When I want to remove the pixelation, there are two techniques I use.

If I am dealing with gradients (as in a photograph), I use the blur tool to blur together places where I know should be the same color, and to make edges less pixelated.

If I am dealing with solid colors, I use the marquee selection tool.  HEre Ill show an example of both techniques..

General Discussion / Re: C# anyone?

Alynn,  I wasn't showing you all of my code I am just trying to get the syntax...piece is my own class.

netmonkey: no, the array is not a class with functions.  also, it is perfecly acceptable to initialize data outside of a method...however...it IS inside a method so i don't know what you're point is.  perhaps you don't know that initialize means putting data into, perhaps you were talking about declaring the data type?  you can declare outside a method fine.

General Discussion / C# anyone?
Sat 10/07/2004 01:21:31
ive been using c# and am extremely impressed with it's capabilities...which blow away C++, java, and everything else I've touched.

however, I can't figure out how to use arrays of non-primary types.  does anyone know how to do this?  example of what im trying to do:

public class Game{
public Piece[] arrPieces = new Piece[32]; //array of each piece in the game

public static void Main(){
arrPieces[1] = new Piece(this, "Pawn", 21, 2, 2, 1);
}
}

but it says an object reference is needed for the nonstatic 'Game.arrPieces'

what was the version of that called where you were an ostrich and you dropped eggs or something?

like I said, I can find hundreds of services called like "totally free pc-to-phone" and "free phone" and whatever, almost ALL of them have "free" in the name, and all of them say free in the description, then you go to their website and it's not free....

i got a tip that this is actually a free one although i havent verified it yet

do these exist anymore?  i can find plenty that SAY they are free...but then you go to their website and it actually costs money.

im cofnused...this website says:

QuoteWhat exactly is on a DVD disc? What are VOB, IFO and BUP files? All this will be explained here.

When you access the DVD drive you'll see at least 2 directories:

22.08.2000 03:20 <DIR> AUDIO_TS
22.08.2000 05:53 <DIR> VIDEO_TS

but the only directories on the DVD are:

VIDEO_TS
JACKET_P

JACKET_P certainy doesnt contain the audio, it has all of 3 files which are only a few kb each

so wheres the audio?

im trying to back up a dvd, using Dvd Decryptor...it supposedly decrypted all of the VIDEO_TS files which I can load into WinDVD and play as chapters...but they have no sound.  IS sound extracted differently?  IS there a different freeware app that does video+sound easily?  Im not trying to burn to a new dvd just onto my hard drive.

thanks all

perhaps this should go on the useful apps list later

QuoteAh, Stuh. You gotta love someone who can rationalise racism. It's just like Christians who say "I don't hate homosexuals. I just hate homosexualisty".

Affirmative action is racist

QuoteNative American tribes are seperate entities from the US government and are allowed to do many things illegal by US law, such as their casinos and cockfights (and now gay marriage).

I can see why they dont want to give them more money

Colossal: yeah...I don't think many educated people still consider America the land of the free since Bush2.

Your website scares me too much to press any of the buttons...whatever joke it is, it's not worth it...

Macphee:

QuoteRacism and hate are different things??? That's news to me.

yeeah.....

Racism is when you judge people of different races as if they have different ability levels (either worse OR better), or make separations based on race.

Racism has absolutely nothing at ALL to do with hatred...the only thing they have in common is that if you are a race-hater you are also probably (but not necessarily) a racist.  It would be possible to be a race-hater and not racist if you acknowledged that you had no rational reason for hating the race.

I'm not a race hater, but I am a racist, and I'm not afraid to deny it.  I make judgements on people based on their race.  And not only that, I make judgements based on their sex, based on what kind of car they drive, based on where they live, based on what music they listen to, based on what their hobbies are, based on their GPA, based on their friends, based on their significant others, based on their jobs.

Yes, I do these things.  And anyone who doesn't is either blind, a liar, or a hypocrite.

Kara, you thought there were people maliciously sabotaging alternate-view sites?  Certainly not the police...they go for child porn and sometimes bestial porn but that's because those things are illegal...opinions are not illegal.

Anyway...this is definitely not a "joke / hoax" site.

and I don't understand why everyone thinks it's so controversial....

1. Don't like gay marraige.  ??? So what.  Most of America doesn't...that's why it doesn't exist; a Christian opinion.

2. Don't like racial mixing.  A bit wierd, not my opinion...but nothing wrong with this opinion...sounds pretty Christian.

3. Want less immigration.  I know a lot of Americans who would agree with this also...nothing against foreigners, but when immigration is largely one-way, it begins to cause crowding...

4. Don't want non-European immigration.  This is racist.  But it's not "hate", and not very extreme...

5. Want less money spent on certain Indian funds.  They believe this to be a waste of money.  I haven't looked into this so I can't put my opinion here...

-----

So what do you have?  A website with mostly Christian and/or Republican ideas.  I'm neither, but a good many people are...

Each word can be broken down into 2 anagrams, when rearranged, they yield the following secret message:

rand has made at by the ripe ash

I'm a bit confused though because I dug holes around al the ash trees in my yard and didn't find any treasure there.

Thanks so much!

I played Samorost first...it was really fun!  Sort of like Riven, only, easier (and hence more fun) :D

But I got stuck at the machine level where there was all the gas clouds...I set the Q factor to 50 like the sign said, but the only other thing I could do was puff smoke and that didn't seem to work :(  Any ideas?  Anyone?

Then I played the Quest for the Rest...it was great fun!  I just completed it.  Their music is really beautiful, especially the title track (Together We're Heavy).  It's kind of like Sigur Ros meets Gorky's Zygotic Mynci :P

Good stuff...know any more?

Actually, I really am considering having to go for long periods of time eating food like ramen noodles, pb&j, or pasta.  I'm going to be really poor.  I'm kind of scared that I might harm my body...does anyone know any good cheap combinations that wont kill myself from lack of proper nutrients?

hehe...

well im a junior in college and I just went in on a deal with 3 of my friends on my first apartment.  I haven't moved in yet, but I'm paying rent.

problems?  I have plenty.  My checkbook got confused last year and I overpsent by about a $1000.  I got a subletter, but he screwed me...so that's another $1500 I wasn't expecting to pay.  So, for me, this is new financial troubles I've never had before...

my advice...don't buy stuff you don't need.

sigh
