As for your second question, it's perfectly fine to use other songs as inspiration, but BE SURE it doesn't sound exactly like the other song(s). I'll remind us of (among other things) the Coldplay/Joe Satriani controversy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UvB9Pj9Znsw

Ooh, can this thread be for creating our own AGS logos for other people to use?

EDIT:

When it comes to acronyms (which are pronounced), treat it like a word:

a NASA official

When it's a set of letters where you pronounce each one individually, pay attention to the first letter:

an HBO movie (an aitch)
an NYPD officer (an enn)
a WTF warning (a double-u)

So yes, your NYPD example is correct.

Which/that was discussed earlier, but after 11 pages, it's understandble you missed it. Usually "which" is preceded by a comma, while "that" is not:

I like to pick my nose, which makes people uneasy.
I have an idea that would revolutionize the pickle industry.

Usually "which" is used for describing the fact that preceded it (the picking of the nose makes people uneasy), while "that" is used for describing the object that preceded it (it's the idea that will revolutionize the industry).

If you changed the "that" in the 2nd example to "which" (and added the comma, which is required), you'd get a whole different meaning, although most people would translate it to the "that" version of the statement.

Well, I could just as easily create a script for people to make their own comic sites. But it seems you've got everything in order already. :)

Solstice (fka Gravity) and I have been planning a website that lets people add their own webcomics without any knowledge of web design needed. I'm guessing this idea needs to go on the fast track to being created.

Hey Darth just remember how much I love you when you come round to getting your nominations/invites etc  ;D

Hey Darth also remember your fellow Browncoats :D This would fulfill my dream of sending or receiving a wave sometime in my lifetime, not letting my descendants getting the first crack at it!

Somebody get this guy a gorram invite!

LOL, so it's not even an invite, just a nomination for a queue-jump? Jesus. So much hype... I know it'll be worth it, but I despise hype nonetheless. I'm taking myself out of this thread unless there's more news about it. :P

Secondly, tell him he shouldn't be playing games at work. ;)

Yes, it was nearly 3 years before GMail went public. And I lived just fine for 3 years without GMail. In fact, I don't really GMail all that much, as I seem to have a problem with received emails being delayed. Otherwise, it's great. Google Wave isn't "just another" anything, so it's a different story, but I repeat Akatosh's sentiment: "meh".

This is just like GMail in the early days. Pretty soon, it'll be public. What's so great about it anyway? Other than the fact that it references Firefly a million times. ;D

There's a hidden meaning somewhere in there. Possibly the meaning of life (or of AGS) itself.

Or they're just being silly.
#332
That photocopy idea is brilliant, as both a real-life solution and as an adventure game puzzle solution. ;D
#333
This is the wrong forum to post this question in, by the way.
#334
Am I missing something, or isn't the first frame of a walking animation supposed to be the standing-still pose?
#335
Don't shove your fame and wealth in our faces, David. ;)

That's why Google Image is your friend. I found it in 10 seconds flat using "hitch hiker's guide bbc audio" as my keywords. ;)

As far as AJAX goes, I too just code it from scratch, although lately I've been developing my own classes and whatnot for quick and easy AJAX calling.

Your project sounds very interesting, RickJ. HTML5 support is still kind of iffy in most browsers, however, so you'd have to have some pretty strict browser requirements for visitors. I'll have to look into this Canvas object a little more to tell you more about whether it can be "flattened" (like layers can be in Photoshop) and saved as an image.

Man, I gotta get my girlfriend to call me "Terran"... LOL
#339
Your wife calls you Snakie? Eh, it's OK, I've had girlfriends call me "Terran Rich" in bed many a time. ;)

WHAM, first of all, I love your music. You two were great, George Michael and... that other guy.

The shading on his gown is weird. The dark places aren't dark enough. Also, as Atelier mentioned, he looks blindingly bright. Definitely make the gown a bit darker, perhaps even less saturated in color.
