The Rumpus Room / Re: The music thread

It's a friendly helpful forum, with pretty easy going rules. I know a good deal of forums where a mod would lock this post and make fun of your momma in the process, as opposed to helping you find relevent threads and giving you friendly advice (As Mr. C did).

Edit to be on topic:

I listen to a variety of music, never have tied my self dwon to any specific genre, but tend to like things like REM or They might be giants a little more then the standard stuff.

Truthfully, you should be able to get someone to make a midi or two for you. That is really the better way of doing it, check out the ACR thread.

But generally I've never seen an AGS game with a Britney Spears song in it.

Pirate Fry 1 has a cheesy B spears midi in it....

Rock out! I still have the box for that game, played it back when I was a kid, was hard as hell.

It's slang. It dosen't always mean a sibling. She appears to be some sort of sex-android from the shots, so I doubt she is anyones relation.

You know what, that eye thing struck a chord. I remembered how weird they were. I've checked it out again, and come to two personal conclusions.

1. The poor bastard has had to draw some of the ugliest people on earth, especially all those mutant children.

2. I think I was wrong. There are some images that still do look too good, and not match his style, but I can see it now, I must have been smoking the Crackus. I'm pretty sure he did draw those....so now I swallow my pride and must allow Eric to belittle my manhood and make fun of my mother....

Yeah, I have had the same problems.

Although it is more the fact that I took a break from ags programming than the new stuff. I'm sure if I would have kept my head in the tech forums I would have kept up. AGS can do so much now that I am kind of intimadated by it, and have no idea where to start with converting over.

That said, it's good to see you working on games Snake.

Vince, while I like the art you posted, I can tell that it is not a photograph on some of them. I'm sorry if this is making people mad, or turing into a "I know more about art than you so you are ignorant" type thing. I also can easily tell on the 3d images poosted by Mr.C, although they are very good.

But, I still see some issues with credibility for this guy, and nobody has proven otherwise to me yet. I'm not being stubborn here, or trying to offend anyone.

Why is it likely?

Becuase they look to precise. Like Andail said, if he could do this, he would be a human photo booth, which, incidentally, they have machines that take pictures and make them look like this. LGM does great work, and you can see his influence in them. You cannot see any artistic or human influence in Billy Oregon's work.

Deviant art page

Full of more images that look like pictures, given a sketchy look. Not saying they aren't good, but it just adds to the mystery.

I know how you feel about this, and I repsect that, but can you at least see that there is a chance that these are faked?

#230
Well, I was mostly just wondering if it was even possible to be that excact. I have never seen someone who could replicate an image excactly like that. And I don't think that I am the first person to wonder, since it is addressed in his FAQ (it asks if the pictures are photoshopped, and he says he takes that as a compliment.)

I still am skeptical, but don't really care, heh. The image that shows him creating the image could very likely somehow be faked, but it dosen't really matter. In his FAQ he also says he is an artist from Oregon, but later on in his blog refers to himself as Billy Oregon, conspiracy I say! Heh.

I am also skeptical, because he links to no gallery of his doodles, or personal type drawings. You can't tell me he dosen't just draw normal pictures sometimes, and a person with this skill would make something worth showing off.

As a wannabe artist, I applaude him for being able to make money off his talents, but can see that it is quite tedious. Even if it is a computer image (which it very likely may be) it is a good value, if you want that sort of thing.

Okay, seriously, this guy offers a paid service where he will draw a picture you send him. I got to looking around, and it's hard not to be skeptical when looking at his gallery. The drawings look like they were made with one of those portrait booths you see in arcades...And reading his crazy requirements makes me even more skeptical.

No real point in this, just wanted to hear others opinoins....

See, even southpark dosen't want AGS to have higher res.
#233
Didn't you do the music? I am confused here....
#234
Yep, much better. Although I'd have to say I prefer the one in your signature.
#235
I'm sorry, but I can't read what it says....

Man, that sucks. Seriously man.

When you leave for the final time, do me a favor man. Turn to your employer and say "Good day to you sir!"

All joking aside, good luck getting a new job/indentured servitude.
