Messages - SSH

The higher resolutions are slower, but if your computer can run Windows XP, its probably powerful enough for you not to notice. Another problem is that all co-ordinates for scripts, etc are in 320x200, so you need to remember to convert the numbers (i.e. divide by 2).

A lot of people here like pixel-art: that is where each pixel is important and counts for some detail. This is one quarter of the effort at 320x200.

You could also try using the IP plugin to make a multi-player game. (then you don';t need to bother with AI, either!) I did think myself of implementing the "History of the World" board game in AGS, but haven't really got around to it.

Haven't you read the forum rules? One thread per game! You naughty bandwidth-hog, you! Please use the existing thread http://www.agsforums.com/yabb/index.php?board=8;action=display;threadid=3477  ;)

*SSH does his "I caught out a moderator" dance*

Seriosuly, though, this is great news: I can't wait to see the FoY demo. Could someone at Mittens please beat m0ds to a pulp and steal the demo? Or all those hAx0000rrrrRs who seem to be around these days steal it from his computer?

I like juncmodule's, but I think that it makes the icon bar rather overloaded with arrows. So, I think I'm going to go with SSH's final submission (based off Proskrito's).

Just as I thought that I'd lost, I snatch victory from the jaws of defeat   :o (and other footballing cliches)! Fame and riches will be mine. I demand that CJ cut me in on 10% of AGS profits....  :)

I've been away from these boards for so long
And you were sorely missed.

It better not be anybody here! If it is I'll rip your head off!

What an endearing way to return, Mr Kikme

I've only seen the third Godfather, somehow. And I haven't seen Taxi Driver.

I like the original "Gladiator": The Fall of the Roman Empire, with Alec Guinness and Sophia Loren.

Talking of Alec Guinness, The LadyKillers and Arsenic and Old Lace are great.

And I know it's been done, but Cuckoo's Nest is great.

Maybe somebody already asked about this

Yup... it was you in the beginners forum  ::)

I think that the keyboard/mouse interactions will be the easy bit. Getting the AI for the computer opponent and the balance of difficulty right is maybe more difficult.

Great pics, but the beak on the bird looks a little too low. Reminds me of a Fiat Multipla...

And I thought that it was a Terminator bird, turning its wing into a spike like Robert Patrick...

No, Chris Jones has now put hidden children's porn inside with AGS, so that the FBI and others are hot on our trail.

Yeah, we all know what "Roger" means, really!  ;) Just run a steganography tool on his animation and you'll see all the famous under-18 forum members in a mud-wrestling competition. I'm not sure who won, though

should still run though! This was a problem I couldn't get around (I wanted to have the cut scene play as soon as you load the game first-time)... I'll be able to fix it in a later version...

just click to get rid of the error, it ought not to show the second time you play...

GetSaveSlotDescription (int slot, string buffer)

Gets the text description of save game slot SLOT into the provided BUFFER. If the slot number provided does not exist this function returns 0, if successful it returns 1.

EDIT: oops, sorry for the double post!

It's utterly hard, but very cool. I keep panicing and picking inert things. Darn!

I could get Lumptatos on the first one, but this one I only got Tuplecress and peacreeper.

What the heck is Juju, by the way?

Flipmiester...

Another possibility is that you go back in time for another reason but kill Hitler too while you are there. That way you would still do the going back in time, because you would do it for another reason, like betting on hosre racing ;)

Anyway, as every Red Alert player knows, killing Hitler means that Stalin causes WWII instead.

proskrito's one is good, but maybe:

EDIT: made same size as others

Camera Obscura is not so obscure... I learned about them at school and there is one in Edinburgh and one is Bristol:

http://www.camera-obscura.co.uk/

They are really good for mysteries. I'm sure that the Edinburgh one has featured in a book I read where someone saw a murder or an affair or something through the camera... maybe someone could do something similar in a game...

Hmm, anyway,

Toys in the Attic: kinda the opposite of Tales from the Crypt? Good idea, but I don't like the word "toys" in it. I don't know why. "Adventures in the Attic"? "Attic Attack"... oops, been done.

Camera Obscura has great potential for an animated logo... just like looking at the text through a real camera obscura (now, can any Latin boffs tell us what the plural is?)

Dark Chamber: cool.

Pandemonium Shadowshow: reminds me of Salma Hayek's character in from Dusk till Dawn

Maybe "Teatro Oscuro", or whatever the Latin for Dark Theatre is.

Is AGS Forums safe? YabbSE 1.5.4 was released on the 18th with fixes for these security holes, I believe.

I'm also planning a detective game, but using nothing but smilies as characters (Hence the title: Smilietown)

That is such a good idea! I always thought that Jake McGurk looked a bit like this: 8)

Come to think of it, that looks like DG, too.

DG is Jake McGurk!

sorry cause im only 15 and im not exactly the best at this so sorry i thought this wa for help, christ, you guys aint gotta be such asses, but i still have no clue... srry..

Well, considering that some guys on these forums have produced excellent games and are younger than you, youth is no excuse. I was writing in BASIC before I even had a computer, back in 1984 when I was 9. And I was programming in C before I was your age.

And don't call me an ass if you want to get any help from me.  :'(

Great, as usual (should have a macro set up for, reply to Neole's thread, "Great pic, Neole" ;) ) but what is she resting her head on? A potato?
