I have created a global variable for my music that is an audio channel called BGM.
Then, whenever I want to change the volume I write something like:

Code: ags
BGM = aMySong.Play();
BGM.Volume = 100;
//code
BGM.Volume = 50;
// code
BGM.Volume = 100;

and so on...

I made the hotspot a little bigger.  (laugh)

Hey thanks for playing the demo!  (nod)

Spoiler
If the door closes too quickly, retry the switches, ending with the middle one.

Right then left then middle or left then right then middle.

Also, once the door opens, your cursor is set to Walk Mode, so you just have to click on the open door as soon as it opens.

There should be a "love" button. You just saved my day!  (nod)

It was indeed Windows that detected a thing: Trojan:Win32/Wacatac.B!ml (where did that come from?)
It has now been removed and all is fine.
It is weird, tho, since it happened just out of nowhere.

Thank you so much for your help!

Cheers!

It happened just like that, out of the blue. I hit F5 and now I get this everytime:

Any idea on how to fix this?
I reinstalled, restarted my PC etc... but nothing changes the problem.

Ah I came here just to do that tonight: talking about AI in music.
Looks like I've been thinking about it too long  (laugh)
So thanks @Danvzare @AndreasBlack @Crimson Wizard  for the trigger.

And if you think Udio is a game changer, try Suno.com. That's where the real deal is. Because there's instrumental songs, but you can also add lyrics. And then come the singers.
There's everything, really. Before you go there, be prepared.
And you'll get why it take me so long  (laugh)

I'm testing this thing in so many ways for like two months and mostly traditional music from around the world, because electronic music is easy, but all of those real traditional voices and instruments was always impossible unless recorded.
Well, that's over. it's just incredible.
Of course there are flaws at this point, but oh boy, do I give the traditional music industry like between end 2024 and 2026 to live some sort of apocalypse.

And then there will be that discussion about supporting real composers that make music but, at this point, how do I know they didn't use AI to make their music?

Wow this is massive! Thank you so much to all who worked on this for us!!  (nod)

That's looking beautiful!! (nod)  Love that frog  (laugh)

When I'm on the balcony, I can interact with the entrance door, open or close it.
Also from the balcony, if the door is open and I click to enter, I will walk down trough the tree and then enter.
If I use the key to leave the house, once outside I can't go back inside or select the key in the inventory and the cursor is stuck on Walk mode.

We're living some kind revolution here.
My dad lost his job to progress and innovation.
But he was lucky because he just was retiring like one year later.
There will be a transition.
Some people will be mad, angry and afraid of it.
It always happens : Steam technology, industrialization, robotics, computing...
Because we're in 2024, it just happens really fast and seems to come out of left field.
But it has been coming to us for a while.
Once, someone told me: "You can be for or against evolution, you'll have to go with it anyway."
AI is here to stay. Like every new technological revolution before.
I think we have to accept and adapt.
Or else we still would be hunters/gatherers.
I know people who were like really against it until they changed their minds.
Because of time.
How much time do we have to do what we want to do when we have a full-time job, family, friends, etc.?

What can feel unfair:
Being a knight or samurai who believes in traditional battles, and having cannons and guns in front of you.
There's that reason why everyone has cannons now.

Cheers

Well since for me it was a first, I can't compare but I had a great time! The whole organisation was well done.  I can't imagine the work and time behind it so thank you for that.  (nod)

In a technical way, I did have problems with the .exe file: I got kicked out of the ceremony and the .exe file got deleted. (Windows 11?)
I just got lucky thx to my stress and intuition (I'm a basic user)... to make it work by making Windows accepting to launch it.
But I tell you, it was pure survival instinct in the moment. (laugh)
Maybe there's no really perfect way to run the file, depending on everyone's security settings etc., so I think it would be cool to have intstructions about what could go "wrong" and how to fix it ,based on tests.

But again, really, this was a well organized, funny and emotional evening well rounded up!

Looking great!  (nod)

OK, it works perfectly!

Thank you very much for the help and explanations  (nod)

Hello,

So that's the thing I can't solve right now:
When opening a GUI, all the object animations pause, and I don't want that.
What can I do so the object animations continue even when I open a GUI?
Pop-up Style is > When mouse moves to top of screen

Thx!

A BIG congratulations to all the winners and nominees! It's absolutely well deserved, you brought us magic with your games, and also scenes, moments and characters I will never forget.

Just for me, your games (winners and nominated) gave me a lot of inspiration so thank you for that.

Also an EPIC thank you to all the people that put so much time and effort to make this ceremony an AMAZING experience and also a very funny one.
And also a very beautiful and emotional one, honoring those who, by just being who they were, made the AGS world such a more beautiful place to be.

What an evening.

Cheers!

I crashed and now the exe file doesn't work anymore?

And here I thought MY game was big. Just how long have you been developing this game?
Thanks a lot, it's quite a short little big game that took me a little under two years to develop.  :)

Back on topic: You do good to ask external people. As a good noob, I didn't. I tested my game so much in all possible ways and fixed dozens and dozens of bugs until everything felt right. I even tested doing things I myself would never do.
So I released my game and, oh boy, did that release became totally messy. For weeks. It was hell.
I learned that however you test it, people will have their own brains and logics. And they will break your game. (laugh)
But thanks to them and their reports it's now all over.
Lesson learned  (nod)
