Completed Game Announcements / Re:Pilot Light

Awesome game man! I loved the art style, and the animations and transitions owned. Also, the interface was excellent and you really did give the whole package.

Crits: too short and too easy (but not necessarily a bad thing). Music would've been great.

I'm definitely looking forward to more from you. Out of curiosity, how long did it take you to create this gem?

What the fuck?

I already own a company called 'Mappomedia Industries' -- You can't call your company 'Mappomedia Industries' too, you dirty thief!

I've owned it longer than you too -- I even have a website to prove it:

Stop using the name 'Mappomedia Industries' or else I will get my lawyers to sue you!
LOL, f-ing hilarious!

You have to jump into the water to avoid being shot.

Sweet, this game looks great!

I think it came out pretty well. I love the green-red gradient on the frontmost tree, and the coloring on the other trees came out very nicely as well.

Criticism: the reflection on the water seems very odd to me. I think you should be able to see a reflection of everything along the river. Here's an example:

It looks wonderful, but only 2 rooms?? :(

Based on the placement of the moon, I agree with Scummbuddy that the shadows on the left side should appear straight down. However, I don't think it detracts at all from the great look.

I like it. It's very different =)

It kind of reminds me of a song played in The Sopranos:
Xzibit - Paprazzi (Instrumental Version)

You might want to check that out.

Very nice! It would be a great song not only for the beginning, but also as in-game music.

I like the first version better than the second, Yufster.

The new style rocks and matches the more detailed BGs much more, but the old style was awesome as well, dm. Are you planning to redo all of the characters that you created in the old style to this new style??

I would LOVE to see this new style of characters in your game, but it would be a shame to see all of the characters and animations you previously did go to waste  :(.

Wow pau ;)

The updated room is 10 times nicer and the addition of the plant and the glass add a lot  more life and character to the scene, not to mention how nice they look. It would be nice if there was something outside of the window, but I guess it's not too necessary if this room is pretty high up.

I think that your characters will go excellently with that background style!

Good luck and hope to see some more soon.

Another great animation! I like this one much better than the first.

Jayel: Your app looks sweet... any chance us AGSers might get a demo or something?  8)

I hate shaving... Hell, I'm 14 and I'm on a shave every day basis. I always shave in the shower (heh, I know). And by the end of the school day it has grown back... I do, though, like to rub my burns for good luck on tests and stuff. It seems to work :)
That sucks, Evil! Jeez, I hate shaving so much! I'm 21 and I have to shave pretty much everyday, but I'm too lazy to do that, so I only shave once or twice a week. I'm a hairy beast as well, but I wish I had some chinese/korean/japanese in me. One of my korean friends doesn't even have armpit hair, let alone facial/body hair! Lucky bastard..

Oh yeah, I possibly have balding to look forward to as well... lucky me.  :(

Wow, those are gorgeous, man! The color and style works perfectly! Post more soon =)

I thoroughly enjoyed Flashbax, foz. In fact, I felt the vulgarity was a nice change of pace and I can't wait to play the prequel.

Everything (art, animation, music, sound effects, dialog) was top-notch and I can tell that you spent a long time developing the game. I was also very happy with the helpful descriptions and hints. The story was also very good, if not too grim at the end, and I'm glad you left something open for a prequel.

However, there were a few gripes I had with the game:
1) As mentioned before, the movement was a little too slow.
2) Although it may detract from the difficulty, I think it's better to remove inventory items once they're no longer needed.

Also, there were a few bugs I encountered:
1) Once you get the water gun, you can interact with the crane controls again to reset the crate carrying the water guns. Consequentially, a second water gun can be picked up.
2) If you exit and re-enter the room after killing the sleeping guard, he will be alive and snoring (although, this could have been intentional).

Again, great game!

I can't wait until Bush is out of office, assassinated, dies of a drug overdose, or explodes from constipation... It's very depressing to come home, turn on the TV, and see a monkey (Bush) leading the US. I cringe everytime I see him giving a speech.

Sweet, sounds good to me! I'm still working on Flashbax and so far I love it.. In fact, when I read some of the comments in the Flashbax announcement thread, I was very shocked because, in my opinion, this is one of the best AGS games out there. From what I've played so far, Flashbax's artwork, animation, story, and dialog are all impressive and very well-done.

Anyway, good luck and I hope to see this one soon.

AGS Games in Production / Re:Apprentice 2!

SWEET!  ;D

Sorry for the one word reply, but I'm at a loss for words! Apprentice ownz =)

PS: If it's feasible, I, too, would love to hear some well-done voice acting in A2. If not, it really doesn't matter because everything else about Apprentice is superb.

The BG is looking good, Moresco. It's pretty blurry, but I think this eery style will work well if the game is going to be scary.

Ahh I see, thanks guys. ;)

Thanks everyone.
It's created using an animation software I'm currently writing.  I drew extreme positions first then filled in in-betweens with onion skinning.  Copy & Paste is very buggy at this point so I only used it on two frames.  It was originally drawn at twice the size, and rescaled using bilinear filtering - additional programming was required to get it working with transparency key.
Igor - thanks for the great tip!  That'll help me make it more fluid.

Jeez.. it looks really great! By the way, what is onion skinning ? Can someone give me a description, tutorial, or link please?
