I noticed there were a few more games missing when I tried to download them:

Sixteen
Au Naturel

I'm not sure if there are any more - I checked some of them and they were still up - but you might want to take a look and make sure all the games are available for download just in case.

I know it's been almost a month, but I'd be interested in this. I think it might get some actual activity going.

So what kind of competition are we talking about? Would it be a graphics jam? I hope not, because my art skills are nonexistent. Or is this supposed to be more like a MAGS competition? Like, everyone makes a little game and then we decide on the winner? Because I'd be down with that. Or is it something else, like scriptwriting or... puzzles... or.... something?

Whoa! When did this happen? It's so sudden.

In any case, I'm very surprised. This is some useful stuff. I hope the good work is kept up.

Should I make a little Word file as a demo, or maybe even a simple little thing in AGS, just showing some sample room text that could serve as background information?

Well, thanks... I consider myself more of a hanger-on than an alumnus, but I guess that's kind of missing the "everyone gets a shot" point of RON.

I could help write some of the dialogue/displayed text, if you'd like. People say I'm good at that stuff... and what the hell, I think so too ;)

So has the consensus here been to do an intro game? Because actually I'm interested in the other two options. A text-based intro would be nice because it'd be easier to make and it would allow the people who'd just like a quick look to skim a little and people who might want a bit more of an in-depth introduction to read the whole thing. And a movie-based intro would be a bit harder to make, but wouldn't require the "audience", as it were, to do a whole lot. Although a game intro does sort of tie in with the point of it all as an adventure-game... thingy... Hmm.

Oh, fine. When I found out the reason for the site crapping out was that the host had went bankrupt, I was... surprised, to say the least, but I figured I'd just wait a while and see what happened. And then I forgot. Yup.

How about you guys? What sort of work has been going on in RON-world? Any progress?

Ah! This is fantastic. What a great little forum!

Sorry I'm late... I must admit I kind of forgot about RON for a while... but here I am! So... yay.

(Also, I had an account here before, but that was ages ago, and now all the password stuff has kind of made it hard to get back. It's a nice bonus though, since I was very young the first time I came here and all my posts would probably be very embarrassing if I could even remember them.)
