Well most weeks its just a single sprite.

I do agree but I think the overall apathy is the labor it takes to animate.  Not sure a month would get people involved but a change in format is definitely needed.   There needs to be added incentive or a mixup of rules somehow.

Any ideas?

If its any consolation, he *would* have jumped and ran if his legs weren't immediately blown off by shrapnel...

But yeah I was caught up with 2 goals:

1. Get the little guy to the door.

2. Make it kind of funny / ironic.

So 5 minutes into animating I decided to make the ball the player character, and have it turn things on and off in the level.   Its kind of inspired by Abe's Odyssey and puzzle games like that.  I wanted all the events to be tied together to effect the later outcome.  I guess I did sort of break the genre for the sake of comedy but I hadn't done anything like this before so it was really fun.

Need more entries!

Beyondo Ball

( If you miss the beginning just watch for "End" white text over black in your peripheral vision.   Otherwise you'll spoil something.)   I really enjoyed making this.

Lionmonkey, lol I already know what you're going to reveal, I think.  Nice.

Your comments on Lola:  I agree.  I think it has a lot of potential but some of the sounds looped too often and became obnoxious on the ears.   If the song was expanded upon and added a few more traditional musical elements, this song could be really really good.   Hopefully, we'll get to hear another cut of this song.

Unfortunately I had no time to write a song this time, I was just too busy with the animation contest.   The erotic theme was so damn good I'm kicking myself for missing out.

Damn I'm having trouble deciding between Moment of Delight and Dangerous Seduction.  --edit--  OK, got it.

#1:  Moment of Delight.  Incredible sound.  Starts mysteriously then gets sexual.   I felt the emotion hit me and it meshed with the script perfectly.  The sax reminded me of the band Morphine.  One of my faves.

#2: Dangerous Seduction. Awesome 80s retro midi sound.  Especially love the shrieking noise leading into the piano.  Only reason I'm placing second is the *toooo familiar melody* if that makes any sense.  But all the other parts combine wonderfully to create an awesome, sneaky sound.

#3:  Erotic.   Went for the upbeat rhythm. Was a risky choice.   But this is very reminiscent of the music used in many soft porn movies.  So job well done.

I'm almost done with the final frames but I need some ImageReady assistance.

How can I export the gif at 200 percent?    Hopefully theres one setting without changing properties frame by frame.

And they deserve recognition for what, exactly? Appallingly bad games? Using paint like an armless monkey? Being "funny"? Chronology?

I wouldn't rate them at all.

HENCE exactly why they are underrated!

Here's the sign I see on shop windows that frightens me:

Isn't that fucked up?     It looks like a child with an exposed ribcage.

oh, and Uwe inspires me because he keeps making movies in spite of his critics.   And they're so bad it shows you that anyone can direct films for a living.  Very inspiring.

I hated Phonebooth.    I had never heard of Colin Farrel until I saw the world premiere of that movie.  And I learned to despise the guy.

Bad Schumacker films I accidentally saw:

The Number 23
The Phantom of the Opera
Phonebooth
8MM
Batman & Robin
Batman Forever

Decent ones:

The Lost Boys
Tigerland
The Client
A Time to Kill
Falling Down   (er, Now that I think about it..

I'd never heard of his Mr. T movie so I need to find a copy and see if Joel found a way to ruin T.   At any rate, I find Uwe Boll to be a more inspirational filmmaker.   The world hates him and has told him to stop, but he says "Screw you! I'll keep making them anyway!"  He goes so far as to challenge his critics to boxing matches...  And it just fills my heart.

His movies ARE getting better... its just a shame so many people sat through what were basically his student films.

We were the only two, too.

Um, I don't know about you but I was in 6th or 7th grade when Batman Forever came out.   Your age says 27, lol, but yeah we didn't know any better.

Now I know to avoid all Joel Schumaker movies... and slap him in the face if I ever see him.   And I WILL take Clooney up on that offer.

This is, however, one of those things I would love to be proven wrong on :)

Which is why we need to be careful not to jump the gun with inconclusive evidence... and need to scrutinize potential fakes and not encourage others to turn a profit on other people's imaginations.   (unless they are honest about lying... like Steven Spielberg's filmmaking* for example)

(Unless George Lucas wrote the script... then it probably should be discouraged :) )

Despite the possibly fake alien there is still the ghosts footage, IMO the freakiest of all the UFO/alien etc videos I've seen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_xlyofmznOs

The family camping in the woods -   they seem to be looking at something like a flashlight moving over a mosquito net.  Or simply over the leaves of trees.   Its wavy like smoke but doesn't move like smoke so I believe the waviness is due to the leaves or the screen material.   I'd love to try to recreate the effect to see if it could be done as convincing as this instance.

Its totally possible it wasnt staged by the person filming, but by a friend trying to scare them.   But why is the camera on a tripod if this was so quickly "Hey what was that?!  Set the camera up on a tripod and film toward those trees!"

Watched the videos.   The third one was the only one I'm convinced was not doctored footage or a remote control vehicle.  Looked like a plane.

That last one's kinda scary, lol.  It looks like a totem celebrating the Ginger Deadman.
