Storyline, "story subject to change"

Your a young boy or girl growing up in the small town of Floorinville.
One day you start to notice the townspeople are acting a lot more worried and frantic so you ask your mother why and she replies, Dont worry son, Their just believing strange rumors.
You ask her what rumors and she simply does not reply.
You have your diner and hit the hay ready for a long day of working the crops.

When you awaken in the morning you see your mother standing in the doorway shaking and you run to her and ask what is wrong?
She stares at you for a few seconds, tears pouring out of her eyes.
Theres no easy way to say this "Hero name here", Your father disappeared on the way to the market last night.

Enraged you grab your grandfathers sword off the wall and rush out of the door into the morning haze towards the market.
On your way to the market you hear a rustling in the bushes then a terrible shriek, almost demonic sounding and in an instant you see a fearsome creature with bluish pale skin, almost human in existence but shorter and much more smelly, It instantly rushes you and you have no choice but to battle.
Now you are left to find your fathers true whereabouts and the source of this demonic infestation!


Immediate project needs

Writers to come up with and improve upon the story. "We have 2 but could always use more"

Sierra style artwork, Either painting/drawing from scratch or paint overs on previous 3d renders. Grimquest is now merging to complete painted/drawn 2D sierra style art.

Artists to produce characters,objects and other sprites and animations "We will do the animating, just need the images.".
Uses strictly "Pixel art" i.e pencil tool, hand drawn anti-aliasing"Not required",Low color palette.


Need complete graphical re-design of gui interface "also depending on artist"

Character design of main EGO's and multiple various npc's, skills and objects.

Object sounds such as footsteps, gold clinking, drinking water, rustling in the bushes NPC voices and all other sound effects.

Testers to help test the player movements, online capabilities and multiplayer functions.

We are looking for a new artist that can produce art similar to this:

If your skill is a little less or a little more it's no problem at all, we also need other things like GUI design, animations and much more.
We already have 2 artists a coder, A manager, And a musician on this project so its going to be a great masterpiece!
This is a non paid project but I will exchange services such as webhosting/design including html,xml,css,php,mysql,java,flash 2d/3d art, storywriting and much more. I will also pay cash from time to time if needed.

Our plans at Grim Quest have changed and now we are looking for someone to overlay my 3D rendered art with a smaller 2D color palette to help make the game's theme match. I tried it myself and it seems much easier than starting from scratch.

I will still offer the services mentioned above for help and am still looking for pixel artists to create new art but the overlay may be easier for some and it would save us a lot of time with walk-behinds/hotspots and edges.
