scare a bit ( clowns scare me... ) even though some of the effects _are_ crappy...but it's a "so bad it's good / funny" sort of cheesy-crappy thing to me.

I love alot of the movies that others don't like , I think Bedazzled is hilarious and The Ring is exciting and scary.

Sorry for mostly talking about movies I love , I can't really think of many movies I hate other than ones I've already chatted about.

Sorry to make this post longer but I wanted to express more about my feelings towards Disney and Anime and its so-called fans , ect.  ...I know I could've just started a new topic but I've already made too many posts as it is for somebody who hasn't finished a game or been much help with somebody else's game yet.
"Sprited Away" : Great film. I didn't think I'd care too much about it at first even though it was Anime because I'd never heard of it before ....It's odd enough to be interesting to both adults and children but it's not adult the way "Labyrinth of Flames" is which makes it a good "kiddie" film.
Over in Japan , Anime/Manga is considered an art form. I do not know of any series that didn't start out as a Manga. If a Manga gets popular enough , then they go ahead and work on getting an Anime deal. I think maybe the reason that Anime is so hard to get accepted by some people is because it's soooo Japanese , even when it's been translated via sub or dub , I think some people still just don't get it. Like , comics over here are mostly about beefy superheros and sexed out superfemales , but in Japan they have something for nearly everyone. There's even some Manga that focus mainly on fashion or idol singing , ect. but can still make for a fun read.  There's alot of "in jokes" that most Americans might not get right away. A nose bleed indicates perverted thoughts /  erection.  The strange little Red marks a character might get when they're upset about something indicates anger.
I myself still don't get what's so funny about a snot bubble for when characters are sleeping but that's just another example of the humour in Japanese animation and comics.
Stuff like pleated skirts and "tube socks" or whatever are a Japanese thing because it's the school outfit over there...if I remember correctly , they looked to Europe and some other places for ideas about uniforms...they chose sailor outfits and I can't remember what else but I think German outift was also a choice at sometime. When the Kogals were still "in" , they often wore their school outfits to be cute even though they didn't really go to school 'cause they were mostly only cared about fashion and fun.
For some reason , most Anime "fans" hate Disney with a passion ...I guess they believe that Disney steals ideas or something just because Kimba and Simba just happen to have alot in common. *rolls eyes* Anyway , the fans even fight amongst themselves...and when that happens it's about which is better : Subbed or dubbed? This one article / post put it best : Some "purists" would say neither because they watched Anime back when you'd have to get it imported or something and they weren't even being subbed back then.
Labyrinth of Flames is great if you don't mind naughty / extreme humour , if you're usually against Anime , maybe something like this will change your mind , I think it's hilarious.
Even though I do love alot of the "mainstream" shows like Pokemon , (which by the way is only stupid because of the American company's fault...it's gotten dumbed down alot but I've seen some of the original stories and it's not as kiddish as people may think it is..Alot of Anime gets dumbed down due to American companies so if you judge it all because you think it's "kiddish" then you should think again...they don't always show you the good stuff but I think things finally changed over time and due to the real fans and the companies that seem to actually care about Anime instead of just trying to make a profit...well ...just saying there's good Anime out there and you just have to work to find it but please don't write it all off as "kid's" or "girly" stuff ) ,  hmm...Oh , as I was stating...I love the not so well known stuff too like Pet Shop of Horrors ...Birdy The Mighty...Labyrinth of Flames...Capricorn....Dragon Half....adult stuff.... Angelique...ect.  I haven't actually seen some of the titles I listed yet but I already like them because of the stuff I've seen online about them.
Sorry for any spelling errors and bad sentences ....*sighs*
Thanks Ryukage for bringing up other points , I totally forgot for a while that some people may complain about Anime due to whole "hey that guy looks girly!" thing. It's a female fan thing. Most girly guys ( bishonen "beautiful boy" or some such thing is the actual terminology ) are made by women.  CLAMP for example is an all female art team. That's why so many of the guys drawn by CLAMP look the way they do : Alot of women consider it sexy , cute , and funny.  If you don't like girly guys then look for another Anime. Simple , eh?  ;) :P ;D
Oh , and in just in case somebody didn't get it / missed it :
I love Disney _and_ Anime.

"But I think people shouldn't dismiss the whole of either genre on the basis of a few films." Agreed.
Even though I can't think of any Disney film that I just absolutely hated right now ,
I can think of some Anime that I can't stand.
But I still watch both.

