Hints & Tips / Pleurghburg trouble
Sun 23/04/2006 01:15:11
I am stuck in Pleurghburg: Dark Ages. I am currently under the crash site (inside the sewers). I need to get through the steel door. I even consulted a walkthrough. I did as it said. I interacted with the pipes, but I still can't get the acid to put in the pickle bottle. If you know the answer, please help me?

I am currently working on an AGS game about the hit television show "24" starring Kiefer Sutherland. Here are some of the details:

Note: If you watch "24", this game takes place between seasons 3 & 4

Story: President John Keeler authorizes a CTU squad lead by Jack Bauer to enter Bandar Abbas, Iran in order to capture and interrogate the religious leader of Hezbollah, Hakim Fawwaz. After a successful attempt, Jack Bauer soon learns of an upcoming terrorist attack being implemented by the leader of Hamas, Rafik Dahwar. Dahwar has gathered a group of faithful insurgents to help take control of the government building, in Los Angeles, that houses the President. But CTU thwarts this attempt, and the President is able to be snuck into an underground bunker by the Secret Service. Now Dahwar is sitting on about a hundred hostages and is making demands. He also has a man trying to break into the President's bunker. CTU sends in Jack Bauer to infiltrate the government compound and take out the terrorists before the President is put into extreme danger. But this is just the start of a very long day...

I plan on making a very complex game. It will cover a 24 hour period as does the show. There will be many cutscenes showcasing the government subplots. You will play as Jack Bauer and some others which include: Skip McMahon, a CTU field agent that I have created, Chloe O'Brian (only as part of high-tech computer mini-games), and others. The majority of the time, you are Jack Bauer. The cutscenes usually will feature cool dramatic effects like a full-motion video of Bauer shooting a terrorist in the head. Other cutscenes will focus on the government, mostly on the Vice President's executive decisions, since the President can't carry out his duties underground.

There are two major villains in the game:

Rafik Dahwar: He is the religious leader of Hamas.
&
Ivan Yakov: A former Russian soldier who plots a chemical attack.

I will be featuring many characters:

Jack Bauer, Irene Kennedy (CTU director), Curtis Manning (from Season 4), Tony Clark (a CTU demolition expert), Jordan Rostein (a CTU demolition expert), Charlie Wicker (an expert sniper), Skip McMahon (a CTU field agent), Kathy Jennings (a CTU computer analyst), Marcus Dumond (a CTU analyst/hacker), Edgar Stiles (from Season 4), Chloe O'Brian (from Season 3 & 4), Hakim Fawwaz (terrorist), Rafik Dahwar (terrorist), Sadek Danawi (one of Dahwar's henchmen), Bakkir Aswan (one of Dahwar's henchmen), Tawfiq Haddad (one of Dahwar's henchmen), Ahmad Fawzi (one of Dahwar's henchmen), Siraj Shareef (one of Dahwar's henchmen), Ivan Yakov (Russian terrorist), Nika Sashenka (Yakov's recruit), John Keeler (president), Ellen Morton (secret service agent), Russ Piper (DNC chairman), Valerie Jones (Keeler's Chief of Staff), Aaron Pierce (secret service detail leader), Charles Logan (vice president), Dallas King (Logan's Chief of Staff), Marge Tutwiler (Attorney General), Alex Tracy (Secret Service director), Bill Schwartz (NSA director), Ben Fine (Mossad colonel), Sally Burke (President's secretary), Mike Novick (Logan's Chief of Staff). Harrison Flood (General), Sid Slater (rogue mercenary), Anna Rielly (FOX correspondent to the President), Stone Alexander (ABC correspondent to the President), Milt Adams (former Secret Service agent), Sheila Dunn (ABC TV reporter), Tony Almeida (imprisoned), David Palmer (former President), Kim Bauer (Jack's daughter), Coy Zalack (communications expert)

A LOT OF PEOPLE, LIKE I SAID. MOST OF THESE HAVE LITTLE PARTS THOUGH

I need help with creating character sprites for these characters. Some animations (walking, mostly) for the major characters like Jack Bauer. I need some scripting help. Some of the elements of the game, like shooting a gun, isn't known to the average game creator. Animations for pulling out a gun, shaking hands with a NPC. I also need help with some great backgrounds (like for CTU, government building, bunker, streets of Los Angeles (don't actually have to be LA streets, but urban streets), some other backgrounds)

I know this is a lot to ask for, but it's necessary for the greatest possible game. If ANYBODY can help, it would be appreciated.

Beginners' Technical Questions / Characters

I am making a 24 adventure game based on the hit television show "24" starring Kiefer Sutherland. I am having major trouble creating sprites for all of the characters. I have read many FAQ's, tutorials and the AGS manual, but I still am having major difficulty on how to create character sprites along with their walking animations. If anybody could help me with this, their help would be appreciated.

I am currently working on a 24 adventure game based on the hit television show starring Kiefer Sutherland. I can make most of the game work, like collecting evidence, thus thwarting the terrorist's plans, but there must also be a shooting element of the game. I don't want a first person shooter. I want to be able to click on an enemy with a gun from the inventory list to shoot him and kill him. But I also want the enemy to be able to shoot me also. How would I go about doing this? Any help would be appreciated.

Is it possible to play one half of a game as one character and the other half as someone else?

When making a conversation occur in the game between two characters:
There are usually a list of choices for what you can say. Is it possible, that after picking a choice, instead of going right back to the list, you commit an action instead.

Here's an example:

You are a detective interviewing a murder suspect. You are chatting, but then the suspect makes you mad. Instead of having a list of choices to talk about, it would be better if the detective would punch the suspect instead. An action instead.

Is it possible to create a first-person shooter in Adventure Game Studio?

The game I am making goes like this: You, the main character, is assigned to infiltrate a terrorist compound.

The details of shooting the gun: You, the character, will be able to move freely, and the enemies are stationary.

If it is possible, how can you import a video file (ex. mpg, avi, etc.) into AGS in place of a cutscene?

I am in the process of making a game which heavily relies on the main character's ability to shoot a gun and kill people. How can you have gunfights between you and other characters, with both of you having the possibility of dying.
