Critics' Lounge / Re: Music

Well, since barely anyone has posted in my music critic thread (and the ones in the past), I thought I might post here and see if anyone returns the favour. ;) This song sound good for a credits sequence. However, the guitar starts to get a bit repetitive towards the end. Why not add a screaming Hendrix-esque guitar playing over top of that to cover up the monotony? Besides that minor detail, the song sounds good. Keep up the good work!

Wow! That looks very cool! My only complaint is that the interior or the car is pretty bland and unfinished-looking, but everything else, especially the wheels, look superb!

I could do music. MP3 or MIDI, it doesn't matter. Do you need epic stuff or techno style stuff? If techno, then no.

Used 6 images for the death card and 4 images for the judgement card.
Finally got around to throwing some stuff together tonight, I might make more if i get bored this weekend.  Tell me which one you like best.

Haha, the jugdement one looks like Shelley Duvall! *Points and laughs at postmodern_boy*

Lol. I know. That was the crappy version. It's hard to have a metronome on while you're recording something via keyboard.  I'm going to post a better version right now... (and, if you listen carefully you can hear that Jimi Hendrix Voodoo Chile-style sound effect at the beginning of this song).

Hey people, I was asked by the new AGS user Big Nerd to do music for his game. It's the same game with that awesome Miami Vice-style Cop sprite he did. I thought I'd go for a  funk style of music for the game and I was wondering what you guys thought of this piece I did. It's largely unfinished, I know, but I'll probably do a better version later today. This was made using a keyboard and Audacity. Here it is (sorry in advance for the crappy server):

Actually, despite not getting any crits on it, I've started working on an improved version, which I'll post tomorrow.

General Discussion / Re: CD Burning Troubles

Yeah, it could be faulty CD-Rs. I bought them quite a while ago. I'll try buying some new ones soon and see if that fixes it.  Edit: I actually forgot to say this, but the drive can still burn avi, wmv, etc. files onto a CD-R fine, but it won't burn audio. I'll try a lower drive speed, but I don't know what else would be going wrong.

I might help with voices- if it's for the English version, not Portugese.

Well just a few weeks ago, I burned some music onto a CD and it worked fine. Nothing on the computer has changed since then. No reformats, no drive changes. I don't know.

General Discussion / CD Burning Troubles
Mon 22/01/2007 15:37:06
Hey guys, I've been having MAJOR problems with my CD-R/RW drive. I was trying to burn some music onto a disc, but any program I use says there is no disc in the drive. However, when I try to burn video files onto a CD, the process goes fine. I'm not sure if it's a problem with the drive itself, the computer, the program, or even the discs themselves. I need help!

Thanks,

My "Company"

Well, it's just a logo to look cool in the forums.  While I am attempting to make a game, you would have to give "attempting" a very loose definition to apply it to what I have actually done.

As far as why it is what it is...
When you purchase a Bible, one of the options is to buy it with or without the words of Christ in red lettering.  This has led to an inside "joke" when someone is teaching on a passage where Christ is speaking.  He asks rehtorically, "How do I know Christ is speaking here?  I have a red letter Bible and it's red/read."  So I named my imaginary company Read Letter Entertainment, and put Read in red lettering so it would be pronounced RED and not REED.  My first game is planned to be a Christian game based on Ephesians 5.  As I am still in the writing stages, and my artistic skills are lacking, I expect it never to be completed without extensive help.

As for registering...
Why do I need to register an imaginary company with no products?  And if my imaginary company does produce a free product, does it really matter if the name is registered?

Very cool to see some Christian developers! Keep it up!

Why don't you want it to show your old username? It will link to your current one when clicked on.

The sprites are all paintovers of MrCollosal's sprites, eh? Anyways, looks nice. Simple backgrounds, but a nice clean style. I recommend changing the default GUI.

Looks nice, can't wait to play!

Classic Rock (Britney Spears, Madonna). Haha, why not Jimi Hendrix or the Beatles.