"As for Pixar, I love their films. I think their characters are probably the most expressive 3D creations I've seen. I found them more realistic than the blank, emotionless faces of the Final Fantasy movie. But that's just my opinion." Don't worry , DG. Alot of the true Anime / FF fans hate the movie too. I still haven't seen the whole thing but from what I heard the darn thing doesn't even follow the game very closely so it's hated by people like me.  I love Pixar and it really saddens me that Squaresoft got into and keeps getting into 3D when it's obvious that they aren't very good at it. I've also seen at least one Final Fantasy animated ( no 3D ) movie and it bit the big one too but at least that Anime was closer to the game series than that 3D movie.

"And as for the whole debate on whether anime is a genre or whatever, I tend to think that Western culture has placed it into a genre (which is fine by me cause it helps me find anime quicker in the DVD store). But, I am aware of the cultural differences and the conventions. People have said they hate a lot of the conventions. However, the conventions are based on Japanese culture. And sometimes it's difficult to understand different cultures because we rely so heavily on our own." *nod* Wether or not it's "meant" to be a genre , I count it as one ...I didn't even consider that maybe I should be ashamed of that until now but I still think of myself as a "true" Anime fan. I think for reasons I've mentioned already and the fact that so many so-called fans are just in it because they see the style and are like "oh that's cool" but they don't take the time to research it and all and then there's the idiots that go out in cosplay even though they look hideous and stupid and lastly the freaking "purists" who gripe out people like me just because they think they're soooo smart.....THOSE type of "fans" are making the rest of us look bad. You know what they say about one bad apple spoiling the whole bunch.  ( or rather...in this case a bunch of bad apples spoiling the grove or whatever...arrr..you get what I mean...right? ) *sighs*
And then there's people that may act like my brother and write off all Anime as Hentai. *rolls eyes*

"3. None of your ideas make me go 'oh no, not another ..... game', but you haven't really said anything about them (plot, characters, etc) so it's hard to say." Sorry , I haven't really worked on characters yet , I have files righ now labeled things like "spritessinging.bmp , spriteswalking.bmp , portraits.bmp , ect." but right now they're just blank space with a label somewhere at the top , poor dears are waiting for actual graphics to cuddle and spoil.  ;)
As for plot , I've mentioned a few times that sometimes I have trouble with plot ideas. Thanks to this thread I've got some possible game elements to add into the whole centaur thing now but for the most part it's not planned.  Even though "it's never been done before" is a part of why I want to make a game about centaurs , I love centaurs and my star sign is also known as the Horse or Centaur. I love mythology and fantasy ...once I start working on the textboxes / "speech" , I will "teach" what I know after I finish researching again throughout the game. So , hopefully , through most of my games one will not only be entertained but maybe they'll come back from "the experience" knowing things they may not have known before.  :)
""Wouldn't a game about centaurs be like, mad sweet," " Huh? I don't see how I was like that.  You must be thinking of the guy I was qouting , not me. I was just saying that I agree with him. I realized it wouldn't really count as a game in progress , so that's why I posted here instead of in "games in progress" , per the rules , I did not post in there because I basically have little to no plot , didn't have any screenshots ready at the time and only have one screenshot for now ,
ect. Please remember that I'm not a professional at making games and that I'm new to the forums. Even small games can't be great right away and since I want Centaur Mania to be a nice big game ( or at least a series of well made small games )  ,  it's going to take me even longer and I've barely scratched the surface. Everyone has to get their start somewhere and all good things start with one idea.

I don't understand every aspect of Surfer or whatever lingo you're using. What does "Not to harsh your mellow" mean?

"1. Provided the game's actually any good, and you don't just use Roger, I don't much care WHAT the PC is" That's part of why I made this thread, since I'm so new , I haven't done much yet.  Unfortunately , right now the PC is a roger , but as soon as I get the main character sprite done and all her animations , he'll be kicked out. In the other version of Centaur Mania that I have worked on and still haven't finished , I haven't really got much of a plot in that one either but already worked on text for the game , I haven't looked at that version in a long time but I will as I work on the AGS version for ideas since I had done alot in the other one....I tried making original graphics for that version but they wouldn't work , in AGS it's easier to import your own graphics and have them still look good.  The all important hotspots , animations , ect. haven't been worked on yet because , again , I just started a while ago on the project. I wouldn't have made this thread at all if I wasn't in need of help for ideas and such.  Even though I haven't yet , I will also be asking people via pms for help with the game with the all important scripting and such since those things scare me , especially script coding.  :D

Centaur Mania is already being worked on..it's just slow going since I'm new and I need help with plot and other things, just in case I didn't make myself clear about that before.  I apoligize for the lack of plot but that is why I posted here.  If I had more stuff already , I would've posted in "games in progress" , but because of the rules there , I posted this thread in here. I apoligize for any confusion and annoyance this may have caused. Even though in a way I'm disappointed with how this thread is going , I am glad people are posting in it. Please remember that I'm an amateur at making games and am new to the forums. I don't have tons of stuff to show you yet because I just started a while ago. Please keep that in mind when posting your opinions. Thank you. Oh , and I haven't even started work on other games yet because I have been trying things out a bit with AGS and working a bit on the Centaur Mania project. Thanks again for posting.

