Hey Folks,
I just did a background to go with this game and I wanted to know if you guys had any ideas.
Also I have two versions I can't decide between.

2x

Thanks for any feedback you have.
Also if you are interested in the process of making this here is an animation of the steps I made for my own reference.

Very nice! That made it look awesome. I don't think it's too dark. Too many people are afraid to have a good dark shadow.
It looks great!

Hey,
Excellent style I really dig it.

Like most my only real comment would be about the lack of depth. Right now it looks nice and flat. I did a quick paint over to hopefully give you some ideas.

1- The sky should actually get lighter as it gets closer to the horizon.
2- Added a little blue tint to the trees to show the distance.
3- Added some mountains to the back to push the view further back.

The shading is looking pretty good, but personal preference is I try to steer away from shading with black.

That being said it looks great! I can't wait to see what you do with it.

Edit: And about the path. Yeah it is pretty empty. What I might suggest is adding maybe some stones as a simple texture might clash with the style.

Completed Game Announcements / Re: Heed

So first off... This is the first AGS game I have played in a couple years and it did not disappoint.
I just downloaded it after following all the progress in one of your recent painting threads in the critics lounge. The game is visually stunning. The background and character art mesh beautifully. Great work! I really enjoyed the story myself. I love how you appeal to the player by in the very first lines of the game you make the character seem human, wanting a better reality.
Excellent work.

Captain Lexington- I'm glad you like it. :)
Abisso- Excellent paintover! I see what you mean about the coat and belt. I used that in the update.
Gazzo- Thanks a lot for the paintover! I have used it to correct his posture a bit and excellent work figuring out what I was going for with the hand.
Thanks Guys. A new version is up in the first post

Wow thanks for the swift replies!

Nacho- Thanks! Yes I have thought it through, He is supposed to look like very little like an actual Nazi guard. But I don't want to give too much away just  in case this game actually gets finished.

Captain Lex- Thank you. Yeah the color count was what you get when you don't really think about budgeting. Hey it was 6 AM and I hadn't slept. :) I have reduced to 15.

Abisso- It is true at first he was supposed to be leaning against a wall, but then I realized my flaw in putting the light source behind him. I have moved his right foot further to his right. Does that help any?

New images in first post.

Hey all you wonderful folks!
It has been over two years since my last post, but the recent Monkey Island news got me interested again.
Anyway for a small game I am working on  I drew the following Nazi. It have been a long time so I am way out of practice. So I post this in hopes that someone here will be able to give me some suggestions on how to improve the little guy.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.
It's cool to see so many old names still here!   :=

Edit: New Version

That Night Before is a cool game, made with umm... The games factory?

Pretty good game. I wonder if they stopped production of their next game since the copyright on the site is 2002 and some of the links don't work, like the forum link.
It was Multimedia Fusion for TNB. His older games like Fate of Monkey Island were TGF. If I remember right it seems like Broomie (Who ran those forums) Made me a moderator right before they stopped working... But it was so short lived I dont really remember if that happened or if it was just something we talked about one time.

That also reminds me, him and I were going to work on a game.... I wonder if he is still down.

Edit: By the way if you can find a copy of Fate of MI 2 It is a great one.

... Thats crazy I just watched it all the way through today for the first time. Then I see this thread..

Anyway the only feeling I got was ... That just ruined the story of the album :P Seriously it was crap... Listen to the album and dont watch the movie if you have a choice

You know you can call Musicians Friend. They can give you suggestions.. And they are open 24/7...
I have the Frender... It is okay at times but I like the Boss more...

And the difference is only size. The big muff is the classic and the little big muff is the same thing shrunk.. And it currently comes with a free shirt.

If you have any more questions feel free to give us a call :P

Now what I would suggest since all the lines are doubled is to do a pixel resize down 50%

If you are stillinterested here is what I do.
I open up my tablet program (I use Painter) and get a huge piece of paper that I would never need to use it all.
Then I start sketching, as i go i look at what parts I really need in the background and I sketch outside of it aswell.
I then crop the image based on where my detail ends. I then slowly resize with another image as a guide at 640x400 and when i get all the important stuff underneath the guide i crop around it.

Hahaha .. sorry strange I have been at work all day and all night. I just barly got a chance to post.

So without further ado......

Honorable mentions:
Flukeblake - Great animation I really like the smoke curl at the end.
[Cameron] - Also a good one the animation was smooth aswell.. I like when the head is reforming it fills up like liquid.
Strange Visitor - I like it! It was humorous and original which as I said were pluses, but I was looking for an idle animation and in this one the monkey completely leaves the screen.

3RD PLACE:
jasonjkay- Well done and extremely smooth animation!

2ND PLACE:
Mordalles- This was a tough call yours made me laugh my ass off! I really like the foot dangle!

1ST PLACE:
Me!........errr Yarooze- I have to admit i didn't want to give it to you :P I even checked to make sure your entry was on time...... J/k Seriously I thought this was just going to be another monkey eating a banana and then you kicked it up with the random juggling!Ã,  And anyone who knows me knows I like :juggling:

Congrats Yarooze sorry I have been working so much I couldnt show you the same curtiousy and make you a sweet trophy.

Well done to all the entries!