Sorry my posts are so long.

Yay! Welcome , welcome. I am happy to see that I'm no longer the only newcomer posting.
Thanks Pumaman!
Yeah , 5 days a stranger is one of my favorite AGS games , recently I've been reaquainting myself with the RON series and so far my favorite is A Better Mousetrap , I had trouble near the end but eventually got past it and now I love it. *laughs*
I can't wait to hear your music and play your game(s).
As for my own attempts at a game , right now I'm not really doing much but I'm sometimes trying things out and learning stuff , I even got my first offer already to maybe help work on something for somebody else's game.  I have alot of ideas that I hope someday will become actual games.  I'll post the link to that thread later.
Best wishs , everybody!

Lancer Advanced

( man ...I wish I could draw like that ...whoops..edited due to a block...anyway , I was wanting to show people a cool centaur babe but now you'll have to find it yourself since there's a block if you link directly to the pics. Sorry. )

Oh , my site is really old , alot of stuff hasn't been updated , I apoligize for the areas that are messy and any problems you have navigating around the site , but for the most part it shouldn't be too hard to get around and I hope you like how I tried to follow the old "content , content , content" rule. It's a "personal" ( uh..."me me me" type I guess )  site , sorry for the lack of warning earlier. *laughs* However , there are game related areas there and soon I'll be adding the AGS area so keep your eyes open and I apoligize in advance if I end up not putting it up as quickly as I promised.

What's txt-style spelling?

I had to remove a link due to the fact that it no longer worked.

I haven't actually read the whole thing yet , but my last book purchase is called something like "Carravagio...the man who became M" .  I researched a bit at some point because the name was unfamiliar to me and it turns out he's an artist.
I have at least two other books , probably packed away right now , that  I haven't read yet , one is called "The Jester" and the other is about Shakespeare. ( which is funny because I still don't have any of his plays yet...I love his works but don't even have "Much Ado About Nothing" which is one of my favorite stories )
Oh , and I haven't read all of the mythology book I got as a Christmas present and I haven't read much in the horse book either. ( It lists all the horse breeds and such )
I love to read the Catfantastic series over and over  , same goes for "The Ragwitch" , even though it's a "kid's" book it's very nice.  Books like "A Swiftly Tilting Planet" are very nice too.  Oh , and horror books ( mainly Stephen King ) are fun.
I've not read any LOTR or Harry Potter , ect. yet but plan on doing that someday. I love to just sit and read through dictionaries sometimes.  A good adult fantasy book is the first Keepers of the Flame ( I haven't been able to find the rest of the series yet ) ....it's about a bunch of dnd players who suddenly find themselves in the world that they were playing in ...I know my little summary probably made it sound geeky but please give it a chance because I think it's one of the best books I've ever read. I also love Net of Dreams and Wizard War.  Some of the stories in Catfantastic are a bit adult.
Cat on the edge is good. Back to "kid" stuff - Alice In Wonderland , Alice Through The Looking Glass , Z is for Zachariah ,  Wizard of Oz ( and nearly any other Oz related books you can find ) , the Narnia series , and Girl With Silver eyes.  There's a book called "Mask" that is pretty good which should be in "kid" / "teen" section. Unfortunately,  I haven't found that one again either.  I haven't read them yet but I hear the Neverending story books are better than the movies and the Gormenghast series might be good reading too.
For a good vampire book , "The Night Inside".
Even though it's been a long time , I once read The Count of Monte Cristo and I recently saw the movie.
Turns out my dad had read the book too so we were discussing wether or not the movie followed the book / if his motives were more about  showing off his new wealth or revenge.  I also had read Don Quixote when I was younger.
"Cruel Sister" or whatever the title you might find it under nowadays is a good read too. If you can't find the book , buy the Loreena McKennit CD that has the song "The Bonny Swans" in it and the lyrics match the story nearly word for word.

Oh , so there wasn't really anything to do after that.
Great ending. *laughs*

Spoiler
I was messing around trying to figure it out for myself again and realized that I hadn't taken the nail , so I tried some of the tools and finally got the nail , messed with the nail for a bit and ended up with a hook so I attached it to the pole and rope ....tada , fishing pole! Now I have the skull. Yay.
I'm surprised at myself that I completely missed / forgot about the nail after taking the picture down. Whoops.
